YouTube Studio is the simplest choice for most creators who want to upload several videos to YouTube: You can select up to 15 videos at a time, then edit each video’s details and choose whether to publish it, keep it private or schedule it. For a paid video catalog, Vimeo OTT offers batch uploads; for a cloud-based video library, Vimeo has mobile and cloud-storage workflows. YouTube’s spreadsheet-based bulk delivery is a separate option for eligible Content Manager partners.
Which service fits your batch-upload workflow?
| Service or method | Who it suits | How the batch works | Key limit or detail |
|---|---|---|---|
| YouTube Studio | Individual creators uploading to YouTube | Select multiple files from a computer in one upload flow; edit each video’s details. | Up to 15 videos at a time, according to YouTube Help. |
| YouTube Content Manager Package Uploader | Eligible rights holders and partners delivering many assets | Send video and audio assets with a spreadsheet containing metadata, with one row per asset. | Not a general YouTube Studio feature. YouTube describes SFTP or Aspera for partners regularly delivering over 100 assets monthly. YouTube’s upload-method guide |
| Vimeo OTT | Publishers selling subscriptions, purchases or rentals | Drag and drop a batch from a computer or upload through Dropbox; processing and transcoding happen after upload. | Up to 250 GB per computer batch or 50 GB per Dropbox batch. Vimeo OTT upload guidance |
| Vimeo hosting | Creators organizing a video library, including from mobile or supported cloud storage | Use the mobile app for multi-select and folder/privacy actions, or use listed cloud upload options. | Vimeo says its mobile bulk-upload feature is included with all plans. Its general file guidance recommends keeping individual files under 200 GB; this is not a batch cap. Mobile guidance · File preparation guidance |
| SproutVideo | Teams uploading multiple videos to a hosted library | Its documented multi-file uploader queues files and processes them one at a time. | No numeric queue limit is stated in its help article, last updated March 24, 2023. SproutVideo Support |
Upload multiple videos to YouTube Studio
For a regular YouTube channel, start in YouTube Studio rather than looking for a separate bulk-upload service. YouTube’s current desktop instructions allow a selection of up to 15 videos at a time. Multi-select makes file selection faster, but each video still needs its own details and visibility decision.
- Open YouTube Studio and select Create, then Upload videos.
- Select the files from your computer. You can choose up to 15 videos in that selection, as described by YouTube Help.
- For each video, review and complete its details. Multi-select does not automatically supply titles, descriptions, thumbnails, audience settings or other video-specific information.
- Choose the visibility and publication approach for each upload. You can leave a video private or schedule it instead of making it public immediately.
- Wait for upload and processing to finish. YouTube says HD and 4K processing may take longer depending on video quality, length, format and traffic.
Uploading a file is not the same as publishing it. If you close the upload window before choosing visibility, YouTube says the video is saved as private. A separate daily upload limit applies across desktop, mobile and API; the cited help page does not state its amount. Selecting 15 files does not bypass that limit. See YouTube’s upload instructions for the current workflow.

When YouTube’s partner bulk-delivery tools apply
YouTube also documents bulk asset delivery through Content Manager. This is aimed at eligible partners such as rights holders and distributors, not a setting that ordinary channel owners can enable in Studio.
#1 Best Overall
- Get NVMe solid state performance with up to 1050MB/s read and 1000MB/s write speeds in a portable, high-capacity drive(1) (Based on internal testing; performance may be lower depending on host device & other factors. 1MB=1,000,000 bytes.)
- Up to 3-meter drop protection and IP65 water and dust resistance mean this tough drive can take a beating(3) (Previously rated for 2-meter drop protection and IP55 rating. Now qualified for the higher, stated specs.)
- Use the handy carabiner loop to secure it to your belt loop or backpack for extra peace of mind.
- Help keep private content private with the included password protection featuring 256‐bit AES hardware encryption.(3)
- Easily manage files and automatically free up space with the SanDisk Memory Zone app.(5). Non-Operating Temperature -20°C to 85°C
Package Uploader and metadata spreadsheets
Partners can use Package Uploader to deliver batches of video and sound-recording assets with a separate spreadsheet containing metadata, one row per asset. The guide also describes an option to pre-validate the spreadsheet. Music labels delivering Art Tracks may use an Art Track spreadsheet or DDEX. These workflows support catalog delivery; they are not necessary for a creator uploading a few finished videos. Details are in YouTube’s upload-method guide.
SFTP or Aspera for recurring high-volume delivery
For partners regularly delivering more than 100 assets per month, YouTube describes SFTP or Aspera as transfer options. Its guide says Aspera is faster and preferable for large media files. Treat that threshold as guidance in YouTube’s partner workflow, not as an eligibility guarantee for every channel.

