The most reliable way to thank Super Chat senders during a prerecorded YouTube livestream is to have a moderator monitor live chat and relay suitable messages during a short, planned thank-you pause. You can then thank the sender aloud, highlight an appropriate comment on screen, or use YouTube’s built-in heart. YouTube recommends these kinds of acknowledgments generally; the planned pause is a practical adaptation for prerecorded video, not a special YouTube feature or required format.
Choose a thank-you method that fits the broadcast
Live streams and Premieres can have live chat, and eligible chats may support Super Chats and Super Stickers. A prerecorded program can therefore still have audience interaction while it plays, provided chat is open and someone is watching it.

YouTube’s creator tips recommend a simple thank-you, recognizing a viewer’s contribution, and highlighting a comment onscreen. Decide who will watch chat
Before the event, assign a moderator to follow live chat and surface messages for the host. Decide how the host will receive those messages while the prerecorded video plays—for example, through an agreed signal or a private communication channel. The exact setup is up to your production; YouTube does not prescribe a special arrangement for prerecorded streams.

Build in a flexible pause
If the host will acknowledge senders aloud, leave a short flexible break in the video or reserve a brief end segment. This gives the host room to respond without talking over important program content. If no one will monitor chat, use a prepared thank-you in the video and avoid implying that it responds to a specific live contribution.
Thank senders without disrupting the program
- Have the moderator review the message. Surface only a message that is appropriate to read or show. YouTube provides live-chat moderation controls, and Super Chats can be moderated like other chat messages; see YouTube’s live-chat moderation guidance.
- Keep the acknowledgment brief and specific. Say the sender’s name and a plain thank-you. YouTube’s creator tips recommend recognizing contributions and note the value of a simple thank-you. Do not promise a personal reply unless someone is available to provide one.
- Choose the least disruptive delivery. Say the thank-you during the planned pause, show a suitable message onscreen, or heart the Super Chat or Sticker. You can use more than one method when it suits the moment, but there is no need to turn every contribution into a long interruption.
- Recognize support without ranking spenders. YouTube suggests shouting out top contributors who consistently support streams. You can thank regular supporters for their continued presence or contribution without creating pressure for viewers to spend more.
Make the acknowledgment visible in the replay
A spoken or onscreen thank-you recorded as part of the program remains in that video’s replay. Live-chat replay may also appear alongside an archived stream when enabled. YouTube says creators can turn live-chat replay off in video customization, so check that setting if you want the chat record to accompany the archive: YouTube’s live-chat replay help.

If the video includes a prepared thank-you recorded before the event, make its timing clear so viewers do not mistake it for a response to a particular live message. If live chat was not actively monitored, do not imply that every sender received an individual acknowledgment.
Do not confuse Super Chat with Super Thanks
Super Chat is a paid message in live chat for live streams and Premieres. Super Thanks is a separate paid comment feature for eligible long-form videos and Shorts. YouTube says Super Thanks is unavailable on live streams or Premieres while they are live, though it may be available on eligible archived long-form videos afterward.
