The right Gyre alternative depends on what “daily playlist” means for your channel. For a prerecorded playlist that should run continuously and repeat, StreamNeo is the first option to consider: it loops uploaded videos from the cloud on YouTube, so your computer can stay off. For a single prerecorded show that starts at a set time, StreamYard documents scheduled YouTube broadcasts. OBS Studio is the do-it-yourself route if you can keep a computer and connection running.
Choose the workflow before choosing a service
A daily playlist can mean either a continuous radio-style stream or a scheduled broadcast. They are different jobs, and a tool that schedules one video to start at a chosen time is not automatically a replacement for a service that loops a playlist indefinitely.
| Your goal | Workflow to look for | Options covered here |
|---|---|---|
| Keep a YouTube channel live with prerecorded videos, repeating a playlist | Cloud playlist looping, with unattended operation and recovery | StreamNeo; Gyre describes a similar continuous cloud-looping workflow |
| Start a prerecorded program at a particular time, once per day | Scheduled prerecorded broadcast | StreamYard documents scheduled YouTube broadcasts |
| Send a stream yourself from a computer | Desktop encoder that remains online for the broadcast | OBS Studio with YouTube |
Before switching, answer four practical questions: must the playlist repeat when it ends; should the stream stop at a set time; do you need to edit the playlist while live; and is a complete replay archive important? Also check how many platforms must receive the stream and whether you need concurrent broadcasts. These requirements affect the choice more than the word “alternative.”
Best options for a YouTube radio-style channel
1. StreamNeo: cloud looping for a continuous YouTube stream
StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live; StreamNeo loops the content from the cloud, so your computer, OBS, and home connection do not have to stay on. Its automatic recovery is intended to resume if YouTube drops the stream. It is the first option here for unattended 24/7 looping: any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps streams at one flat price per slot, and the first day is free with no card.

Gyre: a close workflow match, but verify current terms
Gyre describes a cloud workflow in which you upload files, arrange them into a looping playlist, and schedule a continuous stream. Its product page also advertises multiple-platform streaming and concurrent streams. A Gyre feature article says a creator can schedule a start time, an end time, or both, and edit playlist content while a stream is running. These are Gyre’s descriptions of its own service, not independent tests of uptime, performance, growth, or reliability. Features and plan limits can change, so confirm current YouTube support, storage, duration, platform count, and pricing directly before choosing it.

Gyre is the most directly comparable option in this set for cloud playlist looping. StreamNeo is another cloud option and publishes its slot inclusions and billing lengths above. The available source material does not establish a current, like-for-like comparison of Gyre’s prices or plan limits against StreamNeo’s.
StreamYard: scheduled prerecorded broadcasts, not an established endless-loop replacement
StreamYard’s help documentation describes scheduling a YouTube broadcast and using a prerecorded video as its source. Its documentation says the scheduled video can go live at the selected time even if the user is offline. That makes it relevant for a daily program with a start time. The cited documentation does not establish that it can loop a playlist continuously, so confirm that capability directly if endless repetition is essential.
OBS Studio: a self-managed desktop encoder
YouTube supports encoder-based streaming, and OBS Studio is a free desktop option described in Gyre’s comparison article. With this approach, the computer runs the encoder and sends the stream to YouTube. You are responsible for keeping the computer powered on, the internet connection available, and the broadcast operating; a restart or connection failure can interrupt the stream. It can suit a technically comfortable creator who wants to manage the setup locally, but it is not unattended cloud looping.

- KEEP YOUR PROCESSOR COOL: The busier a processor gets the more it heats up, leading to sub-optimal performance. To prevent this common issue, this kit includes an aluminum alloy case with a pre-installed fan. The aluminum alloy actively draws the heat from the pi board, while the fan further cools the board and case. These cooling mechanisms will help push the limits of your processor and increase its flexibility.
- SIZABLE RAM: This Raspberry Pi 4 comes equipped with 4GB of RAM, which is the same amount of RAM or more RAM than many mainstream laptops contain. With 4GB of RAM, your processor will be capable of running retro gaming setups and common computer applications, media players, and much more!
- SIMPLE TO TURN ON & OFF: This kit includes a USB-C Raspberry Pi 4 compatible power supply with an easy-to-use on/off switch that was designed specifically for the Raspberry Pi 4 model to streamline processing.
- IMPROVEMENTS FROM PREVIOUS MODELS: This latest model of the Raspberry Pi 4 offers groundbreaking increases in processor speed, multimedia performance, connectivity, memory, and more! The desktop performance of this model is comparable to entry-level x86 PC systems.
- VERSATILE USE: The Raspberry Pi may have a small processor, but it is a highly adaptable little computer that can replace your desktop PC. Its functions range from practical to nostalgic since it can power an ad-blocking server as easily as it can power an outmoded gaming setup. Other uses include but are not limited to printing from non-wireless printers, playing media, making time-lapse videos, and building multiplayer network game servers and motion-capture security systems.
How to decide: daily show or continuous radio
Choose a scheduled broadcast when each day is a separate program
If each playlist is a distinct daily show with a clear start time and end, look for scheduling, a reliable prerecorded-video source, and a way to prepare the YouTube event in advance. StreamYard documents this sort of scheduled broadcast. Check whether the show must also repeat, since scheduling alone does not prove playlist looping.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Choose cloud looping when the channel should remain live between shows
If the goal is an uninterrupted radio-style channel, prioritize looping, unattended cloud operation, and recovery after a dropped YouTube connection. Confirm whether the service lets you edit a running playlist, and whether it supports the number of destinations and concurrent streams you actually need. StreamNeo provides YouTube playlist looping from the cloud; Gyre describes cloud-based continuous looping and live playlist edits.
Choose OBS when local control is worth the operating burden
OBS is a reasonable option when you can keep a dedicated computer online and are prepared to handle encoder configuration, network interruptions, and restarts. A mini PC for OBS streaming is an optional purchase for this self-hosted route, not a requirement for a cloud service. No specific computer model or specification is established here.

