Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallFor a bright room, choose a TV by how well it handles reflections and keeps the picture visible in your actual viewing conditions—not by peak-brightness claims alone. This six-model shortlist combines RTINGS’ current bright-room recommendations with distinct OLED and Mini-LED comparison candidates. The recommendations are primarily US-focused; Samsung’s manufacturer guidance is UK- and Canada-specific. Check your country’s exact model suffix, local stock, and warranty before buying.
How to choose a TV for a bright room
Three factors matter together: useful brightness, reflection handling, and contrast visibility. A TV may produce intense HDR highlights yet still show window reflections, or lose detail in darker parts of a picture when daylight washes out the screen. Match the set to the room, the content you watch, and where people sit.
- Reflection handling: assess how strongly the screen reflects windows and lamps, and whether its surface diffuses incoming light. These are related but different effects. Samsung’s UK guide explains that anti-reflection softens visible reflections while anti-glare diffuses incoming light across the screen surface; this is manufacturer guidance, not an independent standard. Samsung UK’s bright-room guide.
- Brightness in context: ask whether a figure is an HDR highlight in a small window or brightness across a full screen, and whether it is a manufacturer claim or a reviewer’s measurement. Neither figure alone describes every scene.
- Picture visibility: check contrast and local dimming, especially if you watch films with dark scenes during the day. More brightness does not automatically mean dark details remain clear.
- Room and use: consider viewing angle, screen size, sports and gaming needs, budget, and whether direct sunlight hits the screen.
Six bright-room TV picks for 2026
The first five models below are in RTINGS’ current bright-room guide, whose recommendations and category labels are that reviewer’s editorial judgments, not a universal ranking. The sixth is a comparison candidate drawn from current review coverage, not an RTINGS pick. The available evidence does not establish a common test across all six, so treat the models as options for different rooms rather than a measured head-to-head order.
1. Sony BRAVIA 9 II — strongest overall bright-room pick
RTINGS names the BRAVIA 9 II its best overall bright-room TV, saying it maintains picture quality in bright rooms better than the Samsung S95H it replaced in July 2026. That is RTINGS’ judgment, not a standardized comparison of all six models in this list. The cited material does not state a tested size, screen finish, brightness measurement, price, or current stock for the BRAVIA 9 II. Check the exact regional model and availability before treating it as a purchase-ready recommendation. RTINGS’ bright-room guide.

2. Sony BRAVIA 7 II — mid-range option
RTINGS added the BRAVIA 7 II to its bright-room recommendations in September 2026 and positions it as a mid-range choice. The cited guide does not establish its screen finish, test size, brightness measurement, price, or present availability. It is a candidate to compare locally, not evidence that it will outperform every similarly priced set in a sunny room. RTINGS’ bright-room guide.
3. Hisense U7SG — higher-tier alternative
RTINGS lists the U7SG as a higher-tier option and moved it in its category lineup in September 2026 to reflect its market position. The guide says the U6SF Pro is not as bright as the U7SG, but the supplied coverage does not give a U7SG brightness measurement, test size, screen finish, price, or stock status. Compare the local listing and warranty before deciding whether its tier is worth the additional cost. RTINGS’ bright-room guide.

4. Samsung S95H OLED — reflection-control comparison
Samsung’s 2026 UK guide presents the S95H OLED as an option where reflection control matters; its Canadian guide describes the model’s Glare Free features. These are manufacturer descriptions of design intent, not comparable independent measurements. Separately, Omdia’s 2026 CES recap reported Samsung’s announcement that the S95H is 35% brighter than its predecessor. That is an announcement claim, not an independently measured brightness result. The cited material does not establish a test size, screen finish measurement, price, or availability across markets. Verify the precise regional model. Samsung UK guide; Samsung Canada guide; Omdia CES recap.
5. Hisense U6SF Pro — budget pick with credible glare handling
RTINGS names the U6SF Pro its budget pick and says it can overcome daytime glare, with bright sports remaining easy to see. It is less bright than the U7SG; RTINGS also notes weaker local dimming and less vibrant color, with more glow around bright objects in dark viewing. The reviewer says its reflections are easier to manage than those on the Vizio Mini LED Quantum 4K. The source does not provide a brightness measurement, test size, price, or current stock in the cited material. RTINGS’ bright-room guide.

6. TCL QM7L — mid-range Mini-LED comparison candidate
TechRadar’s 2026 review discusses the QM7L in a sunnier-room placement and reports that the picture remained easier to see. TCL specifications reported by TechRadar list up to 3,000 nits peak brightness and up to 2,100 local-dimming zones; TechRadar separately measured an SDR peak of 463.3909 nits in standard mode. These figures describe different evidence and contexts, so do not compare the specification directly with the SDR measurement. The review lists SQD Mini-LED, 144Hz, and Dolby Vision IQ. Confirm the model’s availability and regional naming before purchase; the cited material does not establish current price or a common reflection test against the other picks. TechRadar’s TCL QM7L review.
What brightness figures can—and cannot—tell you
A small highlight window tests a different situation from a full-screen white image. In AVForums’ 2025 test of the LG OLED65G5, it reported 2,272 nits in a 10% window and 332 nits fullscreen. In its 2024 test of the Sony BRAVIA 9 65XR90, it reported 2,816 nits in a 10% window and 729 nits fullscreen. These are measurements of different models in different years; they illustrate why a highlight peak is not a sustained full-screen figure, not which 2026 pick is brighter. The available information does not establish that those older tested models are equivalent to the BRAVIA 9 II or the other current candidates. AVForums measurements.

Very sunny room or large windows
Prioritize reflection performance alongside brightness. Samsung’s UK guide positions the QN80H Neo QLED, using Mini LED, for larger, sunnier rooms, while its S95H OLED serves a different reflection-control use case. The Canadian guide similarly describes the QN80H’s Quantum Mini LED approach. These are manufacturer recommendations, not independent comparative test results. If sunlight strikes the screen directly, verify performance in a store or buy from a seller with a return policy that suits you. Samsung UK guide; Samsung Canada guide.

Daytime sports on a budget
The U6SF Pro is the most targeted pick in this list for a lower-cost bright-room use case: RTINGS says it handles daytime glare and keeps sports easy to see. Balance that against its weaker local dimming and less vibrant color, particularly if you also watch movies in a dark room. RTINGS’ bright-room guide.
OLED and reflection concerns
OLED versus QLED is not, by itself, a complete bright-room decision. Samsung recommends the S95H OLED for reflection-conscious rooms and the QN80H Mini LED for larger, sunnier spaces, while Tom’s Guide’s late-September 2026 S90H coverage describes a glare-free display and reports no noticeable glare in a moderately lit test lab. That lab result does not establish performance in direct sunlight. Tom’s Guide also lists four HDMI 2.1 inputs and support up to 4K/165Hz for capable PCs, useful details for gaming but not proof of bright-room superiority. Samsung UK guide; Tom’s Guide S90H coverage.
Covered outdoor viewing
Samsung’s UK guide names The Terrace for covered outdoor settings. That is a different use case from an indoor living room; confirm weather exposure requirements and the exact regional product before considering it. Samsung UK guide.