Use Vimeo OTT for a paid video catalog
Vimeo OTT is designed for publishers who want to sell subscriptions or individual purchases and rentals, rather than simply upload public YouTube videos. Its upload guide allows drag-and-drop batches from a computer up to 250 GB per batch, or batches up to 50 GB through Dropbox. Upload and transcoding progress can be tracked, and Vimeo says it emails when processing is complete. See Vimeo OTT’s upload instructions.
Recommended Free Tools
- Choose a supported batch source: drag and drop files from a computer or use Dropbox, observing the separate batch limit for that source.
- Track the upload and transcoding process in OTT; processing prepares assets for streaming and download.
- After processing, add each finished video to a Subscription Collection or a Purchase/Rental Product so customers can access it.
An uploaded OTT video is private until it is placed in a subscription collection or product for sale. The service transcodes videos into adaptive streaming files and multiple download resolutions. Vimeo OTT also lists supported imports such as Amazon S3, Cyberduck and Transmit for large libraries; its help page says physical media is not accepted and advises contacting an account manager or sales for bulk uploading. Pricing depends on uploaded video hours, so check Vimeo OTT’s current plan details rather than relying on an older price.

Use Vimeo for a hosted library and mobile uploads
Vimeo’s standard hosting workflows are useful when the aim is to manage a library, not necessarily to sell access through OTT. Its Android and iOS apps allow bulk selection, folder assignment and privacy settings, and Vimeo says the feature is included with all plans. The mobile library also supports bulk actions such as moving, deleting and renaming videos. Uploaded videos count toward account storage. Read Vimeo’s mobile bulk-upload guidance.
For cloud-based batch workflows, Vimeo lists Dropbox, Google Drive and Box among its upload options. Its general preparation guidance prefers common formats such as MP4 and MOV, recommends keeping individual files under 200 GB for successful upload, and says videos longer than 24 hours are not supported. The under-200-GB advice concerns an individual file, not a maximum batch size. Consult Vimeo’s file-preparation guidance before sending a large library.

Vimeo also describes an integration for sharing Vimeo content to YouTube, including single-click sharing. That description does not establish that uploading a batch to Vimeo automatically batch-publishes every video to YouTube. See Vimeo’s YouTube integration page for its stated scope.
Consider SproutVideo’s sequential upload queue
SproutVideo documents a multi-file uploader that accepts several videos into a queue and uploads them one at a time. Its help article says the sequential workflow can let an early file become playable before the entire batch finishes. It does not state a numeric queue limit, and the article was last updated March 24, 2023, so confirm current behavior in the service if queue size or processing order is critical. See SproutVideo Support.

Choose by destination, publishing model and batch size
- Choose YouTube Studio when your destination is your own YouTube channel and you need to select several finished videos together.
- Choose YouTube Content Manager tools only if you have eligible partner access and need metadata-driven delivery at catalog scale.
- Choose Vimeo OTT when you are building a subscription, purchase or rental catalog and need its batch processing workflow.
- Choose Vimeo hosting when mobile batch management, folder organization or supported cloud uploads fit your library workflow.
- Consider SproutVideo if a sequential queue fits your hosted-video process, while checking that its present limits meet your needs.
Or let it run in the cloud
Batch uploading finished videos is different from keeping one of them live as a continuous YouTube stream. If you want uploaded recordings or a playlist to loop on YouTube 24/7, StreamNeo runs that stream from the cloud: upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Your computer and home connection do not have to stay on. Each slot streams what you uploaded, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot; there are no quality tiers. StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, one free day per account. Monthly service is $9.99 per month. For details and to start the free day, create a StreamNeo account.