Set up a daily YouTube schedule carefully
- Prepare the playlist and rights. Use recordings and music for which you have the necessary rights. Decide whether each day is a separate scheduled show or part of one continuous loop.
- Choose the streaming workflow. For a continuous loop, configure a cloud service or a desktop encoder that stays online. For a one-off prerecorded show, use a service whose documentation supports scheduled prerecorded YouTube broadcasts.
- Configure YouTube’s live event. In YouTube Studio, create or schedule the live stream, set its title and other metadata, and use the stream key or encoder settings required by the chosen service. Keep the stream key private; anyone with access to it may be able to send a stream to your channel.
- Test before the first public broadcast. Confirm the video order, audio, stream destination, schedule and start behavior. If you rely on a playlist edit during a live stream, verify that the chosen service supports it rather than assuming all scheduled-stream tools do.
- Plan for replay separately. If the archive matters, make a separate recording or use shorter sessions. Do not treat a long continuous stream as a guaranteed complete replay.
YouTube says scheduled streams may appear in subscribers’ feeds as upcoming, where viewers can opt to receive a notification. Its live settings documentation also covers stream metadata, stream keys, and encoder configuration.

Long streams may not produce a complete archive
YouTube Help says, “If your live stream is less than 12 hours, YouTube can automatically archive it for you.” It also warns, “If your stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all.” The 12-hour threshold is YouTube’s stated guidance, not a guarantee that every shorter stream will archive successfully. For a replay you must retain, record it separately or divide programming into shorter scheduled sessions.

Livestream monetization is not guaranteed by the tool
YouTube’s monetization policies apply to live streams and expect original, authentic material; mass-produced, generic, repetitive, or manipulative content may be ineligible. On July 15, 2025, YouTube clarified and renamed its “repetitious content” policy as “inauthentic content.” Reusing your own recordings does not by itself establish that a channel qualifies. A streaming service cannot grant monetization eligibility.

You need the rights to the material you broadcast
YouTube’s livestream terms make the content provider responsible for having the necessary rights for worldwide use of live content, including music rights involving artists, labels, publishers, and other rights participants. A radio-style playlist should contain tracks and other material you are authorized to stream. Using a service or a stream key does not supply those rights.
Costs, limits, and details to verify
Compare the complete workflow and its limits rather than choosing on a headline price. Current detailed Gyre and StreamYard pricing and full plan limits are not established in the available official material summarized here, so check their current plan pages before committing. For any service, verify the following directly:
- Whether it supports continuous playlist looping, scheduled starts and stops, or both.
- Whether a playlist can be changed while live and whether the service resumes after a dropped YouTube stream.
- How many platforms and concurrent broadcasts are included.
- Maximum stream duration, file-size limits, storage allocation, and archive behavior.
- What happens when a plan expires, a file is removed, or YouTube requires the stream to be restarted.
For StreamNeo, storage is 10 GB per slot, pooled across active slots, and each slot includes one stream. Use the upload-time calculator to estimate upload duration and the cloud vs PC cost calculator to compare operating approaches. Before publishing a playlist, check the copyright safety checklist.
Common problems and what to check
The stream does not start at the scheduled time
- Check that the event is scheduled for the intended time and time zone in YouTube and in the streaming service.
- Confirm the selected playlist or prerecorded video is ready and that the correct YouTube destination and stream key are configured.
- Check whether the chosen product supports unattended scheduled starts; documentation for a scheduled one-video broadcast does not prove support for a looping playlist.
The playlist ends instead of repeating
- Check that the service is configured for looping rather than a single scheduled broadcast.
- Verify that the playlist contains playable uploaded files and that the service’s current plan allows the intended workflow.
The YouTube stream drops or the encoder disconnects
- With OBS, check that the computer is still on and connected; the local setup depends on both.
- With a cloud service, check its documented recovery behavior and the YouTube stream status. Do not assume all providers recover in the same way.
- If YouTube requires a new stream session or key, update the service configuration using YouTube’s current live settings.
The replay is missing or incomplete
- Check the stream length against YouTube’s archive guidance: streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all.
- For a required full recording, keep a separate recording or schedule shorter sessions.
A track is claimed or the channel is not monetized
- Review the rights for every track and recording, including the permissions needed for livestream use.
- Review YouTube’s current monetization policies. A playlist that repeats or consists of reused material is not automatically eligible merely because you own or uploaded the files.
Or let it run in the cloud
With StreamNeo, upload your recordings or playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; uploads stream at their original quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, and StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month. Start a free day at StreamNeo registration.
