Match the add-on to the capture job

Look for a full-page capture mode and the file format you need. If the page uses lazy-loaded images, sticky headers, or floating controls, a listing that specifically mentions those cases may be a useful starting point. Inspect the result for missing sections, repeated elements, or unexpected overlays.
A dashboard or app with inner scrolling
Prioritize listings that explicitly name nested scroll containers, inner scrollable elements, scroll panels, or app-style pages. A selected region, element, or annotated image
If you need only part of a page, consider an add-on advertising region or element capture rather than capturing everything and cropping afterward. OpenScreenShot and FullPage Capture advertise region modes; Fullshot advertises element capture. For markup or redaction, OpenCapture advertises crop, annotation, and blur, while other listings describe editing tools. Verify that the specific editing operation you need is available in the current version.

A PDF or clipboard workflow
Check the exact export formats: several listings advertise PDF, while others emphasize PNG or clipboard output. A PDF option may be useful for sharing or printing, but inspect page breaks, scaling, and whether the output is a single image or paginated document before distributing it.

Permissions, privacy, and maintenance checks
Permissions are not interchangeable. The listings describe requests ranging from downloads/history to website-data access, browser-tab access, or activeTab-oriented permissions. Read the current Firefox installation prompt rather than assuming that an extension’s capture purpose implies narrow access. For GoFullPage, the listing names access to its own domains; Fullshot’s listing names activeTab, scripting, and storage.
Some listings state that processing is local or that no data is collected or uploaded. Those statements describe what the developers declare; they do not independently prove how the code behaves.
