The strongest 2026 foldable-phone shortlist for photography and battery life is the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8, Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold, and HONOR Magic V5. There is no evidence here for one universal winner: camera quality depends on the photos and video you prefer, while battery figures come from different kinds of evidence and cannot be ranked as if they were measured under one test.
Availability and configurations vary by country. Before choosing, confirm the model sold in your market, then compare camera samples and battery results that match how you use a phone.

How to choose a foldable for photography
Compare actual photos, not megapixel counts
Megapixels describe image dimensions, not whether a camera produces the most pleasing or dependable photos. Look for sample images from each phone in daylight and low light, and compare exposure, detail, color, motion handling, and consistency. The available evidence does not establish a single standardized camera test across these three models, so it cannot support a definitive image-quality ranking.

Check zoom and ultrawide coverage against your use
Google specifies a 5x telephoto on the Pixel 10 Pro Fold and advertises Super Zoom up to 20x. HONOR’s global Magic V5 page lists a periscope telephoto, but the stated megapixel count alone does not show how its zoom performs. For Samsung, consult independent Fold8 sample comparisons for the relevant focal lengths rather than inferring quality from feature descriptions.
Compare ultrawide shots as well as telephoto shots: field of view and image quality matter if you regularly photograph interiors, landscapes, or groups. Google lists a 10.5 MP ultrawide with Macro Focus; that specification is useful for identifying its coverage, not proof that it wins every close-up or wide-angle comparison.

Include portraits and video
Portrait rendering and video quality can differ from ordinary still-photo performance. Review sample portraits for edge handling and skin tones, and watch video samples for stabilization, focus changes, exposure shifts, and audio. Do not assume a phone that leads in zoom or daylight stills will also be your preferred video camera.
How to compare battery life fairly
Keep three kinds of battery evidence separate:
- Capacity: Samsung lists 4,800 mAh for the Fold8. Tom’s Guide reports 5,820 mAh for the international Magic V5 and 6,100 mAh for its China version. These figures describe battery capacity, not time in use.
- Manufacturer estimate: Google advertises 24+ hours for the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Treat this as Google’s claim, not as a result directly comparable with a review’s test.
- Review test: Tom’s Guide recorded 12 hours 19 minutes for the Galaxy Z Fold8 in its web-surfing-over-5G test. A result from another test is comparable only if the protocol and conditions are sufficiently alike.
When checking independent endurance reviews, look for the network, screen brightness, workload, and whether the inner or cover display was used. Foldables can be used with different screens and usage patterns, so a test’s display state and workload matter. The cited sources do not provide a common endurance protocol for all three phones.

Start with the Galaxy Z Fold8 if you want the current Samsung option
The Fold8 is the current Samsung model in this comparison. Samsung’s 2026 materials list its 4,800 mAh battery, while Tom’s Guide supplies a specific 5G web-surfing result. Consider HONOR Magic V5 where it is sold
The Magic V5’s availability and battery capacity depend on market: Tom’s Guide distinguishes the international and China versions. Confirm the exact regional handset and its specifications before treating a capacity figure as applicable to the phone you can buy. HONOR’s 64 MP periscope specification does not by itself settle telephoto image quality.
What about the Galaxy Z Fold7?
The Galaxy Z Fold7 is prior-generation context rather than the default choice for a current Samsung recommendation. Samsung lists a 200 MP main camera, 10 MP 3x telephoto, and 4,400 mAh battery for it. It may be worth comparing if discounted, but older Fold7 comparisons should not be presented as tests of the 2026 Fold8.

- Confirm the phone’s availability, exact regional configuration, price, weight, durability, and software-support terms in your market.
- Compare daylight, low-light, portrait, ultrawide, zoom, and video samples from the specific models under consideration.
