There is no proven “best” India VPS for a 24/7 YouTube stream in the available evidence: none of the providers below has been independently load-tested for continuous streaming. Compare the actual India location, sustained outbound capacity, monthly transfer allowance, and what happens when you hit the cap—not just the advertised port speed. For a pre-recorded loop, live camera production, and server-side encoding, requirements differ; the evidence here does not establish minimum CPU or RAM sizing for any of those workloads.

Start with the bandwidth YouTube requires

YouTube’s recommended ingest bitrate depends on resolution, frame rate, and codec. For H.264, its listed recommendations include 14 Mbps for 1080p30 and 17 Mbps for 1080p60. These are YouTube ingest recommendations, not measured VPS requirements. YouTube also supports RTMP/RTMPS and recommends RTMPS for encrypted transport, CBR encoding, frame rates up to 60 fps, and a two-second keyframe interval that should not exceed four seconds. See YouTube’s encoder settings guide.

H.264 stream format YouTube recommended bitrate
720p30 8 Mbps
720p60 8 Mbps
1080p30 14 Mbps
1080p60 17 Mbps
2160p30 (4K) 42 Mbps
2160p60 (4K) 50 Mbps

YouTube’s bandwidth guidance is: “Have enough bandwidth: The total bitrate that you’re streaming cannot exceed the amount of upload bandwidth available. Leave a bit of room (20% recommended).” The VPS needs enough outbound bandwidth for the configured stream plus that headroom; a port-speed figure alone does not confirm what one VPS can sustain. See YouTube’s streaming tips.

Estimate monthly transfer before choosing a plan

For a constant bitrate, estimated decimal transfer is about bitrate in Mbps × 0.45 GB per hour, or bitrate × 324 GB over 30 days. On that basis, a continuous 14 Mbps stream uses about 4.54 TB per 30-day month, and 17 Mbps uses about 5.51 TB. These estimates exclude separately counted audio if it is outside the stated bitrate, protocol overhead, reconnects, and a safety margin.

This is one outgoing ingest feed from the VPS to YouTube; it is not multiplied by the number of viewers watching the YouTube stream. Compare the estimate with the included monthly transfer and the provider’s post-cap policy. A plan that slows to a rate below the chosen ingest bitrate may no longer support that stream reliably.

India VPS listings to investigate

The following are provider-listed specifications, not an independent ranking or proof of stable 24/7 delivery. Locations, allowances, prices, SLA terms, and network policies can change; confirm the current listing and service terms before ordering.

Provider and listed location Published network or transfer details What to verify
Melbicom Mumbai VPS The listing gives plan-dependent allowances: 2 TB for KVM-1/WIN-2, 4 TB for KVM-2/WIN-4, and 5 TB for higher tiers. It says speed is limited to 10 Mbps after the allowance, with no overage fees. The provider recommends unmetered dedicated servers with guaranteed bandwidth for sustained high throughput or guaranteed capacity. A 10 Mbps post-cap rate is below YouTube’s H.264 recommendations for 1080p30 and 1080p60. Confirm the current plan’s cap terms and whether they apply to your workload.
VyomCloud Mumbai VPS The listing presents plan-specific vCPU, RAM, storage, monthly traffic, port speed, and prices. The smallest shown includes 0.5 TB traffic and a 100 Mbps port; higher tiers list up to 60 TB traffic and a 1,000 Mbps port. The page states a 99.5% uptime SLA. Ask how traffic is counted, what happens at the cap, and what sustained outbound capacity and route to YouTube the plan can deliver. The listed port speed and latency claim are provider statements, not independent measurements.
VirtVPS Mumbai VPS The listing shows six plans with 500 GB to 4 TB monthly traffic and 10 Gbps network ports, alongside plan resources and prices. A 10 Gbps port does not establish the sustained bandwidth available to one VPS. Check allowance, contention terms, performance, and checkout conditions.

How to choose and validate a VPS

  1. Match the location to your needs. Confirm the actual city or region where the instance will run. Then measure outbound connectivity from the provisioned VPS to YouTube; a location listing or sales claim does not prove route quality or stability.
  2. Check the sustained rate. Ask whether the advertised port speed is shared, burstable, or guaranteed, and what fair-use or contention conditions apply. Allow YouTube’s recommended 20% bandwidth headroom.
  3. Compare transfer allowance with your calculation. Use the actual configured bitrate and runtime, then include a margin for overhead and reconnects. Find out whether reaching the monthly allowance causes throttling, overage charges, or interruption.
  4. Size for the actual workload. Relaying an already encoded stream and encoding video on the VPS are different jobs. If the server will encode, assess CPU and RAM for the codec, resolution, and frame rate; no minimum sizing is established by the provider information summarized here.
  5. Ask about recovery and support. Get specific answers about packet loss, encoder or relay process failure, instance reboot, monitoring, and transfer-cap throttling. An SLA is a contractual provider claim, not evidence that a particular stream will stay healthy.
  6. Check total cost and terms. Confirm current prices, renewal rates, applicable taxes, and any relevant service conditions at checkout. Published listing details are not a substitute for the terms attached to the plan you buy.

Set up the stream and monitor it

Once you have a VPS, install and configure an encoder or relay appropriate to your workflow, and use YouTube Live’s ingest details for the broadcast. The exact configuration depends on whether you are encoding on the VPS or forwarding an already encoded feed; confirm that the software can maintain the selected bitrate and reconnect after interruptions.

  • Choose RTMPS where your encoder supports it, and use the stream key supplied in YouTube Live settings. Treat the key as a password: do not publish it or expose it in logs or screenshots.
  • Use CBR where applicable, set the keyframe interval to two seconds, and do not exceed four seconds. Match the bitrate to the resolution, frame rate, and ingest codec you selected.
  • Test before relying on a continuous stream. Check YouTube’s preview, stream health, and status messages; confirm both outbound bandwidth and transfer use from the VPS.
  • For a long-running feed, arrange monitoring and a restart or reconnect procedure. Ask the provider how instance reboots and network interruptions are handled rather than assuming the VPS will restart your encoder automatically.

Keep in mind that a VPS only transports or processes your media; it does not grant rights to the content. Use material you own or are licensed to stream, and review YouTube’s applicable copyright and monetization policies, including rules relevant to reused content. A continuous loop is not itself evidence that the content is eligible for monetization.

Or let it run in the cloud

StreamNeo is #1 for a YouTube pre-recorded loop when the priority is avoiding a server you must configure and keep running: it streams continuously from the cloud, supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and the first day is free.

  1. Upload a recording or build a playlist.
  2. Add your YouTube stream key once.
  3. Go live; StreamNeo loops the uploaded video from the cloud.

Your computer and home connection do not have to stay on. StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. Each slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB storage per slot pooled across active slots, playlists and 24/7 looping, automatic recovery, and StreamNeo team support.
