Bright VPN’s official site advertises downloads for Windows, Android and Mac, but its own installation information also says the desktop app is currently available for Windows only. Check the live official download controls for your device and region before installing. The service is free, but it is funded by Bright Data, which may use your internet connection to access public websites through your device.
Where to download Bright VPN
Use the official Bright VPN website to check current downloads and read the service terms. The site advertises Windows, Android and Mac options, while its extracted installation text says the desktop app is currently available only for Windows. That inconsistency means availability should be confirmed on the live page rather than assumed from the platform names in a download headline.
Do not treat a third-party page describing an APK as the official installer. The available information does not establish a current Android APK version, signature, or minimum Android version. Before installing an APK, confirm that the official Bright VPN site currently offers it for your device and region.

Bright VPN says Bright Data pays for the VPN. In exchange, users allow Bright Data to access public web pages through their internet connection. The installation disclosure states: “To use BrightVPN, allow BrightData to occasionally access websites through your device.”

Bright VPN’s simplified terms say Bright Data collects public web information for customers, citing uses such as price comparison, counterfeit-site identification, ad verification, search visibility checks and research. The company says it screens customers and traffic; those statements are not independent audit findings in the available sources. Read the service terms and privacy policy before deciding whether this participation model suits you.
Platform differences and installation checks
Windows
The official site’s installation information identifies Windows as the currently available desktop platform. Follow the Windows download control on the official site and review the connection-sharing disclosure before granting installation permissions.

Mac and iPhone
The home page advertises Mac, but the installation text also says the desktop app is Windows-only. Confirm that a Mac download control is currently available before proceeding. Bright VPN’s simplified FAQ says Windows, iOS and macOS use IKEv2; this does not establish that every platform has identical features or availability.

Android and APK
The title-specific download page describes Android availability as APK-only, but this does not verify a current official package or its compatibility details. Check the official site for the APK and any current installation guidance. Bright VPN says Android does not natively support the IKEv2 protocol used on Windows, iOS and macOS, so do not assume the Android implementation is identical.

Chrome extension
The Chrome Web Store listing says the extension requires the Windows app. It is therefore not a standalone substitute for installing the Windows desktop application. Listing version and update details can change and apply to the extension, not necessarily to the VPN app or Android APK.

Bright VPN markets encryption, IP masking and no browsing logs. Those are company claims, not independently verified outcomes in the cited materials. They should be considered alongside the disclosed use of a participating connection for public-web data collection. A VPN connection alone should not be read as proof of complete anonymity or as a guarantee that every activity is private.

Before installing, decide whether you accept Bright Data accessing public websites through your connection, verify that the official download is available for your platform, and review the current terms and privacy policy. If you do not want your connection used in this way, do not install the service.
