Blokify is a free, block-based 3D modeling app for learning to build digital models by placing virtual blocks. It combines guided projects with an open-ended Free Play mode, and can export finished models as STL or OBJ files for a separate 3D-printing workflow. You can use it without owning a printer.
What is Blokify?
Blokify, published by Sesher Inc., is a 3D modeling app that makes creating a model feel like building with digital blocks. Blue guide blocks help users learn where to place pieces; after learning the controls, they can switch to Free Play to make original designs. The official Blokify site describes it as a block-based 3D modeling app.
How does Blokify work?
Guided builds
In guided projects, blue blocks indicate the next placement. Completing parts of a build reveals the path forward, which helps new users understand how the pieces fit together without having to start with an empty workspace.
Free Play
Free Play lets users create their own models rather than follow a prescribed build. The App Store listing also describes themed building parts, including castle, space, city, and Egypt themes. Apple’s Blokify listing identifies it as an Education app.

Is Blokify free, and what devices support it?
Sesher says Blokify is free on iOS and Android. Apple lists support for iPhone and iPad, requires iOS 15.0 or later, and reports an app size of 302.5 MB. Apple gives the app a 4+ age rating and lists Sesher Inc. as the seller. At the time of Apple’s listing information, there were not enough ratings to show an overview; that is not a measure of the app’s quality.
Check the relevant app store for current device compatibility and availability before installing. The iOS version details above are Apple’s listing information; they should not be assumed to describe Android requirements.

Can you 3D print a Blokify model?
Yes. Blokify can export models as STL or OBJ files, which can be used in a separate slicing and printer workflow. Exporting a model does not itself print it: the file must be prepared with software and equipment compatible with the chosen 3D printer. The publisher says no Blokify-specific printer is required.
A 3D printer is optional. You can use Blokify to make and explore digital models without printing them. If you want to turn a design into a physical object, choose a 3D printer for Blokify models based on your own needs and confirm that your slicer and printer support the exported file and intended workflow. Blokify’s published materials do not recommend a particular printer brand or model.

Is Blokify suitable for kids or educational activities?
Its block-based controls and visual placement guidance make Blokify approachable for people who are new to 3D modeling. Apple’s 4+ age rating is a store rating, not a guarantee that every child can use the app independently; an adult or educator can help match an activity to the child’s experience and the device.
Blokify’s educational resources frame building as a design challenge rather than a single-answer exercise. A class, library, or makerspace could ask learners to design castle fortress gates, a space moon base, or an improved city block. The activity can follow a simple design loop:

- Name the problem the model should address.
- Sketch or describe the shapes needed.
- Build a quick version in Blokify.
- Rotate and inspect the model from different angles.
- Change one feature and consider whether the design improved.
- Explain the final design and the choices behind it.

- Room to experiment: Free Play supports original models, while themed parts provide starting points.
- Print-file exports: STL and OBJ export can connect a model to a compatible slicer and printer workflow.
- Not a complete printing system: slicing and physical printing happen outside Blokify, and require compatible tools and equipment.
- Not conventional CAD: its documented focus is block-based modeling, so users seeking the controls and workflows of a traditional CAD package may need a different tool.
Users can also save models, browse a community gallery, and share creations, according to the publisher and Apple listing. Feature availability may depend on the app version and platform.
