There is no verified head-to-head test here that establishes one 14-inch chainsaw as the fastest or most powerful. The strongest shortlist is a cordless EGO POWER+ model, Husqvarna’s battery-powered 535i XP, and Husqvarna’s gas-powered T435. Compare their published specifications, exact bar configuration, and what comes in the box—not the bar length alone.
What a 14-inch bar does—and does not—tell you
A 14-inch bar is a configuration, not a performance rating. It does not by itself establish how quickly a saw cuts or what size wood it can handle. For a useful comparison, check the exact model and bar option alongside the manufacturer’s power and intended-use information.
The figures below come from manufacturer product pages and are specifications, not results from a matched cutting test. Motor RPM, output shaft horsepower, battery voltage, and chain speed describe different things; they should not be treated as interchangeable measures of cutting performance.
14-inch chainsaws to compare
| Model | Power source and 14-inch configuration | Published specifications | Other published details |
|---|---|---|---|
| EGO POWER+ 14-inch cordless chainsaw | Cordless battery; confirm the exact variant and whether the listing includes a battery and charger. | EGO says its brushless motor delivers 6,800 RPM. | EGO lists hardwood, softwood, and branches as intended cutting uses and describes the design as low kickback. EGO product page |
| Husqvarna 535i XP | Battery-powered; US product page lists a 14-inch tool-only configuration. | 40 V battery system; 1.9 hp output shaft power; 65.62 ft/s chain speed. | Brushless motor and automatic oil pump. Tool-only means the buyer should verify battery and charger inclusion in the actual listing. Husqvarna US product page |
| Husqvarna T435 | Gas; Husqvarna’s US page offers 12-, 14-, and 16-inch bar options, so select and verify the 14-inch configuration. | 35.2 cm³ displacement; 2.01 hp output shaft power; 62.3 ft/s chain speed. | Husqvarna describes it for pruning in parks, vineyards, and orchards. The page lists an inertia-activated chain brake and recommends two-handed operation whenever possible. Husqvarna US product page |
How to choose among them
Choose by power source and package
The EGO and 535i XP are cordless options; the T435 is gas-powered. That distinction affects what you need to buy and manage, but the published figures do not establish which is better for a particular owner. Check whether the selected cordless listing includes a compatible battery and charger. The 535i XP page explicitly identifies its 14-inch configuration as tool-only; confirm the EGO package details on the listing you plan to buy.
#1 Best Overall
- 14 INCH BAR: 120 Mark III Chainsaw with 3/8 Pitch, .050 Gauage is built for the homeowner who needs a lightweight and efficient cutting tool
- POWERFUL AND EFFICIENT: 38-cc Husqvarna chainsaws with X-Torq engine delivers a great power and torque thanks to highly efficient combustion
- INERTIA ACTIVATED CHAIN BRAKE: intertia activated chain brake for safety while operating
- LOWVIB TECHNOLOGY: Dampeners between the engine and chassis significantly reduce vibrations so you can work more comfortably
- SEPARATE CHOKE/STOP SWITCH CONTROLS: Stop switch automatically resets when the choke is pulled out to help prevent accidental flooding
Match the saw to the stated work
EGO lists hardwood, softwood, and branches among the uses for its 14-inch saw. Husqvarna identifies pruning in parks, vineyards, and orchards as work for the T435. These are manufacturers’ descriptions, not independent findings or sizing advice for every job. Consider the material and work you actually need to do, and consult the manufacturer’s guidance for the exact model.
Check configuration, support, and safe operation
Confirm that the listing includes the 14-inch bar you want; the T435 page offers multiple bar options. For the T435, Husqvarna lists an inertia-activated chain brake and recommends two-handed operation whenever possible. A safety feature does not make a chainsaw suitable for inexperienced operation. Husqvarna’s product pages provide product support, and the T435 page includes a dealer locator; local service access may matter when comparing options.

- 【Lightweight Rear-Handle Design for Ground-Level Use】The body weighs only 6.27 lbs, this 25cc gas chainsaw is lighter than most 30cc-38cc gas models. The rear-handle design allows for two-handed control, reducing arm fatigue during extended trimming sessions. Designed for ground-level yard and orchard work
- 【25cc 1.5 HP Engine, Power-to-Weight Advantage】Powered by a 25cc 2-stroke engine delivering 1.5 HP at 13,500 RPM, this rear-handle gas chain saw offers a higher power-to-weight ratio compared to most 25.4cc top-handle models. Equipped with 14-inch guide bar, 3/8" LP chain (.050" gauge, 52 drive links), suitable for cutting medium-thickness branches, orchard thinning and heavier residential firewood tasks
- 【Rear-Handle for Better Ground Control】Unlike top-handle gas chainsaws built for climbing, the rear-handle design is optimized for ground-level work—thicker branch pruning, brush clearing, and general yard maintenance. The wrapped rear grip provides natural hand positioning and balanced control, reducing discomfort common when using top-handle saws for ground applications
- 【Safety and User-Friendly Features】Includes inertia chain brake (anti-kickback), dual throttle lock (prevents accidental starts), and automatic oiler (lubricates during use). Easy-start system reduces pull resistance; manual choke aids cold starts; anti-vibration system reduces hand fatigue; air filter blocks debris to extend engine life. Designed for first-time gas chainsaw users
- 【Complete Kit - Ready for Assembly】Includes guide bar and chain, bar cover, mixing bottle, gloves, tool kit, and user manual. Two size options — 12" for light pruning, 14" for thicker branches. Requires gas and 2-stroke oil (25:1 mix ratio) before use. Assembly and basic setup are required prior to first operation
Why published power figures do not name a winner
The specifications use unlike measures: EGO publishes motor speed in RPM, while Husqvarna publishes output shaft power and chain speed for the two models. Those numbers cannot be ranked as if they were measured under the same conditions. The Husqvarna values also come from different power systems and models. They help identify candidates, but do not establish which saw cuts faster or handles a given task better.
