OCR or text extraction
Snipping Tool’s Text actions provide an OCR-related workflow directly after capture. Check the result visually: stylized fonts, low contrast, small text and screen scaling can lead to recognition errors.
Screen recording
Snipping Tool includes video snips for simple recordings. ShareX is the broader choice when recording is part of a configurable capture-and-upload workflow. Snagit is worth evaluating when recordings belong to formal training or documentation.

The screenshot is black or blank
Check whether the application uses protected video or hardware-accelerated surfaces; some windows deliberately prevent ordinary capture. Try capturing a different window, disable hardware acceleration only if your organization permits it, or use the application’s own export function. The scrolling image has seams or repeats content
