For placing a new food order by conversation, Grubhub and Uber Eats are the clearest documented choices with Alexa+. For repeating a familiar Uber Eats order or checking its status, Uber Eats also documents commands through Google Assistant and Siri, plus Alexa tracking. Google Search and Maps can help find ordering providers, but Google’s current instructions send you to a provider’s website to browse and order rather than describing voice checkout.
Which food delivery apps support voice ordering?
The important distinction is whether an assistant can build and submit a new order, repeat a previous one, track an order, or only point you to a service. Those are different capabilities, and an app’s presence in an assistant does not necessarily mean you can complete checkout by voice.

Best for placing a new order conversationally: Grubhub or Uber Eats with Alexa+
Alexa+ is the documented option here for moving from a craving or restaurant idea to a new cart through conversation. Amazon’s March 31, 2026 announcement describes asking for restaurants, building or changing a cart, reviewing the order, and receiving updates. Grubhub’s VP of Product Tapojoy Chatterjee described the experience this way: “Customers can simply talk through what they’re craving, ask questions, get recommendations, and build their order in real time.” That is the vendor’s description of the feature, not an independent usability assessment.

To connect an account, use the Alexa app and go to More > Alexa+ Store > Food & Reservations, then link Grubhub or Uber Eats. Amazon says past orders sync for Uber Eats. Once linked, ask Alexa+ to find a restaurant or start an order. Before placing it, review the items, quantities, and checkout summary. Customization options vary by restaurant.
The initial food-ordering rollout is described for newer Echo Show 8 devices and larger. Check Amazon’s current eligibility and device availability before buying hardware or assuming the feature is active for your account.

Best for repeating an Uber Eats order or checking delivery status
Uber Eats’ app-linked assistant commands are useful when you already know what you want. Uber documents reordering through Google Assistant and Siri, and checking current or in-progress order status through those assistants. Its Alexa integration, as described on the Uber help page, is for order tracking; do not treat it as the same new-order flow as Alexa+.

Use a Google Assistant-enabled mobile device and the latest Uber Eats app. Uber’s help page gives examples such as “reorder [restaurant] on Uber Eats” and says commands work worldwide in English and Portuguese. The flow allows confirmation or modification before submission.

Siri
In Uber Eats, configure commands under Account > Voice Command Settings, then follow the current in-app instructions. Uber lists English, German, Japanese, French, Hindi, and Portuguese for Siri commands. Labels and availability may change, so use the app’s current setup guidance if the path differs.
Alexa
Uber’s documented Alexa capability is asking about an order’s progress, such as “Alexa, where’s my food?” For placing a new conversational order through Alexa+, use the Alexa+ account-linking flow instead.

What Google Search and Maps do—and do not do
Google’s current help guidance describes discovering food-ordering providers for a restaurant in Search or Maps. Selecting a provider takes you to that provider’s website to browse the menu and place an order. That handoff can make it easier to find where a restaurant accepts orders, but it is not documented as voice checkout in Google Assistant. Older announcements should not be used to promise that today’s documented flow completes an order by voice.

- Want to explore and build a new order by conversation? Consider Grubhub or Uber Eats with Alexa+, subject to device rollout, account linking, and restaurant-specific customization.
- Usually order the same meal? Uber Eats’ Google Assistant or Siri reorder commands may be enough if your device, app, and language are supported.
- Only need to find a restaurant’s ordering provider? Google Search or Maps can surface providers, then hands off to the provider website.
- Need a final chance to check the order? Review the Alexa+ checkout summary, or use Uber’s documented pre-submission confirmation or modification in its Google Assistant flow.
- Need help after submission? Alexa+ can provide order updates, but cancellations and issues with completed third-party orders should be handled by the delivery provider.
What survey figures say about voice ordering
The National Restaurant Association’s 2024 Restaurant Technology Landscape Report surveyed consumers who had ordered restaurant delivery in the previous six months. Among that group, 45% said they would likely order through a voice-enabled platform such as Alexa, Google Home, or Siri. For comparison, 71% said they would likely order through a third-party service and 80% through a smartphone app. These are stated likelihoods, not measured adoption or proof that a particular assistant works with every delivery app.
