If you want to livestream outdoors on YouTube without buying a bonded broadcast rig, start by deciding whether you need a phone encoder, a relay, or multi-network bonding. They solve different problems. For most budget-first creators, the sensible path is to try a phone-based workflow first, add a relay only when you need one, and treat bonded hardware as a separate, higher-cost upgrade.
What counts as an IRL Pro alternative?
IRL Pro is an Android streaming app listed for Twitch, YouTube, and other services. Its Google Play listing says it was updated on 18 September 2024; check the live listing for current availability and features before choosing it (Google Play listing). An app encodes video on your phone and sends it to a destination. A relay receives an encoder feed and forwards it. A bonded system combines connectivity and streaming hardware. A relay is not automatically a replacement app, and a more expensive bonded setup is not a like-for-like phone-app alternative.
For an Indian creator, compare the whole workflow—not just whether an app is free. Check phone compatibility, destination and protocol support, whether it combines network connections, setup complexity, mobile data use, and any recurring relay or hardware cost.
Budget-first options, by what they actually do
Stay phone-first if one connection is enough
If you already have an Android phone and a mobile plan that can sustain your stream, using a phone encoder is the lowest-complexity route. IRL Pro’s listing describes streaming from Android to YouTube and other services. The available evidence does not establish current India-specific pricing or a verified feature-by-feature comparison with alternatives such as PRISM Live Studio, Larix Broadcaster, or Moblin, so check each official app listing for your device and region before switching.
#1 Best Overall
- 【Hardware H.265/H.264 Encoding at 1080P60】Dedicated hardware encoder delivers broadcast-quality 1080P60 streams with H.265/H.264 compression. Reduces bandwidth usage by up to 50% compared to legacy H.264-only solutions, while maintaining crisp, crystal-clear video output.
- 【Broad Protocol Support for IP Distribution】 Supports SRT, RTMP(S), RTSP, UDP, HTTP, HLS, WebRTC, TRTC, Icecast and SHOUTcast — integrate seamlessly with CDNs, surveillance NVRs, IPTV systems and browser-based monitoring dashboards. One device replaces multiple single-purpose streaming boxes.
- 【Browser-Based Setup in Minutes】 Set up in minutes through any browser — no software, drivers or OS compatibility issues. DHCP is enabled by default to prevent IP address conflicts on your network. Note: basic networking knowledge (IP address, RTSP/RTMP configuration) is recommended for advanced streaming setups.
- 【Compact Design with Flexible Deployment】Palm-sized form factor (approx. 90×54×29mm) fits easily behind monitors, on shelves, or in equipment racks. Low power consumption ensures reliable 24/7 operation for live events, remote monitoring, and digital signage.
- 【Professional Audio & OSD Overlay + 1-Year Warranty】 Supports HDMI embedded audio plus external 3.5mm input. Built-in OSD generator adds scrolling text, logos, or timestamps directly to the video stream — ideal for branding, event info, or security labeling. Backed by a 1-year warranty and 24/7 online technical support.
One technical limitation matters when you move between areas with uneven coverage: the cited Enhanced IRL guide says IRL Pro uses RTMP and SRT over one connection and does not bond multiple connections. For combining connections, it points to an SRTLA workflow with Moblin or BELABOX (Enhanced IRL guide). That is a different, more involved workflow—not proof that either option is a drop-in replacement with the same features or destinations.
Add a relay only when your workflow needs it
A relay can receive a feed from an encoder and forward it toward your broadcast destination, but it adds a service fee and may require separate software. IRLServer lists a Standard plan at $9.99/month (year not stated on the captured page). It lists RTMP, SRT, and SRTLA relay endpoints, a 20 Mb/s maximum input bitrate, uncapped resolution, and no data caps or overage fees; users supply OBS, Streamlabs, or vMix (IRLServer). Confirm current terms directly. This is a server-side relay workflow, not a complete phone app, and it is unnecessary if your existing encoder can send directly to YouTube.

- Enhanced Performance: Featuring 3 HDMI inputs, a larger and brighter 8-inch touchscreen, and a longer-lasting 10,000mAh battery, the YoloBox Pro offers over 4 hours of use
- Free Built-in Features: Includes web URL overlay, video cropping, instant replay, and auto-switching, all standard to enhance professionalism and audience engagement at no additional cost
Keep bonded hardware in a separate upgrade category
Dedicated bonded systems are aimed at managed field setups and carry a very different cost profile. IRL Bonded’s 2026 comparison lists LiveU Solo starting at $1,500 plus $45 or more per month, and TVU One at $10,000 or more; those are vendor comparison figures, not independently verified quotes (IRL Bonded comparison). UnlimitedIRL lists its IRL Backpack v7 at $2,995 without a camera and describes hot-swappable USB-C power banks for extended operation (UnlimitedIRL). Verify current prices and included equipment with the vendors. These systems may suit production needs that justify dedicated gear, but they are not budget-first substitutes for a phone app.

How to choose without paying for the wrong thing
| What you need | Best-fit category to investigate | Trade-off to check |
|---|---|---|
| Simple YouTube livestreaming from a phone | Phone encoder app | Device support, destinations, settings, and whether it uses one connection |
| Forwarding or protecting an encoder feed | Relay service | Recurring cost, bitrate limit, region, required encoder software, and protocol |
| Combining multiple connections for a field setup | SRTLA workflow or bonded system | More configuration, compatibility requirements, and potentially substantial equipment or service costs |
Before committing, ask whether the provider publishes its bitrate and resolution ceiling, ingest-server location, and bonding support. Some providers do not publish all of these details, so confirm the specifics that matter for your route and mobile networks.

Plan for power and data on long streams
Long outdoor streams can outlast a phone battery. A USB-C power bank is supporting gear, not an IRL Pro alternative. UnlimitedIRL’s backpack description notes hot-swappable USB-C power banks in its extended-runtime setup. Before buying a bank, check your phone’s charging standard, required output, cable, capacity, weight, and compatibility with your mount or backpack. Also check your mobile plan and expected data use; a relay’s lack of a data cap does not remove your carrier’s limits or charges.
