Bootstrap Footer V17 is a free, code-based footer snippet for a restrained dark design: a site name, one navigation row, and social icons. Colorlib recommends it especially for one-page sites. Its current roundup says the snippets can run on their own or in Bootstrap 4, 5, or 6 projects, without requiring Bootstrap files.
What Bootstrap Footer V17 includes
V17 is a digital HTML/CSS snippet, not a physical component or a complete website template. Colorlib describes it as a simple responsive footer with a dark appearance, social media icons, and a menu that can be customized. The current roundup characterizes its layout as a dark bar containing a site name, one navigation row, and bright social icons. Colorlib’s V17 page and its Bootstrap footer roundup provide the template description.

Does V17 require Bootstrap?
No Bootstrap dependency is stated for the current version. Colorlib’s September 28, 2026 roundup says the footer snippets were rebuilt in plain HTML and CSS, with vanilla JavaScript only where a snippet uses tooltips. It says they work either standalone or within Bootstrap 4, 5, or 6 projects, without jQuery or Bootstrap files. The roundup does not identify Bootstrap as a requirement for V17, so the framework is an optional integration context rather than a stated prerequisite.

Choose V17 when the footer needs only a site name, a brief set of links, and social icons, and when a dark, compact treatment fits the rest of the design. Its single-row approach is particularly suited to a one-page site. Before choosing it, check that the footer has enough space for any information visitors need at the bottom of the page; adding many categories, contact details, or legal links may make a minimal row feel crowded.

How V17 differs from other Colorlib footer layouts
Colorlib’s roundup describes several alternatives by the content and layout they emphasize. These are publisher descriptions, not results of comparative testing.

- Check that any referenced CSS or JavaScript paths match where the files are placed in your project. The current roundup says the snippets are primarily plain HTML and CSS, and JavaScript is used only for some tooltip implementations.
- Preview the footer at the page widths and layouts where it will appear, and test it in the browsers relevant to your audience before publishing. Colorlib presents this as general implementation guidance; it does not report independent V17 testing.
License and release-date details
The individual template page lists a CC BY 3.0 license. Confirm the terms, including any attribution requirements, in the actual download package before using or redistributing the snippet. The page shows a February 10, 2021 post date while its details field says “Released: 2025.” The 2026 roundup says the snippets were rebuilt but does not resolve those dates, so an original release year cannot be stated confidently. The “2026” in this article’s topic should not be taken as proof that V17 first appeared that year.
