Bing 地图可用于查找地址和商家、浏览地点、使用 Streetside 查看有覆盖的街道，以及把地点保存到 My Places。路线规划、打印路线和离线地图的官方操作说明则针对 Windows Maps 应用；不要把这些应用功能默认当作 Bing 地图网站的功能。
先分清 Bing 地图网站与 Windows Maps 应用
Bing 地图是在浏览器中使用的地图服务；Windows Maps 是 Windows 应用。两者相关，但微软对具体功能的说明并不总是适用于两边。Bing 地图适合搜索和探索地点、保存地点，以及在有覆盖的区域查看 Streetside。微软的路线规划、逐步导航、打印和离线地图说明针对 Windows Maps 应用。选择时，先看你使用的是网站还是应用，再确认当地覆盖和界面实际提供的选项。
如何在 Bing 地图搜索地点
在 Bing 地图搜索框中输入地址、地标或商家名称。搜索结果可能包括地图上的位置和附近地点列表；显示哪些商家资料取决于地点及可用信息。微软表示，Bing 地图使用授权和公开可用的位置数据，商家可以通过 Bing Places 更新地点、联系方式和营业时间等资料。
- 结果不够明确时，在搜索词中加入城市、街区或完整地址。这有助于缩小地理范围，但不代表搜索排名或结果一定会按某种方式变化。
- 如果商家资料不准确，可由商家检查并更新 Bing Places 中的信息；地图上显示的内容仍受资料可用性影响。
如何在 Windows Maps 中规划路线
以下步骤来自微软的 Windows Maps 路线指引，适用于该应用，不应视为 Bing 地图网站上的逐项操作说明。

- 打开 Windows Maps，选择 Directions。
- 输入起点和目的地。检查起点是否正确，尤其是在当前位置检测不准时。
- 选择需要的交通方式，例如步行或公交；可用方式会因地区和界面而异。
- 如有需要，打开 Route options，选择界面提供的避让设置。
- 选择 Add destination 加入停靠点。长途行程可先确认起点和终点，再逐个添加停靠点；拖动目的地调整顺序。
- 查看路线结果。如果出现替代路线，分别检查路线详情，再选择合适的一条。
- 需要时开始逐步导航，或使用应用提供的打印路线选项。
路线选择和可用选项会受地区及当前界面影响；不要假定每个地方都会显示相同的交通方式或替代路线。
如何使用 Streetside
Streetside 是街道视角浏览功能。微软将其描述为让用户仿佛正在街上步行或驾车一样探索地点和地标。它只在有覆盖的区域可用，地图上的着色区域提示覆盖范围；没有着色区域时，通常不能从该处进入 Streetside。

- 在地图导航栏中选择 Streetside。
- 选择地图上着色的覆盖区域进入街景视图。若某地点卡片提供 Streetside 入口，也可从卡片进入。
- 使用街道箭头移动，或拖动视角查看周围环境。
街道影像是否可用取决于具体地点。微软的 Streetside 说明介绍了该功能，但不能据此推断所有城市或道路都有覆盖。
如何保存地点到 My Places
搜索地点或浏览地图时，使用页面提供的保存入口将地点加入 My Places。以后可从 Bing 菜单打开 My Places，也可访问 Bing Maps 的 My Places 页面。保存地点适合整理旅行候选地、常去地点或之后想再查看的位置。不同设备和界面上的入口可能有所不同；微软的 保存地点说明介绍了 My Places 的用途。
