Fast & Furious Spy Racers is the closest match if you want cars, racing, undercover missions, and criminal organizations in one show. It is animated, however, and Netflix rates it 7+. For real racers competing on an obstacle course, try Hyperdrive; for modified-car showdowns, try Fastest Car. None of these recommendations combines every part of the film franchise in a live-action drama.

Which show is closest to Fast & Furious?

Fast & Furious Spy Racers: racing with a crime plot

This animated spin-off is the strongest all-around match. DreamWorks describes Tony Toretto and a group of teenagers being recruited to infiltrate an elite racing league that fronts for a criminal organization. Netflix describes six seasons of undercover missions against dangerous criminal organizations. It combines racing, spy action, and crime, but its animation and family audience make it a different experience from the live-action films. DreamWorks’ series page and Netflix’s listing provide the premise and audience rating.

Best choices for street-racing competition

Hyperdrive: obstacle-course racing

Netflix describes Hyperdrive as a 2019 reality competition in which 28 elite street racers navigate an obstacle course. The series has 10 episodes. It delivers driving skill and competition rather than a scripted heist or crime narrative. Netflix’s listing describes the series format.

Fastest Car: sleepers against supercars

Fastest Car puts modified sleeper cars up against sought-after supercars. Netflix’s 2018 announcement says each episode matches three sleeper cars against a supercar; its media-center description says episodes are hour-long and gives examples such as a Honda CRX and a Pontiac minivan facing exotics. It is a car rivalry format, not a crime drama. See Netflix’s announcement and Netflix Media Center.

More car-focused shows, with a different kind of action

Drive Hard: The Maloof Way: builds and stunts

Netflix follows the Maloofs, a family of stunt drivers and gearheads who build powerful engines and perform stunts. Sammy Maloof has worked on multiple Fast & Furious films, but the series is about car culture and stunt work rather than an undercover or heist plot. Netflix’s series listing describes the family and its work.

Formula 1: Drive to Survive: professional motorsport

This documentary series follows the people and teams of Formula 1, including drivers, owners, and managers. It suits viewers drawn to competition and rivalries, but the racing is professional circuit motorsport—not street racing. Netflix announced its seventh season for March 2025. Check Netflix’s listing for the series description and local catalog information.

The Grand Tour: travel and automotive challenges

The Grand Tour is a motoring-adventure choice rather than a street-racing or heist series. In an announcement dated 5 February 2026, Amazon UK said a new six-part series featuring Francis Bourgeois, James Engelsman, and Thomas Holland would launch on Prime Video later in 2026 in more than 240 countries and territories. That announcement describes planned future programming; it does not confirm that the series has premiered or is currently available. Read Amazon UK’s announcement.

Icons Unearthed: Fast & Furious: franchise history

Apple TV lists this 2023 documentary series, which traces the franchise’s development. Its episode descriptions cover the origins in illegal street racing, the different approach to racing in Tokyo Drift, and Fast Five’s shift toward a heist picture. It is the most directly relevant companion for franchise history, but it is a documentary rather than a fictional series. Apple TV’s series page.
