For a straightforward cloud alternative to Gyre, start with StreamNeo: it keeps uploaded videos looping on YouTube from the cloud, supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and gives you a first day free with no card. If you need live camera or game inputs, custom scenes, or plugins, OBS—running on a local or hosted machine—offers more control but requires more setup and maintenance.
The best Gyre alternative depends on how many streams you run, the storage and output quality you need, whether you want scheduling or live-show tools, and how much infrastructure you are willing to manage. This guide compares the main approaches and explains what to check before switching.
What to compare before switching from Gyre
Gyre is a managed service for turning uploaded prerecorded videos into continuous live streams. Its workflow is to upload files to its storage and converter, arrange them in a playlist, connect a platform, start a scheduled stream, and let the playlist repeat. The cloud handles the stream, so your computer does not need to stay on. See Gyre’s current product page for its workflow and published plans.
A replacement is only useful if it meets your actual requirements. Compare the whole plan and workflow, not just the lowest advertised price.

3. Upstream — a browser studio for prerecorded loops
A 2026 comparison describes Upstream as a polished browser studio for prerecorded loops. That is a comparative publisher’s characterization, not a hands-on test or independent benchmark. Before choosing it, check the provider’s current details for playlist behavior, scheduling, destinations, stream limits, storage, quality, and pricing. The comparison is at Space-Node’s 2026 overview.
4. Live247 — usage-priced, YouTube-oriented playlist workflow
The same 2026 comparison characterizes Live247 as a usage-priced playlist workflow oriented toward YouTube. Confirm how its usage is measured and what the total cost would be for your expected stream duration and count. Also verify the current storage, playlist, recovery, and output limits with the provider; the comparison is not a hands-on test.

Space-Node describes playout.video as cloud playout with broad destination support. That may merit a closer look if YouTube is not your only destination, but do not assume a particular platform, resolution, or concurrency limit from that description alone. Check the provider’s current specifications and plan terms before relying on them.

6. OBS locally or on a hosted server — more production control
OBS is the more configurable route when you need scenes, plugins, overlays, browser sources, live camera or game inputs, or direct control over stream configuration. For a 24/7 stream, it must run on an always-on machine. Running it at home means maintaining a suitable computer and reliable internet connection; using a VPS or remote Windows desktop can keep your home computer off while preserving more control than a closed SaaS dashboard. Either setup adds configuration and ongoing troubleshooting. The hosted-OBS tradeoff is described in Space-Node’s comparison; check hosting and OBS requirements for your own configuration rather than assuming a provider’s capacity.

How to choose a functional Gyre replacement
- Write down your must-haves. Record the number of simultaneous streams, destinations, resolution and frame rate, storage needs, and whether you need schedules, playlists, or live inputs.
- Match those needs to plan limits. Check whether the specific tier includes the required stream count, storage, playlist and scheduling tools, output quality, and recovery behavior.
- Compare the full operating cost. Add subscriptions or usage charges to hosting, hardware, bandwidth, and the time you will spend maintaining the setup.
- Confirm the workflow with the provider. Review current product documentation and checkout terms, especially where comparisons rely on vendor claims or third-party descriptions.
- Test the switch with a low-risk stream. Check that the playlist order, loop behavior, destination, stream key, and recovery process work as intended before relying on the replacement for an important broadcast.
Copyright, reused content, and monetization
A service that loops a video does not grant permission to broadcast it. Use recordings, music, artwork, and other material you own or have permission to stream, and check the applicable rights before scheduling a continuous broadcast. YouTube’s enforcement or monetization decisions should not be treated as guaranteed by any streaming tool.
Looping alone is not evidence that a channel will grow or qualify for monetization. The available product and comparison pages do not establish independent, methodologically described results showing that any named alternative reliably increases audience or revenue. Make the choice based on workflow, control, limits, and cost—not a promised outcome.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:

Common problems when moving a 24/7 stream
- A playlist does not loop as expected: Check playlist order, repeat settings, and whether the selected plan includes the playlist or scheduler features you need.
- The stream stops when you close your laptop: A local OBS stream depends on its host staying on and connected. Use an always-on local machine or move the workload to a hosted server or cloud service.
- The output does not match your source: Check the service’s supported resolution and frame rate, any plan-specific caps, and whether the workflow re-encodes the uploaded file.
- You cannot start the stream at the planned time: Confirm that scheduling is available on your plan and that the platform connection and stream key are configured correctly.
- A plan looks cheaper but cannot replace your setup: Recheck stream count, storage, scheduling, output quality, destinations, and any usage charges before switching.
Or let it run in the cloud
With StreamNeo, upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; uploaded video streams at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one price per slot, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card.
