The “Bootstrap Accordion V18” resource cannot be verified from available sources: its publisher, code, license, release date, and supported Bootstrap version are unknown. What can be explained reliably is Bootstrap’s documented accordion behavior. In Bootstrap 5.3, an accordion uses the Collapse JavaScript plugin, and its markup can be configured to open a panel by default or allow several panels to remain open.

What is known about Bootstrap Accordion V18?

The name “Bootstrap Accordion V18 – Free Multipurpose Accordion 2026” suggests a downloadable template or component, but no identifiable publisher, repository, demo, or download page establishes that it is a real, current resource. Its license and Bootstrap compatibility are also unknown. Treat “V18” as an unverified name, not as a confirmed version or a description of tested features.

Bootstrap’s official documentation does establish how its own accordion works. The guidance below is for Bootstrap 5.3, not for the unidentified V18 resource. Bootstrap describes accordions as vertically collapsing components built with its Collapse JavaScript plugin; animation behavior responds to the prefers-reduced-motion media query. How does a Bootstrap 5 accordion behave?

Each accordion item has a button and a collapsible content area. Bootstrap’s collapse behavior opens or closes that area. To make items operate as a coordinated accordion group, place data-bs-parent on each collapsible area and point it to the group container. With that setting, opening one panel closes another in the same group. If you omit data-bs-parent, multiple panels can remain open at once.

Bootstrap 5 uses a dedicated .accordion component rather than the older card-based accordion pattern. The Bootstrap project noted this change in its Alpha 3 announcement on November 11, 2020: “We’ve dropped the .card based accordion for a brand new .accordion component, solving several bugs in the process.” This is historical context about Bootstrap, not evidence about V18. How do I open a Bootstrap accordion panel by default?

Set the expanded state on both the collapsible element and its trigger button. In Bootstrap 5.3, add .show to the panel, remove .collapsed from its button, and set the button’s aria-expanded attribute to true. Keeping these states aligned communicates the initial state to Bootstrap and assistive technology.

For the exact markup and attributes supported by that version, use the Bootstrap 5.3 accordion examples. Do not assume code labeled “V18” uses these same classes or data attributes until its Bootstrap version is confirmed.

How can multiple panels stay open?

Omit data-bs-parent from the collapsible panel elements. That allows each panel to be opened or closed independently instead of making the group close other open panels. Use data-bs-parent when the intended interaction is one open panel at a time.

What should you check before using a V18 download?

  • Confirm the publisher and source repository, so you can inspect where the files come from.
  • Check the stated Bootstrap version and compare the markup with documentation for that same version.
  • Read the license before using or redistributing the code; no license for the named V18 resource is established.
  • Verify the code and demo yourself. No features, browser support, or customization options for V18 are established.

Bootstrap’s v5.0 documentation also describes its accordion as using Collapse and notes the reduced-motion dependency. Keep version-specific examples tied to the documentation version you are using rather than mixing markup from different Bootstrap releases. Bootstrap 5.0 accordion documentation
