Choose the compact Logitech Pebble Keys 2 K380s if portability matters more, or consider the Keychron B6 Pro for a lower-cost, low-profile option if you can do without backlighting. These keyboards suit different setups; “compatible with Mac” alone does not mean a keyboard can switch between multiple devices.

Start with the setup you actually use: for example, a Mac and iPad, or two Macs. Then check the specific model’s paired-device capacity and how switching works. A dedicated Easy-Switch key is different from disconnecting and pairing again, and a general macOS compatibility claim does not prove that multiple devices can stay paired.
- Device count and switching: Look for a stated number of paired devices and a clearly described way to change the active one.
- Mac legends and controls: Check for Command and Option labels, a Mac-specific version, or a physical mode switch. Similar product names can describe different layouts.
- Footprint and layout: Full-size boards provide a more conventional spread of keys; compact models take less room but can feel tighter or omit keys.
- Connection method: Separate Bluetooth from a 2.4 GHz USB receiver. Confirm receiver inclusion, connector type, and compatibility for the exact regional SKU.
- Typing and lighting: Scissor or membrane-style low-profile keys and mechanical switches feel different. Backlighting can be useful in dim rooms, but it affects power needs.
- Apple-only features: Touch ID is available on select Apple Magic Keyboard models for Mac computers with Apple silicon; do not expect it from a third-party keyboard.

Check the exact version before buying. RTINGS distinguishes the Mac-specific model’s Mac modifier legends from the standard MX Keys S, which has dual Windows/Mac legends. RTINGS also says the Logi Bolt receiver is included with the standard version, not the Mac version. Verify the box contents for the specific SKU and region rather than assuming a receiver comes with either model.

The Pebble Keys 2 K380s is the compact option for a desk with limited space or for carrying a keyboard between locations. RTINGS describes it as a Bluetooth model that can pair with up to three devices and switch at a button press. Its portability comes with a real layout compromise: RTINGS notes that the keys can feel cramped and that the circular keycaps are unusual.

Do not confuse it with the related K380 for Mac when checking setup instructions. Logitech’s support page for the K380 for Mac says its Easy-Switch buttons connect with up to three Apple devices, including an iMac, MacBook, iPad, or iPhone, over Bluetooth: Logitech K380 for Mac connection instructions. That support statement applies to the named K380 for Mac, not automatically to every K380-family version.
Keychron B6 Pro: budget low-profile option
The B6 Pro is worth comparing if you want a low-profile keyboard and multi-device Bluetooth pairing without prioritizing backlighting. RTINGS recommends it as a budget Mac keyboard, while noting no backlighting and a less premium build and typing feel than the MX Keys S. These are RTINGS’ comparative findings, not results from hands-on testing for this article.

RTINGS reports an estimate of up to 1,200 hours—about eight months at five hours of daily use. Treat that as the reviewer’s stated estimate, not a guaranteed runtime for every usage pattern. Keychron describes its keyboards as suitable for macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android and says an OS mode switch changes between Mac and Windows modes. When an Apple Magic Keyboard makes more sense
Apple’s accessory catalog lists several Magic Keyboard variants, including models with Touch ID for Mac computers with Apple silicon. That makes the Magic Keyboard relevant if Touch ID or Apple-specific integration matters more than switching among multiple hosts.
