Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallIf you already use Cloudinary, its URL2PNG add-on can capture a public web page and feed the result into Cloudinary’s image pipeline. If you need a dedicated screenshot API instead, start with ScreenshotNeo: it removes common consent banners, popups and chat widgets before capture, and bills only clean shots. ScreenshotOne, Urlbox and Screenshot API are other candidates, each with different documented options and plan limits. No independent, comparable reliability or rendering-quality tests establish a universal winner, so run the same representative pages through any finalist before switching.
What Cloudinary does—and what an alternative changes
Cloudinary’s URL2PNG Website Screenshots add-on accepts a public website URL as the source for a screenshot. It creates the screenshot through a dynamic transformation URL, caches and serves it through Cloudinary’s CDN, and lets you apply further image transformations. Documented capture options include viewport, user agent and delay; downstream transformations can include crops, borders, rounded corners, shadows and overlays. See Cloudinary’s URL2PNG documentation.
That integration is useful if Cloudinary already handles your image storage, transformations and delivery. The add-on requires a Cloudinary account and registration. Cloudinary says transformation URLs are signed or eagerly generated by default because unplanned dynamic screenshot requests can create costs; an account can optionally permit unsigned add-on transformations. This is a default control with a configurable setting, not an absolute restriction.
A standalone API may be a better fit if screenshot capture is the main requirement, if you need workflows beyond Cloudinary’s documented capture options, or if you want to compare a dedicated service’s quota and billing model. Switching can also mean assembling image optimization, storage or CDN delivery separately if your current workflow depends on Cloudinary for those tasks.

ScreenshotOne’s pricing page includes a vendor-hosted testimonial from Guillaume Barillot, CTO at Deepidoo. That is a customer statement published by the vendor, not independent testing, and it does not establish comparative product quality.
Which alternative fits your workflow?
Choose ScreenshotNeo for clean captures and clear billing outcomes
ScreenshotNeo is the first dedicated option to try when consent banners, newsletter popups or chat widgets would make a screenshot unusable, or when you want to distinguish clean captures from bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads and cache hits. Each response reports a page verdict and billing status in headers. Its MCP server exposes take_screenshot, get_page_info and capture_pdf for Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients. The monthly plans and full feature set are listed above; see the ScreenshotNeo documentation.
Choose ScreenshotOne for its documented direct API and published tiers
ScreenshotOne documents both GET and POST calls and supports image and PDF output. Its listed options include full-page shots, caching, HTML rendering, webhooks and S3 uploads, but packaging varies by tier. Its pricing terms count successful requests; visual issues can still count, unique uncached screenshots determine usage, and cache misses may cause rerender billing. Model your actual request and cache pattern rather than treating the headline monthly quota as a guaranteed count of all attempts.

Choose Urlbox if output types and job patterns matter
Urlbox documents screenshots, PDFs, videos, and extraction of text, HTML and metadata. It offers render links as well as synchronous and asynchronous JSON API calls. Its plans differ in render quotas and other controls, including rate limits, third-party website access, privacy features, timeouts, storage and service-level provisions. Check the specific tier for the limits your workflow needs; not every feature is in every plan.
Evaluate Screenshot API for single and batch capture
Screenshot API documents individual GET and POST capture routes and a POST batch route. Its documentation lists image and PDF formats, full-page capture and advanced POST options. Confirm the current request limit, quota terms and the exact options supported by the plan before using its stated free allowance in production estimates.

How to compare providers without guessing
A documentation feature list cannot tell you whether a provider will render your pages correctly or reliably. Use the same representative pages and capture settings for each finalist, and compare the result against the requirements of your application.
- Estimate real monthly usage. Count expected successful, unique renders, then identify how caching, retries, cache misses, failed loads and provider-specific billing rules change that count. Compare total cost at your volume, not just the starting price.
- Pick representative pages. Include a typical page and the hardest real cases: JavaScript-heavy pages, long or lazy-loaded pages, pages that need a selector or delay, and any authenticated or geographically sensitive pages your service must capture.
- Match rendering requirements. Check viewport versus full-page capture, output format and dimensions, selector support, custom CSS or JavaScript, headers and cookies, regional rendering and handling of blocked pages. Feature availability may depend on plan.
- Match the workflow. Decide whether you need a direct image URL, binary or JSON response, synchronous request, asynchronous job, batch capture, webhook or storage integration. Include any PDF, video or extracted-content requirement.
- Account for image delivery. If Cloudinary currently crops, optimizes, stores and delivers screenshots, include the work and cost of replacing those stages when comparing standalone APIs.
- Check operational controls. Verify API-key handling, signed URLs, privacy and proxy behavior, rate limits, retention, support and any SLA terms that matter to your application. Do not infer security or reliability superiority from feature lists alone.
- Verify terms before migration. Recheck current price, quota counting, overages, timeouts, plan restrictions and required security settings on the provider’s own pages.
Or skip the browser setup
For one request, replace the example target URL with the page you need and your API key. The request returns the screenshot data; this example saves it as a WebP file.

Comparing monthly quotas as if all attempts count the same
Providers define usage differently. ScreenshotOne says successful requests count, with unique uncached screenshots determining usage and possible rerender billing on cache misses. ScreenshotNeo states that bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads and cache hits are not billed and reports verdict and billing headers. Compare the rules against your expected failures and cache behavior, and inspect the response information your application can use.
Assuming every URL can be captured without access or policy issues
The documented workflows concern public web pages, and provider capabilities for third-party sites differ. A screenshot API does not by itself establish permission to access a page or bypass its access controls. Check the target site’s terms and the provider’s rules, and test the pages your application is allowed to capture.

Letting screenshot URLs become an uncontrolled cost surface
Dynamic screenshot requests can generate usage, which is why Cloudinary defaults its add-on transformations to signed URLs or eager generation. Keep API credentials out of public client code unless the provider explicitly supports a safe public-link pattern. For any provider, understand signing, caching, access controls and the effect of user-controlled URLs before exposing capture functionality.
Treating a clean response as proof of a correct capture
A request completing does not prove that the desired content rendered at the right viewport or after the right scripts ran. Compare returned images and metadata with expected output, especially for pages dependent on delayed content, selectors, authentication or location. Set explicit waits or capture options where supported, and include failures and retries in cost and latency planning.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use Cloudinary and a dedicated screenshot API together?
Yes. A team could capture through a dedicated API and send the resulting image through its existing Cloudinary transformations and delivery workflow. Whether that is worthwhile depends on the extra integration and the provider’s output and storage options.
Which provider is fastest or most reliable?
The published documentation and pricing reviewed here do not provide an independent, apples-to-apples performance or reliability comparison. Test your own target pages, regions and request patterns before making that decision.
Are the listed prices guaranteed to stay current?
No. They are vendor-published figures checked October 3, 2026. Vendors can change quotas, prices and plan features; confirm the live pricing and terms before committing.
