The best TMNT collection depends on which Turtles you want: Arrow Video’s limited-edition trilogy is the clearest match for fans of the original live-action films, while the 1987, 2003, and 2012 cartoons each have a separate complete-series DVD collection. None of these sets covers the whole franchise, so choose by era and format first.
Which TMNT collection should you buy?
| What you want to watch | Best-fit collection | Documented format and scope |
|---|---|---|
| The first three live-action movies | Arrow Video Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Trilogy [Limited Edition] | 4K Ultra HD or Blu-ray; three-film trilogy |
| The classic 1987 cartoon | The Complete Classic Series Collection | DVD; the series comprises 193 episodes |
| The 2003 cartoon | The Complete Series | DVD box set |
| The 2012 cartoon | Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Complete Series | DVD |
These are distinct releases, not interchangeable versions of one all-franchise set. Available release records document the animated complete-series options on DVD; they do not establish Blu-ray editions for those shows.

Best for the 1987 cartoon: complete-series DVD
The 1987 show’s home-video record describes a 23-disc complete collection with all 193 episodes and bonus features. It also records a new DVD version of The Complete Classic Series Collection released by Nickelodeon and Paramount Home Entertainment on October 15, 2024. The episode count belongs to the series record; do not assume the 2024 edition has the same disc count or bonus content as the earlier 23-disc set. See the 1987 series home-video record and release entry.
For a fan who wants the classic cartoon rather than the films, this is the documented physical-media route. Check the exact edition’s disc count, packaging, region, and playback compatibility before buying; the cited records do not confirm current inventory.

For Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (2016), Paramount listed DVD, Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D, and 4K Ultra HD combo editions. How to choose the right edition
- Pick the incarnation: decide between the original live-action trilogy and the 1987, 2003, or 2012 animated series. A set labeled complete refers to its named show or film grouping, not the entire TMNT franchise.
- Choose the format your player supports: the trilogy is cataloged in 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray, while the documented complete animated-series sets are DVDs. Check that your player supports the disc format before purchase.
- Confirm the exact listing: verify edition name, disc count, included films or episodes, bonus content, subtitles, region restrictions, and seller stock. Catalog listings and release records do not settle every package detail.
- Compare current prices at checkout: the Arrow trilogy’s catalog suggested retail prices are historical listing information, not a guarantee of today’s price or availability.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
