Ripple says it will provide multi-asset prime brokerage, clearing and financing to funds managed by Brevan Howard. The October 6, 2026 announcement describes an expanded institutional services relationship; it does not say which funds or instruments are included, when onboarding will occur, or what the commercial terms are.
What Ripple Prime will do for Brevan Howard
Under the announced arrangement, Ripple Prime will provide Brevan Howard funds with three services: prime brokerage, clearing and financing. Ripple describes the deal as an expansion of its existing relationship with the investment manager. The announcement does not establish that every Brevan Howard fund is already using Ripple Prime.
Brevan Howard Group COO Alan McGroarty said digital and traditional markets are becoming more interconnected and that demand is growing for institutional-quality digital-asset infrastructure. He said Ripple’s platform is expected to provide investment teams with “increased operational ease and capital efficiency.” Those are his expectations, not reported or measured outcomes.
Ripple Prime President Noel Kimmel called Brevan Howard’s trust recognition of Ripple Prime’s competitive position and cross-asset capabilities, and described the expanded relationship as a long-term commitment. These are statements from the companies, not an independent evaluation of the service.

Which markets and capabilities Ripple Prime lists
Ripple’s Ripple Prime product page describes an institutional platform spanning digital assets and traditional markets. Its listed coverage includes:
- Digital assets and foreign exchange
- Precious metals
- Exchange-traded derivatives and OTC swaps
- Fixed-income repo
The page also describes OTC trading, sponsored access and direct market access, real-time risk management, cross-margining, risk-based margin financing and tri-party custody setups. These are Ripple’s descriptions of its general offering. The Brevan Howard announcement does not identify which of these products, markets or custody arrangements its funds will use.
That distinction matters for institutional readers: a provider’s general product menu does not establish the scope of a particular client agreement. The release does not specify the funds’ jurisdictions, execution venues, supported instruments, margin arrangements or operational integrations.

What the announcement says about the existing relationship
Ripple says funds managed by Brevan Howard affiliates participated in Ripple’s $500 million strategic investment in 2025. The $500 million figure is the size of the investment round, not Brevan Howard affiliates’ disclosed contribution. Ripple has not stated how much those funds invested.
Ripple’s October 6, 2026 release describes Brevan Howard as managing about $35 billion in assets for institutional investors worldwide. That is Ripple’s characterization of the manager’s scale in the announcement.

How Ripple Prime came to include Hidden Road
Ripple announced its acquisition of institutional prime broker Hidden Road on April 8, 2025, for $1.25 billion. Ripple said the acquisition closed on October 24, 2025, and that Hidden Road became Ripple Prime. The acquisition announcement described Hidden Road’s services as clearing, prime brokerage and financing across FX, digital assets, derivatives, swaps and fixed income.
At the time of the April 2025 acquisition announcement, Ripple said Hidden Road cleared $3 trillion annually across markets and served more than 300 institutional customers. Those figures describe Hidden Road as reported in 2025, not current Ripple Prime metrics. In its October 2025 closing article, Ripple said the business had grown 3X since the initial acquisition announcement; Ripple did not provide a measurement methodology in that article.

What is not disclosed about the agreement
The October 2026 announcement does not provide pricing, detailed contract terms, transaction volumes, implementation dates or a list of funds that will onboard. It also does not establish whether Ripple’s blockchain will be used to settle trades, whether the funds will use XRP or RLUSD, or whether the arrangement changes investment performance or guarantees client assets.
Ripple announced a separate U.S. capability on November 3, 2025: OTC spot transactions in dozens of prominent digital assets for U.S.-based institutional clients, with cross-margining against other digital-asset positions, including OTC swaps and CME futures and options. That product announcement provides context on Ripple Prime’s offering in the U.S.; it does not establish that the Brevan Howard funds will use those instruments or that the same scope applies to this agreement.

What institutional clients should compare
The announcement confirms the categories of service Ripple says it will provide, but it does not supply comparable commercial or operational terms. An institution assessing a prime broker would need to evaluate factors such as:
- Supported asset classes, instruments and execution venues
- Clearing access, financing and margin terms
- Cross-margining, risk controls and custody arrangements
- Jurisdiction, regulatory permissions and operational integration
- Service levels and the specific terms of the client agreement
Ripple’s product page discusses several of these capabilities, including cross-margining, risk management and tri-party custody. The release does not provide enough agreement-specific or competitor information to rank Ripple Prime against other providers.
