On PS5, start with the preset that makes the action feel manageable, then switch on only the assists that address a specific barrier: Simplified Quick Time Events for timed prompts, Control Reminders or Tutorial Reminders for learning actions, and control options for input comfort. These are practical starting points based on the options the game lists—not a configuration established through playtesting.
How to find the accessibility settings
IO Interactive’s official 007 First Light accessibility guide, dated May 26, 2026, says most options are in the game’s Accessibility, Audio, Video/Visual, and Controls menus. Some features also depend on console or PC-level settings. The guide covers PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam (PC), and cautions that options may be grouped or named differently across platforms.
Use the guide’s platform-specific list as a map, then check the corresponding in-game menu: similarly named options do not guarantee identical behavior or availability. The overview describes subtitles and input support differently for each platform, including keyboard and mouse and single-stick play on Steam, advanced controller remapping on Xbox, and DualSense- or platform-dependent options on PS5.
Choose difficulty and assists by the barrier you face
The PS5 product listing describes adjustable difficulty as a way to reduce the overall challenge by choosing an alternative preset. It does not name every preset or explain its exact gameplay effects, so there is no evidence-based universal preset recommendation. Instead, match the setting to what is making play difficult.

If you are new to action games
Choose the less demanding preset that feels comfortable. Turn on Control Reminders or Tutorial Reminders if you want help recalling what actions do. The official PS5 listing confirms these reminders can be reviewed at any time; it does not prescribe a particular beginner preset.
If timed prompts are the problem
Enable Simplified Quick Time Events. This PS5 assist targets the timing challenge of on-screen prompts separately from the overall difficulty preset, so you can keep the broader challenge at a level you enjoy.

If you need different controls
On PS5, inspect advanced controller remapping, basic stick sensitivity adjustment, and advanced horizontal and vertical stick inversion. The listing also says the game can be played without motion controls, touch controls, controller vibration, or adaptive trigger effects. Available mappings and their exact menu labels should be confirmed in-game.
If reading or hearing dialogue is difficult
PS5 lists fully subtitled spoken dialogue, advanced and clear subtitles, volume controls, and mono audio. Check the platform-specific subtitle or audio options that fit your needs; the guide describes different subtitle and audio features across platforms.

If visual comfort is the issue
Check the options available on your platform for color alternatives, text size or readability, and camera comfort. The support guide lists visual features by platform rather than promising the same set everywhere.
If you need to pause
The PS5 listing says gameplay or cinematics can be paused during offline play only. That condition matters: the listing does not promise pausing in online play or every situation.

What differs on Xbox and Steam
The official support guide lists additional platform-specific options, but these should not be treated as settings available on PS5 or as proof of feature parity.

For a cross-platform choice, compare whether the specific assist you need is listed for that platform, how much input flexibility it offers, and which subtitle, audio, text, color, camera, pause, or save options apply. Also distinguish in-game options from capabilities that may come from console or PC settings.

When software settings are not enough
A platform-compatible adaptive input device may help with a control barrier that the in-game options do not address. Compatibility depends on the particular device and setup; the official game sources do not confirm support for any specific third-party controller.
The official sources document available settings, not measured accessibility outcomes or an optimal configuration for every player. A May 26, 2026 TechRadar review reports that its reviewer changed difficulty during their own PS5 Pro playthrough, but that anecdote does not establish a universal recommendation or override the official platform feature lists.
