The Bosch PXE875DC1E is an 80 cm Series 8 induction hob with four cooking positions, a flexible induction zone, DirectSelect Premium touch controls and PerfectFry temperature sensing. On Bosch’s own documentation it is a fully featured model. Those features are manufacturer claims, though, and this review does not report hands-on cooking results. It covers what Bosch publishes, where the regional versions differ, and what you need to check before buying or installing.

Key specifications by region

Bosch publishes separate specification sheets for New Zealand, Australia and Vietnam, and the values do not match in every row. The table below uses only the figures each sheet states. “Not stated” means that sheet does not give the value, so check the installation guide for your own unit.

Cooking layout and the flexible zone

The PXE875DC1E has four cooking positions. The flexible area is the feature that sets it apart from a standard 80 cm hob, and the regional sheets describe it in slightly different ways.

FlexInduction and the flexible zone

The Australian sheet describes FlexInduction as combining two zones into one larger cooking area. The New Zealand sheet describes the left side as either one 400 × 240 mm area or two 200 mm areas, and also lists 280 mm and 145 mm zones. The Vietnamese sheet describes the left side as a flexible 40 cm zone. Taken together, the sheets point to a large left-hand area that can be used as one cooking surface or split into smaller zones, but they do not publish a full list of compatible pan shapes. Check the user guide for your unit before buying a pan specifically for the flexible area.

Move Mode

The Australian sheet lists Move Mode, which divides the flexible area into three preset power levels. The New Zealand and Vietnamese sheets we reviewed do not mention it, so do not assume every regional version includes it.

Controls, PerfectFry and safety functions

Bosch lists DirectSelect Premium touch controls on every regional sheet. The Vietnamese sheet also lists 17 power levels, keep-warm settings and timers, along with child lock, wipe protection and automatic switch-off.

Duxtop Portable Induction Cooktop, Countertop Burner 1800W Silver 9600LS
  • PORTABLE INDUCTION BURNER: Duxtop induction cooktop uses 110/120 V 15 amp electrical outlet–standard in all North American homes. ETL listed and built to North American electrical standards. It is lightweight and compact for easy handling and storage

  • DIGITAL LCD SENSOR: Touch control panel: child safety lock keeps the cooking and timer settings from being accidentally changed once they have been set; fast boil button; keep warm button (for 1-30 minutes at 140 °F); up to 10-hour timer button
  • Induction stoves rely on cookware to heat, so it’s essential to choose magnetic bottom cookware with a minimum diameter of 5 inches. Auto-pan detection will shut off automatically after 60 seconds if no cookware, or the incorrect cookware is detected
  • Although induction itself is a noiseless process, there may be high pitched sounds from the cookware due to multiple layers of metals sandwiched together. Please allow the induction cooker to cool down before cleaning

PerfectFry temperature control

PerfectFry is the hob’s temperature-assistance feature. Bosch New Zealand’s product sheet states: “The induction hob with PerfectFry: achieve perfect frying results thanks to automatic temperature control.” The Vietnamese sheet lists five PerfectFry temperature settings. This is Bosch’s promotional description of the feature. No independent test in the sources we reviewed confirms how well it performs in practice.

  • Identify your regional sheet and the exact product variant. Match the full E-Nr or product number on the appliance and packaging, not only the model name.
  • Confirm the cutout against the installation guide for your variant. The Vietnamese sheet gives a niche of 51 × 750–780 × 490–500 mm; the New Zealand and Australian sheets give an external size of 51 × 816 × 527 mm.
  • Check that your worktop is at least 16 mm thick where the sheets state that minimum (New Zealand and Vietnam).
  • Check that the circuit and fuse capacity can support a 7.4 kW load. A qualified electrician should confirm this against local wiring rules.
  • Allow for power limiting. Bosch’s Vietnamese sheet says PowerManagement can limit maximum power depending on the fuse protection in the installation, so the hob may not deliver its full rated output on a lightly fused supply.
  • Confirm the supply cable length. The Vietnamese sheet specifies a 1.1 m cable connected to a terminal block; the other sheets do not state one.

Accessories

Bosch Australia lists two Flex Pan accessories for this model: HEZ9FF010 Flex Pan and HEZ9FF030 Flex Pan set. Confirm the code matches your variant and that the accessory is sold in your market before buying, because the sheets do not establish accessory availability elsewhere.

Ownership and support

Bosch maintains support pages for specific PXE875DC1E variants. The US pages list user manuals, short instructions, installation instructions and a replacement-parts route. Because the variant suffix changes the documentation, search by the full E-Nr or product variant and your region before downloading a manual.

Who should consider this hob

The PXE875DC1E is worth a closer look if you want a flexible left-hand cooking area, touch controls with a clear power display, and a sensor-assisted frying mode, and if your kitchen can meet the installation requirements above. If your worktop is thinner than 16 mm, your circuit cannot support the connected load, or you need a feature absent from your regional version, a different model is the safer choice.

The Bottom Line

On Bosch’s published specifications, the PXE875DC1E is a feature-rich 80 cm induction hob with a flexible zone and PerfectFry temperature control. Before buying, confirm your regional variant, the cutout and worktop thickness, and whether your electrical supply can support 7.4 kW without power limiting. Cooking performance, sensor accuracy and durability are not verified by independent testing in the sources available.
