The Galaxy Z Flip3 5G supports up to 15W wired charging, up to 10W wireless charging, and 4.5W Wireless PowerShare. For most owners, the best setup is a reputable 20W–30W USB-C wall charger and a USB-C-to-USB-C cable. Use a Qi pad for bedside convenience and a 10,000mAh USB-C power bank for travel. A 45W or 65W charger is safe when it is well made, but it cannot make the Flip3 charge above its own limits.

Samsung lists the Flip3’s 15W wired, 10W wireless and 4.5W reverse-wireless capabilities, USB-C connector and 3,300mAh dual battery in its specifications (Samsung datasheet; Samsung launch specifications).
What the Galaxy Z Flip3 actually supports
- Wired: up to 15W through USB-C.
- Wireless: up to 10W with a compatible Qi charger.
- Reverse wireless: 4.5W Wireless PowerShare for compatible Qi phones, earbuds and wearables.
- Wireless standard: the Wireless Power Consortium’s Qi ecosystem.
These are maximum negotiated rates, not guarantees. Battery level, temperature, cable quality, case fit, simultaneous use and the charger’s protocol all affect the result.
Best wired chargers
Best compact choice: 20W–30W USB-C GaN
A 20W–30W USB-C charger reaches the Flip3’s wired ceiling while leaving useful headroom for earbuds, tablets and other USB-C devices. Gallium-nitride (GaN) models are often smaller than older silicon designs. Anker’s Samsung charger collection lists compact 20W, 30W, 45W and multi-port models; displayed prices ranged from about $11.99 for a 20W model to $25.99 for a 45W model with cable when checked on August 18, 2026. A large 100W-plus desktop charger is unnecessary if the Flip3 is your only device. Choose one only when you have a clear laptop or multi-device use case.
Best first-party choice: Samsung 15W-compatible charger
A Samsung-branded 15W-compatible charger is the straightforward option for buyers who want first-party guidance and do not need laptop-class output. Samsung’s charging guidance includes the Galaxy Z Flip3 and recommends approved chargers and cables (Samsung charging support).
Best for several devices: multi-port USB-C charger
Two or more ports are useful for a phone, earbuds, watch or tablet, but check the power allocation. Some chargers reduce the first port’s output when another port is occupied. A 45W–65W model can be worthwhile for another device; it will not make the Flip3 charge at 45W or 65W.

USB-C, USB-A and cable selection
Prefer USB-C output and a USB-C-to-USB-C cable. An older USB-A charger can charge the phone with a USB-A-to-USB-C cable, but its output may be lower and less consistent. The cable must be undamaged and appropriate for the charger’s intended output. A bundled cable is convenient, but check its length and construction.
Are 25W, 45W or 65W chargers safe?
Usually, yes, when the charger is from a reputable manufacturer, meets recognized safety standards and negotiates power through USB Power Delivery. The phone requests an appropriate level; the charger does not force its maximum into the device. Excess capacity is useful for other hardware, not for faster Flip3 charging.
- Do not use counterfeit, damaged, buzzing or suspiciously cheap chargers.
- Replace worn cables and stop using accessories with melting, discoloration or a burning smell.
- On a multi-port charger, expect output sharing when several devices are connected.
Samsung warns against worn or damaged accessories in its Flip3 safety and specification material.

Does PPS matter?
Programmable Power Supply (PPS) is important for some Samsung phones’ higher-wattage Super Fast Charging modes, but it is not a requirement for the Flip3’s 15W maximum. Prioritize a USB-C port, dependable USB Power Delivery behavior, safety, size and port count. Samsung’s compatibility guidance discusses USB PD/PPS and lists Galaxy Z Flip models with 15W charging (Samsung charging compatibility guidance).

