For a 24/7 Indian radio-style YouTube stream, use one calm, readable On Air scene built around a static station image or restrained visualizer, clear station identity, and only the audio and metadata sources you actually need. Keep a separate Fallback / Maintenance scene for interruptions. OBS does not prescribe a radio template; this is a practical layout recommendation based on its scene and source model.
Build a small, focused scene collection
OBS scenes and sources are the building blocks of a stream layout. A Scene Collection groups scenes, while a Profile stores stream, video, and output settings. Keep this radio stream’s scenes in a focused collection and its YouTube output configuration in a suitable Profile rather than mixing unrelated show layouts together. OBS Studio Overview Guide · OBS Profiles
Main / On Air
- Use station artwork, a logo, or a simple visualizer as the main visual.
- Show the station or program name prominently. Make it legible on mobile and television screens.
- Add current-track text only if a reliable metadata source supplies and updates it. Stale song titles are worse than no song titles.
- Include only the audio sources needed for the broadcast, and check their routing and levels.
Fallback / Maintenance
- Create a static “Technical issue” or “Back shortly” card for a source interruption or scheduled maintenance.
- Decide what should happen to audio on this scene; silence, continuing audio, or replacement audio should be intentional.
- Use the scene to respond to an interruption, not as a substitute for monitoring the stream.
Opening / Schedule (optional)
Add an opening, schedule, or handoff scene only if it serves a real programming need. A genuinely continuous station can remain on its main scene.

Choose a quiet visual hierarchy: station identity first, optional program or track information second, decoration last. For a mostly static radio stream, elaborate motion is not automatically useful. OBS notes that sources consume resources, including some hidden sources, and identifies browser sources, filters, and large media as possible performance costs. It recommends reducing expensive sources, using appropriately sized media, reducing browser-source dimensions, preferring static image sources for static overlays, and keeping collections focused. These are sensible design principles, not a quantified performance guarantee for this particular layout. OBS encoding performance troubleshooting

The XLR mixer is a stepping stone to upgrade your live streaming. Audio mixer offered built-in 48V phantom power which opens up more choices for mics. Flowing or frozen RGB color rotation in a decent pace presents a greatly strong impression as a "light show" to your audience. Even a streaming equipment accessory will not be dull looking when video production.
Choose canvas, output, and frame rate for the actual show
In OBS, Base (Canvas) Resolution is the workspace for fitting sources; Output (Scaled) Resolution is the stream or recording output. Match the canvas to the artwork and layout, then choose output resolution and FPS based on the visual content, audience needs, encoder capacity, system, and YouTube’s current recommendations. OBS cautions that 60 fps can be more demanding than 30 fps. A mostly static radio image alone does not establish a need for high resolution or frame rate; there is no single best setting for every computer and connection. OBS Studio Overview Guide
Prepare for a continuous broadcast
Check the channel before the first real stream
Confirm the channel is eligible and enabled for live streaming, and resolve any restrictions before planning a launch. YouTube’s live-streaming help page states a 90-day period without live-streaming restrictions as an eligibility condition; check the current channel status and requirements in YouTube rather than assuming eligibility. Test the complete scene and recovery path
- In OBS, follow the Quick Start Guide to configure the stream, then make a test stream or local recording before going live.
- Check that the intended sources are visible, text is readable at small sizes, and scene transitions show the right content.
- Listen for the intended audio source, clean levels, and correct routing. Confirm the fallback scene’s visual and audio behavior.
- Simulate or safely test a source or network interruption so you know how to restore the program and return to the main scene.
- For a live run, check YouTube’s Live Control Room preview before starting. YouTube recommends upload bandwidth with 20% headroom above stream bitrate requirements, verifying that local archive files are growing, checking access on channel/watch pages and mobile, and continuously monitoring audio and video quality. These are operating checks, not an uptime guarantee. YouTube: Streaming tips
Plan recordings separately from the live scene
YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, but warns that a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. Even for shorter streams, automatic archiving is not a promise that every broadcast will be preserved under all circumstances. If you need recordings of a 24/7 channel, plan a local archive and retention workflow rather than relying on one uninterrupted YouTube archive. YouTube: Archive live streams
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsClear music and visuals for live and archived use
Rights clearance is a launch prerequisite for a radio-style stream. YouTube’s livestream terms require the provider to hold necessary rights for worldwide exploitation of live content, including music licensing rights and relevant territory requirements. YouTube also scans live broadcasts for third-party content; identified material can interrupt or terminate a stream. Even licensed third-party content can be interrupted if the rights owner has not added the channel to its Content ID allowlist. YouTube livestream terms · YouTube copyright issues with live streams

YouTube says music is safe for use if it is public domain or you have permission from the copyright owner. A “free” label or a track credit alone does not establish permission. Check the specific license and obtain confirmation for the intended live broadcast and any archive or replay, across the territories where you intend to make it available. The official YouTube pages cited here do not provide a complete India-specific rights checklist, so do not treat a general label or a single territory assumption as clearance.
