The right external speakers depend on your exact LG 34-inch monitor model. If its manual lists a Headphone Out or 3.5 mm AUX port, LG’s guidance supports connecting an external speaker there; for that route, look for powered desktop speakers with a matching 3.5 mm input. LG has not established a universal speaker recommendation for its 34-inch monitors, so check the monitor and speaker specifications before buying.
Check whether your LG monitor already has speakers
Some LG 34-inch monitors include built-in audio. For example, LG lists 7 W × 2 speakers for the 34WN650 and 34WN750. Those examples do not establish that every LG 34-inch monitor has speakers.
Built-in speakers and a headphone output are separate features. A monitor’s internal speakers do not tell you whether it also has an output for external analog speakers. Check the specifications and manual for your exact model.
How to choose compatible external speakers
Confirm the monitor’s audio output
Find the model number on the monitor or in its settings, then consult its manual and inspect its ports. LG’s connection guidance, dated August 21, 2024, describes connecting an external speaker to the monitor’s Headphone Out port when that port is present. LG notes that ports and behavior vary by model.

Match the speaker input
For the documented analog route, a practical shopping filter is a powered desktop speaker with a 3.5 mm analog input. Verify that the speaker accepts the connection shown in your monitor’s manual. LG’s guidance describes sending video and audio from the AV source to the monitor over HDMI, then connecting a speaker to the monitor’s Headphone Out port.
Check power, cable, and desk fit
Confirm the speaker’s power method and whether the required cable is included using the speaker manufacturer’s specifications or seller listing. Compare physical dimensions against your available desk space, and choose according to your intended listening use. The monitor’s connection information alone cannot establish a speaker’s sound quality, value, or fit.

What if your monitor has no headphone output?
If the manual does not list a Headphone Out or 3.5 mm AUX port, do not assume the monitor can send audio to an external analog speaker. Check the computer or other AV source for an audio output and consult the relevant device manuals for a compatible alternative. LG’s cited instructions do not establish one alternate connection that works for every monitor and source.

No. The exact monitor model is unspecified, and no particular speaker has been tested or comparatively evaluated here. Compatibility depends on the monitor’s available output and the speaker’s matching input. For a model-specific choice, verify both devices’ current specifications rather than relying on a general “LG 34-inch” label.
