Colorlib Sidebar V10 is a free, image-backed sidebar template aimed at journal and blog layouts. Its defining behavior is a push-content menu: opening the sidebar shifts the page rather than placing the menu over it. Colorlib’s September 28, 2026 page describes it as one of 25 sidebar examples and says versions V01–V10 were rebuilt without jQuery. Those are the publisher’s claims; inspect the download and test its behavior in your project before relying on them.

What is Bootstrap Sidebar V10?

Bootstrap Sidebar V10 is Colorlib’s vertical sidebar menu design for online journals and blogs. The page describes a text logo or title, text, navigation menu, social media icons that respond on hover, and an image background. It is a visual starting point for a site layout, not a complete publishing platform or a guarantee that every design detail will suit your content.

Colorlib’s collection page is dated September 28, 2026 and groups 25 entries as ten sidebar navigation layouts, ten sidebar widgets, and five newer snippets. It identifies V10 as a push-style sidebar. These counts and design descriptions come from Colorlib, not independent testing. See Colorlib’s sidebar template listing.

How does the sidebar behave?

V10 uses a push-content interaction: opening the menu moves the main page to the side instead of covering it with an overlay. This keeps the sidebar and displaced page area visible together, but also changes the space available to the main content. Whether that feels clear or cramped depends on the viewport and layout into which you place it.

Colorlib’s general selection advice distinguishes push menus from overlay menus, which cover the page and can suit short tasks. The page does not report V10-specific usability or accessibility testing. Do not assume that it provides keyboard dismissal, focus management, or a collapsed state just because Colorlib discusses those capabilities elsewhere in the collection.

Does V10 require Bootstrap or jQuery?

Colorlib says its sidebar examples can run standalone or inside Bootstrap 4, 5, and 6 projects, and that the collection uses HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript without requiring jQuery or Bootstrap files. It also says V01–V10 were rebuilt without jQuery in September 2026. These are publisher statements, not an independent compatibility test; confirm the actual V10 download’s files, dependencies, and behavior before integrating it. In particular, “works with Bootstrap” does not necessarily mean the template loads Bootstrap for you.

If you need only a vertical menu rather than this specific design, Bootstrap’s .nav class can be combined with .flex-column for a stacked navigation layout. That is a separate implementation reference, not a feature or dependency of V10. Read the Bootstrap Menu vertical-navigation reference.

What to check before adapting it

  • Phone layout: Test the open and closed states at narrow widths. A push menu takes space by shifting content, so check that the page remains usable and its content does not become too compressed.
  • Navigation labels: Do not rely on social or navigation icons alone. Give each icon-only control an accessible name and make its purpose clear to visitors.
  • Keyboard and focus: Verify that users can open and close the menu by keyboard, that Escape behavior is appropriate, and that focus returns sensibly when the menu closes. These are checks to perform, not confirmed V10 features.
  • Project fit: Decide whether a push interaction suits the page better than an overlay, and check the menu against the site’s content, branding, and navigation structure.
  • Dependencies: Inspect the downloaded HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and any linked assets. Confirm whether your project needs to supply a framework or other files.

Can you use the template commercially?

Colorlib’s collection page says downloads are available under CC BY 3.0 for personal and commercial projects, provided the credit link is retained. Before using or redistributing V10, check the license and readme included with the specific download. Do not remove attribution or redistribute the files on the strength of the collection-page summary alone.
