The Samsung Gear S3 Frontier uses a standard 22 mm watch band attached with spring bars. That makes standard-width 22 mm straps a sensible starting point, but width alone does not guarantee that every third-party band will fit correctly. Look for a listing that explicitly names the Gear S3 Frontier, then check its attachment, wrist-size range, material and closure.
What size band fits the Gear S3 Frontier?
Choose a 22 mm band. Samsung identifies the Gear S3 Frontier as using a 22 mm band and says the Gear S3 supports standard 22 mm watch bands. Samsung’s Gear S3 explainer describes the standard width; its support guidance also distinguishes the Frontier’s 22 mm band from watches that use 20 mm bands.
Do not rely on a listing that says only “Samsung watch band” or “Galaxy Watch band.” Samsung’s current guidance includes newer Galaxy Watch models that use 20 mm bands, so confirm the width and the exact watch model before ordering.
How to choose a replacement
Search for a “22 mm watch band for Samsung Gear S3 Frontier,” then compare the details that affect fit and everyday use. The official specifications establish the width and attachment method, but do not test third-party products or establish their comfort, durability or suitability for a particular activity.

- Compatibility: Prefer a listing that explicitly names the Gear S3 Frontier, not just Samsung watches generally.
- Attachment: Check that the band uses spring bars appropriate for the watch’s lugs. A 22 mm width by itself does not verify the shape or fit of every end piece.
- Material: Samsung describes the stock Frontier band as silicone. Silicone is an option if you want a similar material; leather and metal are also available in the broader 22 mm band category. The official sources do not compare these materials for comfort or durability.
- Wrist sizing: Check the seller’s stated wrist-size range rather than assuming the band will fit based on width.
- Closure and finish: Compare the buckle or clasp, color and finish against your preferences, and check what hardware the listing includes.
- Purchase terms: Review the seller’s return terms in case the band or its end pieces do not fit as expected.
How to replace the band
Samsung’s instructions describe removing and installing the strap with its spring bar. Use the diagrams on Samsung’s band replacement support page for the watch itself.
- Remove the old strap: Slide its spring bar inward to retract it, then pull the strap away from the watch.
- Seat the new strap: Insert one end of the replacement’s spring bar into a lug, slide the bar inward and connect the strap to the other side.
- Check the attachment: Make sure the spring-bar ends are seated in the lugs before wearing the watch.
What Samsung’s specifications do—and do not—establish
Samsung’s published guidance gives a useful compatibility baseline: the Frontier takes a 22 mm band, and its strap attaches with spring bars. Samsung’s Gear S3 launch announcement identifies the Frontier and Classic as part of the Gear S3 line. These sources do not evaluate individual replacement bands, their sizing accuracy, materials, hardware quality or performance. Treat a product’s own compatibility and sizing details as necessary checks, not as details guaranteed by Samsung’s general band specification.
