For a single meditation video, use YouTube’s built-in Loop or Repeat control; you do not need a paid streaming service just to repeat it. On a computer, right-click the video and choose Loop. In the YouTube mobile app, open the video’s Settings, select Additional settings, then Loop video. On a TV or gaming console, use the player’s Repeat control and select repeat for the current video. YouTube documents these controls across those device groups, but they do not guarantee a device will stay awake, connected, or playing all day. YouTube Help explains the repeat controls.
Which option should you use?
Choose based on what you need beyond repeating the video: the device you will play it on, whether ads are a concern, whether the screen must be off, and whether you want to repeat the whole video, a playlist, or only a segment.
| Option | Best for | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube Loop/Repeat | Repeating one meditation video, or a playlist | Built into YouTube. It is the simplest choice for a full-video loop and does not require Premium. Menu labels vary by device. |
| YouTube Premium | People who also want ad-free playback or background play in the mobile app | Looping alone does not require a subscription. Background play is available in YouTube’s mobile apps where supported; benefits and availability can vary by location. Check YouTube Premium benefits. |
| YouTube Premium Lite | People considering a lower-tier plan in an eligible market | YouTube’s February 24, 2026 announcement described background play and downloads for most videos, with rollout in markets where Lite is available. Availability can vary by country and account. YouTube says Premium remains the option for all videos, including music content, and YouTube Music Premium. Read YouTube’s announcement. |
| VideoOnRepeat | A selected A–B section or custom queue | The operator describes full-video looping, A–B loops, queues, and browser use without signup. These are the operator’s claims, not independently verified reliability or privacy findings. See VideoOnRepeat. |
How to loop a meditation video on each device
Computer
- Open the video on YouTube.
- Right-click inside the video player.
- Select Loop. When the video reaches its end, YouTube repeats it.
Phone or tablet
- Open the video in the YouTube app.
- Tap Settings in the player.
- Tap Additional settings, then Loop video.
TV or gaming console
- Start the video in the YouTube app.
- Press down on the remote or controller to show the player controls.
- Select Repeat until it indicates the current video will repeat. Depending on the app, the option may also appear in the video’s Settings menu.
For a playlist, use the playlist’s repeat control if you want the entire sequence to cycle rather than the current video. YouTube’s help page covers repeat for both videos and playlists; exact controls may vary by device category.
What to check for all-day playback
Loop mode controls what happens when the video ends; it does not prevent the device, app, or network from interrupting playback. Before leaving it running, check the practical conditions that can stop a long session:

- Your favorite music and content – Play music, audiobooks, and podcasts from Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify and others or via Bluetooth throughout your home.
- Alexa is happy to help – Ask Alexa for weather updates and to set hands-free timers, get answers to your questions and even hear jokes. Need a few extra minutes in the morning? Just tap your Echo Dot to snooze your alarm.
- Keep your home comfortable – Control compatible smart home devices with your voice and routines triggered by built-in motion or indoor temperature sensors. Create routines to automatically turn on lights when you walk into a room, or start a fan if the inside temperature goes above your comfort zone.
- Do more with device pairing – Fill your home with music using compatible Echo devices in different rooms, or create a home theatre system with Fire TV.
- Say goodbye to drop-offs and buffering - With eero Built-in, Echo Dot doubles as a mesh wifi extender, adding up to 1,000 sq. ft. of wifi coverage to your existing eero network.
- Power: Connect the device to reliable power, especially if it is a phone or tablet.
- Network: Use a stable internet connection and confirm the video can continue loading.
- Sleep and screen settings: Review sleep timers, screen savers, and automatic power-off settings on the device or TV.
- App restrictions: Check battery-saving or background restrictions that may pause the YouTube app.
- Cast behavior: If casting, check both the device initiating playback and the receiving TV or streaming device; either may affect the session.
- Loop state: Verify that repeat is still set for the intended video or playlist.
YouTube’s instructions explain how to enable repeat, not a guaranteed uninterrupted session length on every device.
When does a paid plan make sense?
Do not buy YouTube Premium solely to unlock looping: the repeat control is built into YouTube. Consider Premium only if its other benefits, such as ad-free viewing or mobile background play where available, matter to you. Premium Lite may suit some viewers, but YouTube described its new background-play and download features as applying to most videos and rolling out in eligible markets; check current local availability before subscribing.
