Supercell scheduled Spooky Chess for October 5–19, 2026. The Clash Royale team describes the objective as: “Defeat your opponent’s wall of troops and towers and take down their King while defending yours.” The league offers two possible badges: one for completing the league road and another for placing in the leaderboard’s top 10,000. Supercell’s seasonal announcement is the official source for the dates, objective, and badge rewards.
This is not ordinary ladder deck selection. The crowded field rewards tools that can handle groups while creating pressure on towers. TigerJek’s guide describes Guards protecting towers and recurring Dark Prince pressure; treat those mechanics as guide-reported details and confirm the rules shown in your live event client. The same guide lists Miner, Earthquake, Lightning, Rocket, Fireball, Poison, Void, Royal Recruits, and Goblin Drill as banned. Since event eligibility can change, rely on the card picker rather than an older list when building your deck.

RoyaleAPI’s Spooky Chess page showed 80,082 battles for its selected one-day window when viewed on October 7, 2026. The leading results included the following decks. Percentages and use counts are a snapshot, not season-long results; the samples differ substantially in size.

TigerJek’s October 6 guide recommends Evo Executioner / Hero Bowler / Ronin with Arrows, Vines, Zap, Skeleton Dragons, and Ice Spirit. The author’s reasoning is that the crowded arena makes splash damage valuable, with Evo Executioner and Hero Bowler as preferred tools. This is the guide author’s recommendation, not an independently tested ranking. Consider it if you want area control and can support the core cards with your available levels and event-legal options.

TigerJek also presents Evo Witch / Hero Bowler / Giant Skeleton with Arrows, Vines, Evo Zap, Flying Machine, and Ice Spirit. The guide says Giant Skeleton’s death bomb can help against groups, while Flying Machine supplies ranged support; it also names Skeleton Dragons as an alternative. This is another attributed guide list, so test it against the live rules and the cards you own rather than assuming it is a universal counter.

How to choose a list that fits
- Need to clear groups? Prioritize splash and area control. The guides specifically favor cards such as Evo Executioner, Hero Bowler, Evo Witch, and Evo Furnace for crowded-board pressure.
- Want to keep tower pressure constant? Choose a cycle-oriented build you can play comfortably. TigerJek’s guide recommends small spells to chip towers while managing troops; the official objective still requires breaking through to the King.
- Prefer a larger push? A heavier list can bring more sustained support, but its higher average cost can make it harder to respond quickly. The guide-backed options range from the 3.0 fast-cycle archetype to 3.7-cost sustained-push and beatdown archetypes.
- Missing a key card or facing a ban? Do not force a copied list. Start from the same role—splash, ranged support, or cycle pressure—and confirm every slot is available in the event card picker.
Save and switch to your Spooky Chess deck
Supercell Support says players can save up to 10 decks per mode and copy a deck from the Decks view into a mode reached through Battle Hub. Saving a separate event list helps avoid queuing with a ladder deck by mistake.
- Open Decks and create or copy the list you want to use.
- Open Battle Hub and select Spooky Chess.
- Return to the deck controls, choose a Spooky Chess deck slot, and paste or assemble the list there.
- Before queueing, check the event’s current card picker for bans and confirm the selected deck is the one assigned to the mode.

The clearest evidence-based starting point is GK GS Spirit Empress EvoWitch, based on its combination of a 67.0% observed win rate and 2,872 uses in RoyaleAPI’s October 7 one-day view. Hog EvoMusk Phoenix posted a higher 69.9%, but across only 554 uses in that same snapshot. Neither stat settles which deck is best for a particular player. The guide lists are useful alternatives when you want a more explicit play-style rationale; their recommendations are editorial, not tracker rankings.
