In Black Ops 6 Kill Confirmed, an elimination is only half the job: a player must collect the dropped Dog Tag to score. Pick up red enemy tags to earn team points and Scorestreak score; collect blue tags from fallen teammates to deny the opposing team a point. In standard public matches, the default target is 75 enemy tags, with the team holding the most tags winning if time expires.
How Kill Confirmed works
Every eliminated player drops a Dog Tag. That makes each fight a contest over what happens afterward: the elimination creates an opportunity, but a team scores only when someone collects the tag.
- Red tag: Dropped by an enemy. Collecting it scores a point for your team and adds score toward your Scorestreaks.
- Blue tag: Dropped by a teammate. Collecting it denies the opposing team a point and adds to your personal score.

How a match is won
The official guide says public matches default to a target of 75 enemy Dog Tags. If the timer runs out before a team reaches that target, the team with the most collected tags wins. The number is a game-rule target, not a study or performance statistic.

How to collect tags without giving up another point
A dropped tag can be watched by an opponent who expects someone to move in for it. Charging straight toward a tag may turn a won fight into an easy elimination—and leave another tag for the other team to collect.

Check the area before crossing
Clear nearby threats or use cover before moving toward an exposed tag. The official guide specifically suggests smoke, concussion, or flash equipment to help with a dangerous pickup.

Fighting near teammates makes it more likely that someone can collect tags after an engagement. It can also reduce the chance that an opponent reaches those tags first.

Keep elimination tools within pickup range
Traps and equipment can create eliminations, but they are useful to the objective only if your team can reach the resulting tags. Avoid setting up so far away that opponents can collect them uncontested.
Choose weapons for the fight around the tag
The official guide suggests Shotguns and SMGs because important fights often happen at close range near dropped tags, while noting that long-range threats still matter. This is the guide’s tactical advice, not an independent weapon-performance test.
