Restream’s Upload & Stream page advertises queued and scheduled video, playlists, looping, and around-the-clock use cases. The page lists three configurations:

These are the figures displayed on Restream’s product page as accessed October 3, 2026; confirm current plan details before choosing. The page showed $0/month for these tiers at that time, but that dynamic display is not a dependable basis for a current price comparison.
There is an operational qualification for a stream that must stay live continuously. Restream’s Help Center says maintenance may restart a stream after more than 24 hours and recommends restarting every 24 hours. It also says YouTube has no stated stream-duration limit, but archives only streams under 12 hours. Plan recovery separately from archive retention: do not assume a single 24/7 event will be saved as one complete video.

OBS or another local encoder — hands-on control
A locally operated encoder can avoid a dedicated cloud playout subscription, but the computer, internet connection, and someone to maintain them become part of the uptime plan. This is a practical route if you want local control and can monitor the setup; it is less suitable when nothing at home can remain running. Verify the encoder’s current documentation for the exact playlist and reconnection workflow you intend to use.

Other cloud services — verify before committing
Upstream, Gyre, LiveReacting, OneStream Live, and Castr also appear in the market for prerecorded or continuous streaming. Their current plan gates, loop behavior, destinations, reliability, and prices are not established here from each provider’s official documentation. Treat them as candidates to investigate, not as verified equivalents: ask each provider whether playlists loop indefinitely, what happens after a disconnect or maintenance restart, and which plan includes the required YouTube workflow.

Compare services on the details that determine continuity

Prepare YouTube before the first stream
Restream’s YouTube setup guidance, dated July 9, 2026, says the channel owner must connect the channel, complete phone verification, enable live streaming, and wait 24 hours before the first livestream. Follow YouTube’s current account prompts as well, since account status and product interfaces can change. Keep the stream key private: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a stream to your channel.

Restream’s Help Center states that YouTube archives only live streams shorter than 12 hours. If you need saved recordings, schedule shorter events or create a separate recording and retention workflow, then confirm how the chosen service handles event restarts and video files. Do not treat an always-on live channel as a substitute for a complete, downloadable archive.
Troubleshooting a prerecorded 24/7 stream
- The first YouTube stream will not start: verify live streaming is enabled, complete phone verification, and allow the stated 24-hour activation period before trying again.
- The stream stops or restarts around a day later on Restream: account for Restream’s maintenance caveat and recommended 24-hour restart cadence; build a planned restart and recovery procedure rather than assuming uninterrupted operation.
- The live channel continues but the archive is incomplete: YouTube’s cited archive limit is under 12 hours. Use shorter events or a separate recording plan.
- The stream will not connect or quality is unstable: confirm the correct YouTube destination and stream key, then check H.264, CBR, keyframe interval, resolution, frame rate, and bitrate against the current encoder guidance and your connection capacity.
- The media plays once and then stops: confirm that the selected plan and workflow support playlist looping, not merely scheduling or one-time prerecorded playback.
- A cloud stream does not recover as expected: check the provider’s documented reconnection behavior and whether recovery creates a new YouTube event; contact support with the event time and error details.