Choose a Qi pad or stand rated for at least 10W
The Flip3 can charge while closed on a Qi-compatible pad or stand. A charger rated at 15W or more is acceptable, but the phone remains limited to approximately 10W wireless. A flat pad with a visible center marker is often more forgiving than a narrow stand because the folded phone’s hinge and camera bump can make it sit unevenly.
Look for a stable, non-slip surface, a sufficiently large coil, foreign-object detection, thermal management and a clearly specified wall adapter. A wireless pad without an appropriate power source is not a complete charging setup. Anker’s collection includes 313 pad and stand listings; confirm the current model, Qi output, adapter and price at Anker’s listings.

Cases, metal and magnetic accessories
Thin silicone or plastic cases usually have the best chance of working. Thick rugged cases, metal plates, wallets and cards can reduce or stop charging. Remove cards and metal objects between the phone and pad. Samsung warns that metal or magnetic material can reduce efficiency or cause damage (Samsung wireless-charging support).
Qi2 compatibility and magnetic alignment
The Flip3 predates Qi2 and has no built-in Qi2-style magnetic alignment. A Qi2 charger will not automatically attach to the bare phone. A compatible case or adhesive magnetic ring may improve positioning, but it does not raise the phone’s 10W wireless ceiling.

- Advantages: convenient at a desk or bedside, no repeated plugging and usable while the phone is closed.
- Disadvantages: slower and less efficient than wired charging, more heat, alignment sensitivity and possible case interference.
Best portable chargers
Best everyday option: 10,000mAh USB-C power bank
Choose a bank with USB-C input and output, at least 15W output, clear remaining-capacity indicators and a compact shape that does not obstruct the cable. Wired USB-C charging is the practical choice: it avoids wireless alignment and energy losses. Charge the bank before leaving and keep both devices ventilated.

When 20,000mAh is worth it
A 20,000mAh bank is better for multi-day travel or several devices, but it is heavier and bulkier. Samsung’s 45W 20,000mAh Battery Pack includes a 5A USB-C cable and is aimed at that multi-device use case (Samsung 45W 20,000mAh Battery Pack). Its 45W rating benefits compatible tablets or laptops, not the Flip3.
Wireless battery packs
Wireless packs are convenience products. Samsung’s 25W 10,000mAh Wireless Battery Pack offered wireless charging and up to 25W wired output; its US page displayed $44.99 on August 18, 2026 (Samsung product page). Use its USB-C output for the Flip3 when efficiency and speed matter. Wireless output is slower, warmer and more dependent on precise placement.
Recommended setups
Basic wired setup
- Use a USB-C charger rated for at least 15W.
- Connect a USB-C-to-USB-C cable.
- Plug it into the phone’s USB-C port and confirm the charging indicator.
- If charging is slow, test a different known-good cable and charger.
Bedside wireless setup
- Connect the Qi pad or stand to its specified adapter.
- Remove wallets, cards, metal plates and magnetic objects.
- Place the closed phone centrally and confirm charging.
- If it starts and stops, remove the case, recenter the phone or try a flat pad.
Travel setup
- Fully charge the power bank before departure.
- Use its USB-C output for the Flip3.
- Keep the phone and bank ventilated during charging.
- Check the bank’s watt-hour label and airline rules before flying.
Troubleshooting
“Slow charging” message
- Try another cable and wall charger.
- Use a wall outlet instead of a laptop, vehicle or low-output USB port.
- Let the phone cool and avoid heavy use while charging.
- Inspect the USB-C port without inserting metal objects.
- Test wireless charging to distinguish a cable or port problem.
Wireless charging disconnects
Recenter the phone, remove the case and metal accessories, use a flat Qi pad and verify the recommended adapter. A hot charger or unstable stand can also interrupt charging.

Some warmth is normal, particularly with wireless charging and compact GaN hardware. Burning odor, buzzing, discoloration or repeated shutdowns are not normal; stop using the accessory and replace it.
Power bank does not charge
Confirm that its USB-C port supports output, press its activation button if required, try another cable, recharge the bank and disconnect other devices. Some banks enter a low-current mode with small accessories.
Slow charging in a car
Vehicle USB ports may provide far less power than a wall charger. A dedicated USB-C car charger with a stated output is a separate purchase, not an interchangeable wall adapter.
