What to look for in a free full-page screenshot tool
A full-page capture extension typically scrolls through a webpage, captures sections, and assembles them into one image. This is useful for preserving a long article or page that does not fit on screen. For batch capture or multipage PDF: verify FireShot directly
OpenCapture’s comparison says FireShot supports batch capture and multipage PDFs, while editing and batch tools are licensed. Because that information comes from a competing product, treat it as a lead to verify, not a definitive current feature or pricing statement. Choose an image or a genuinely useful PDF
A full-page screenshot is a long image; a PDF export does not automatically make it a readable, print-ready document. If you need to print or share a report, inspect page breaks, text size, and whether the export places the whole long image on one page or splits it across pages. For a document intended to be read or printed, compare the output itself rather than treating every PDF export as equivalent.

Privacy and capture limitations
OpenCapture and GoFullScreenshot describe their processing as local and say capture data is not uploaded. Those statements can help narrow your choice, but they are not independent audits. Review the extension’s permissions and privacy information, particularly before capturing internal dashboards, personal data, or confidential material.

The capture is cut off or split
Very long pages can exceed an image-size limit. Try capturing a shorter page or using a tool that handles the page in multiple images. If only part of the page is missing, check whether the content loads as you scroll or appears only after interaction.

The editor or blur tool is unavailable
Some extensions separate capture from editing, or place editing behind a paid tier. GoFullPage describes its editor as premium; OpenCapture lists crop, annotation, and blur among its free features. Confirm the current plan details in the vendor’s listing.
Capture fails on a protected page
Some browser-protected pages cannot be captured by extensions. GoFullScreenshot documents Chrome-protected pages as out of scope. Try a normal webpage to check whether the extension itself is working.
The PDF is hard to read or print
A PDF may simply contain a long screenshot rather than reflowable text or well-designed pages. Check page breaks and zoom before treating the export as a print-ready document; choose a workflow designed for paginated output if that is essential.

Can I blur sensitive information safely?
Blur is listed as an editing feature by OpenCapture, but the reviewed sources do not independently establish that blurring irreversibly removes the underlying information. Do not treat it as verified redaction for highly sensitive content.
