How to choose the right deal
- Decide what you want to drive. Stock cars, rally stages, circuit racing, open-world roads, and long-haul trucking offer very different experiences. A low price is useful only if the discipline appeals to you.
- Choose arcade-style or simulation-focused driving. If you want a more accessible, open-world style, compare titles such as Forza Horizon 5, The Crew Motorfest, or Need for Speed Unbound. If you are looking for sim-focused driving, compare titles such as Assetto Corsa, Assetto Corsa Competizione, Automobilista 2, and rFactor 2.
- Check the edition and add-ons. Compare the base game with any discounted edition, season pass, or DLC. A lower base-game price does not tell you what extra content is included or whether you want it.
- Consider your controls. A racing wheel may matter for a simulation-focused setup, but the sale roundups do not establish a universal wheel requirement or compatibility claim. Check the game’s Steam page and the wheel maker’s specifications for your intended setup.
- Compare the price in your own Steam region. The listed figures are US-dollar examples; the live store listing for your country is the relevant price.
Does a huge discount mean a game is a bargain?
No. A discount percentage describes the reduction from a listed price, not how well a game suits your interests or how much you will enjoy it. Steam has a vast low-price catalogue: PC Gamer reported on October 1, 2026 that SteamDB counted 44,048 games available for less than $5 in 2026. That count covers all Steam games, not racing games, and a low price alone does not establish quality.
