On Samsung Galaxy foldables, Accidental touch protection is the main setting for preventing pocket or bag touches. Touch sensitivity can help when a screen protector makes taps harder to register, but it does not flatten the screen’s centre crease. Samsung describes that crease as a natural feature of its foldable displays, not something a setting can remove.
The menu paths below are for Samsung Galaxy devices. Available options and labels can vary by model and software version.
How do I stop my foldable phone from waking up in my pocket?
Turn on Accidental touch protection
- Open Settings > Display.
- Turn on Accidental touch protection.
Samsung says this feature keeps the screen inactive in dark locations such as a pocket or bag. If you are deliberately using your phone somewhere dark and the protection screen appears, dismiss it with the on-screen lock prompt. See Samsung’s instructions for preventing accidental screen touches.

If a Galaxy Z Flip fingerprint sensor activates by mistake
Search Settings for Fingerprint always on and turn it off, or choose the screen scope you want if your device offers that option. This control is described for Galaxy Z Flip models; do not assume it is available on every foldable. Samsung’s Galaxy accidental-touch guidance notes that menus and features can vary by model and software.

Should Touch sensitivity be on with a screen protector?
If a fitted protector is making taps difficult to register, try enabling Touch sensitivity. If no film is fitted and the screen is responding too sensitively or behaving abnormally, Samsung advises turning the setting off. The right choice depends on the protector and the symptom, rather than on foldables as a category. Follow Samsung’s touchscreen troubleshooting guidance.
A protector that is lifting, more than one film, or dust or air trapped beneath a protector can also interfere with touch response. Check those issues before assuming a software setting is the cause.

Can I reduce the crease on my foldable screen?
There is no documented setting in Samsung’s guidance that removes or reduces the physical centre crease. Samsung says, “You may notice a crease at the center of the main screen. This is a natural characteristic of the phone.” Its guide to using a Galaxy foldable opened or closed treats the crease as a normal feature.

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold5 guidance likewise says the crease is not itself a defect. A markedly deep or uneven change, or a crease accompanied by display or touch problems, is a reason to contact Samsung support for an assessment rather than trying an unverified setting. How should I handle the inner-screen protective film?
Do not casually peel off or replace the factory film on a Galaxy Z Fold or Z Flip main screen. Samsung warns that removing it or using non-official film may cause touch abnormalities or screen damage. If replacement is needed, Samsung directs users to a service centre; its film-removal precautions say to seek assistance. If the factory film has been removed, Samsung instructs users to turn Touch sensitivity off.
Avoid pressing on the fold area, and do not fold the phone with foreign objects between the screens. Samsung’s protective-film guidance for the Z Flip4 and Z Fold4 describes the film as consumable and includes these handling cautions.
