The right choice depends on whether you want a telephoto camera, which display Samsung specifies, and how much you want to spend—not just the starting price.
How much less do these Galaxy phones cost?
Samsung’s March 2026 US MSRP sheet lists the unlocked Galaxy S26 at $799.99 for 128 GB, $899.99 for 256 GB, and $1,099.99 for 512 GB. Samsung says those prices can change without notice. Its product comparison lists starting prices before eligible trade-ins of $699.99 for the Galaxy S26 FE, $649.99 for the Galaxy S25 FE, and $549.99 for the Galaxy A57 5G. The S25 FE’s March 2026 unlocked prices are $649.99 for 128 GB and $709.99 for 256 GB. Galaxy S26 FE: the newer FE option
At Samsung’s listed starting price of $699.99 before eligible trade-in, the S26 FE is the closest-priced alternative to the S26. Samsung lists an Exynos 2500 processor, a 6.7-inch FHD+ display, a 4,900 mAh battery, Galaxy AI, and a telephoto camera. Samsung also says the S26 FE will receive seven major Android OS upgrades and up to seven years of security patches; this is Samsung’s support claim, not an independent long-term test. Galaxy S25 FE: a lower-priced FE with a telephoto camera
The S25 FE starts at $649.99 before eligible trade-in, and Samsung’s March 2026 MSRP sheet lists unlocked 128 GB and 256 GB versions at $649.99 and $709.99. Samsung lists an Exynos 2400 processor, a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, a 4,900 mAh battery, Galaxy AI, and a telephoto camera. It is the less expensive of the two FE choices at the listed starting prices, while retaining the telephoto camera Samsung also lists on the S26 FE. Galaxy A57 5G: the lowest listed price
At $549.99 before eligible trade-in, the A57 5G is the least expensive of these three in Samsung’s comparison. Samsung lists an Exynos 1680 processor, a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display, a 5,000 mAh battery, and “Intelligent features.” Its camera distinction matters: Samsung’s table lists a macro camera rather than a telephoto camera. If zoomed-in portraits or distant subjects are important to you, compare the FE models’ listed telephoto hardware before choosing the A57 on price alone. All three screens measure 6.7 inches in Samsung’s comparison, but the named display specifications differ. Those labels and processor names identify what Samsung lists; they do not establish which screen looks best or which phone performs faster in everyday use.
