There is no single best Crimson Desert graphics preset for every PC or Mac. First check that your system meets Pearl Abyss’s requirements, update the game and PC graphics drivers, and then adjust settings gradually while comparing frame rate, smoothness, and image quality on your own device. On Mac, start with the game’s “For this Mac” preset, which adapts settings and resolution to the computer.
What to do first if Crimson Desert is running poorly
- Check your hardware and resolution. Record your operating system, processor, graphics card or Mac chip, memory, and display resolution. On PC, compare them with Pearl Abyss’s requirements below. A system below minimum requirements may struggle even with reduced graphics settings.
- Update the game and check known issues. Pearl Abyss advises installing available updates and checking its support information; a patch may already address the problem.
- Update PC graphics drivers. Install the current driver for your graphics card, then restart the game and see whether the issue changes.
- Verify game files if problems persist. Use the file-integrity verification option in the platform where you installed the game. Pearl Abyss says damaged or missing files can cause launch failures, crashes, graphical glitches, and other gameplay problems.
- Test background applications. Security software, VPNs, firewalls, anti-spyware tools, and recording or broadcasting applications can interfere with launching or affect performance and stability. Close or temporarily disable them only when safe and appropriate, then test again.
- Change one graphics option at a time. Keep resolution and other settings unchanged while testing each adjustment. Compare the result in the same gameplay situation, noting frame rate, perceived smoothness, and image quality. This makes it easier to identify which change helped on your hardware.
Pearl Abyss’s support guidance is available in Before submitting your report. Its recommendations are troubleshooting steps, not a guarantee of a particular frame rate.
Check whether your PC meets the official requirements
Pearl Abyss lists the following PC requirements on its support page, updated July 6, 2026. These are hardware specifications, not benchmark results.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →| Requirement | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10 64-bit | Not stated separately by Pearl Abyss |
| Processor | AMD Ryzen 5 2600X or Intel Core i5-8500 | AMD Ryzen 5 5600 or Intel Core i5-11600K |
| Memory | 16 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| Graphics card | AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 | AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT or NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 |
| Graphics API | DirectX 12 | DirectX 12 |
| Storage | 150 GB available space; SSD required | 150 GB available space; SSD required |
Compare the exact CPU and GPU model, not just the brand or product family. If your machine meets the minimum but falls short of the recommended tier, lower settings may improve playability, but Pearl Abyss’s published requirements do not establish a specific FPS outcome. The listed SSD requirement supports having SSD storage; it does not establish that an NVMe drive, by itself, will increase frame rate.

- WINDFORCE Cooling System
- Hawk Fan
- Server-grade Thermal Conductive Gel
- RGB Lighting
Pearl Abyss says its published performance figures are based on internal testing and that performance may vary with hardware, software configuration, and individual graphics settings. The available official notice does not establish a universal setting-by-setting ranking or an FPS guarantee. See Pearl Abyss’s PC, Console, Mac Performance Specs notice, published March 10, 2026.
How to choose PC settings without guessing
Start with the game’s default settings, then make controlled changes rather than applying an unverified preset from another computer. Differences in graphics hardware, software, and resolution can make the same option produce different results.
- Set a resolution you can sustain comfortably and keep it fixed while testing other options.
- Adjust one graphics setting, play the same type of scene, and note any change in frame rate, smoothness, and visual detail.
- Keep a change only if its visual trade-off is worthwhile and it improves your experience.
- If the result is unclear, return that option to its prior value before testing the next one.
Do not treat a higher FPS counter as the only measure of improvement: frame-time smoothness and image quality matter too. The official sources reviewed do not provide enough setting-specific benchmark data to name one best graphics option or promise a gain for every PC.

Crimson Desert Mac settings
On Mac, begin with Pearl Abyss’s “For this Mac” preset. The developer says it selects settings and resolution intended to provide optimal visual quality and performance for the individual Mac, and that the selected options vary with the hardware. It is an adaptive starting point, not a guarantee that every Mac will deliver the same result.
Pearl Abyss recommends macOS 26 “Tahoe” or later for optimal performance and stability. If performance remains poor, check for game updates and consider whether other software may be affecting stability. The PC graphics-driver advice does not apply in the same way to Macs; use the software updates available for your Mac and operating system. The performance notice is dated March 10, 2026; consult it for the developer’s published platform guidance.
When to verify files or reinstall
Verify files for crashes, launch failures, or visual glitches
Use your installation platform’s file-verification feature before reinstalling. Pearl Abyss identifies corrupted game files as a possible cause of launch failures, crashes, glitched graphics, and other gameplay issues. Verification is a targeted step when problems suggest damaged or missing files; it is not a graphics optimization setting.

Back up saves before a clean install
If verification does not resolve the issue and you decide to reinstall, back up your saves first. Pearl Abyss’s support article provides separate save locations for PC, Steam Mac, and Mac App Store versions: Before submitting your report. Use the path for your specific installation rather than assuming Mac versions store saves in the same location.
What not to assume about FPS and upscaling
Published system requirements are not performance tests. The official performance notice describes internal testing and warns that results vary, but the information available here does not establish a dependable FPS figure for a particular PC or Mac. Nor does it support a universal list of graphics settings that will work best across devices.
A Pearl Abyss FAQ search result mentions PC support for FSR, DLSS, and XeSS, and Mac support for MetalFX upscaling and frame generation. Because the FAQ page could not be confirmed directly, those specific technology and version claims should not be treated as established current features. Check the in-game menu and current official support information for the options available to your game version and hardware.
