For an always-on YouTube channel playing recorded church services, StreamNeo is the first service to consider: it loops uploaded videos from the cloud, supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day. Among the other services compared here, Gyre is the clearest fit for continuous prerecorded church streaming; Castr is a strong alternative if you also need scheduled broadcasts, multiple destinations, or a website player. Restream supports scheduled prerecorded streams, but its reviewed official pages do not establish unattended, continuous playlist looping.

First decide whether you need one scheduled “simulive” broadcast or a channel that loops a playlist indefinitely. They are different jobs, and a provider that supports prerecorded live video does not necessarily support an always-on loop.

Which cloud service fits a 24/7 recorded church stream?

These services play uploaded recordings out as live broadcasts, so the stream need not depend on a computer at the church remaining on. The strongest fit depends on whether you need YouTube-only looping or a broader publishing workflow.

Service Fit for the church’s use case What to verify
StreamNeo Best first option for a YouTube-only, always-on loop: cloud playback, playlists, and automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream; any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot; first day free. Confirm the recording fits your pooled storage allowance of 10 GB per active slot and test your own playlist and stream key.
Gyre Its official site expressly describes 24/7 prerecorded church streaming, uploaded files, looping playlists, scheduling, and cloud operation. Check current plan storage, resolution, number of simultaneous streams, and whether scheduler and playlist functions are included in the tier you select. Its growth claims are vendor marketing, not independently established results.
Castr Supports scheduled prerecorded broadcasts, continuous playlist loops, multiple destinations, an embedded player, and a church workflow. Castr says infinite looping is available on Premium and higher. Check plan-specific file duration, concurrent streams, storage, bandwidth, and destinations.
Restream Supports prerecorded Upload & Stream, multistreaming, custom RTMP, and has a worship solution page. The reviewed official pages do not confirm a continuous, unattended prerecorded playlist loop. Confirm that exact requirement with Restream before choosing it for a 24/7 channel.

StreamNeo: YouTube-only cloud looping

StreamNeo is a cloud service from Yorker Media for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded recordings. Upload a video or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live; StreamNeo plays the material from the cloud, so a local computer and home connection do not have to stay on. It plays uploaded videos, not a live camera feed, and streams to YouTube only. A slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB of storage per slot pooled across active slots, 24/7 looping and playlists, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and StreamNeo team support. All plans have the same features; only billing duration changes. See StreamNeo for details.

Gyre: the clearest non-StreamNeo match for church loops

Gyre’s official church material describes the specific workflow of uploading prerecorded services, arranging them into playlists, scheduling, and streaming continuously from the cloud. Its plan limits matter: compare the included storage, resolution, simultaneous streams, and scheduler or playlist access against the number and quality of your recordings. The reviewed material displays a seven-day free trial and tiered options, but the billing selector offers multiple durations; check the selected billing period and current checkout terms rather than assuming a displayed amount is monthly.

Castr: looping plus broader publishing

Castr can be a better fit if the church wants more than YouTube—for example, scheduled simulive broadcasts, several destinations, or an embedded website player. Its distinction between a scheduled prerecorded broadcast and an infinite loop is important: the latter is stated to require Premium or higher. Review current limits for stream concurrency, file duration, bandwidth, storage, and destinations before choosing a tier.

Restream: useful for scheduled prerecorded streams, but verify looping

Restream’s official materials describe uploading prerecorded videos for streaming, multistreaming to social channels, and custom RTMP, as well as a worship use case. A vendor-hosted testimonial from Reverend Allen Drake of Living Word of Plum says Restream made it easy to stream services to Facebook and YouTube and schedule prerecorded videos to keep the congregation engaged during the week. That is a customer testimonial, not independent comparative evidence. The reviewed pages do not establish that Restream can keep a playlist running continuously without supervision, so get confirmation of that exact workflow before relying on it for 24/7 playout.

Choose between a scheduled broadcast and an always-on loop

Scheduled prerecorded service

Use this when you want a particular service to begin at a set time as a live event—for example, a Sunday service premiere—then end when the recording finishes. Confirm how the service handles the end of the video, viewer access, and any replay or archive.

Continuous playlist loop

Use this when the channel should stay live through a sequence of recordings, then restart the playlist or continue playing. Confirm whether looping is truly continuous, whether the selected tier permits it, and what viewers see during transitions or if a file fails. A “prerecorded live” feature alone does not prove that an unattended loop is supported.

Check the church’s needs before committing

Destinations and presentation

  • If the goal is only a YouTube channel, prioritize reliable playlist looping and straightforward stream-key setup.
  • If you also need Facebook or other destinations, a website player, or custom RTMP, compare those capabilities and the plan limits for each destination.
  • Separate prerecorded cloud playout from live-service production. Cameras, a sound-board feed, and an encoder such as OBS are part of capturing and transmitting a live service; they do not by themselves provide a cloud playlist that loops recorded programs.

Files, plans, and operations

  • Check file size, duration, resolution, storage, simultaneous stream limits, and any maximum playlist or loop restrictions.
  • Confirm whether the required scheduler, playlist, recovery, and support features are included at the chosen tier.
  • Ask how the live broadcast ends or restarts, whether YouTube retains an archive as expected, and what happens after a network or platform interruption.
  • Ask the provider to demonstrate the workflow using one of your church’s actual service files before paying for a longer term.

Set up a real-world trial before choosing

  1. Prepare one representative service recording. Use a file with the same typical duration, resolution, and audio mix as the material you intend to broadcast.
  2. Choose the intended workflow. Create one scheduled stream if you need a single broadcast, or a playlist loop if the channel must remain live continuously.
  3. Connect the church’s YouTube channel. Use the provider’s documented connection method and verify that the stream appears on the intended channel.
  4. Observe a complete playback cycle. Check start, transitions, end behavior, restart behavior, and how the stream appears to viewers; for a loop, verify that it returns to the beginning as intended.
  5. Check the YouTube archive. Confirm whether the live recording is retained and whether that meets the church’s expectations.
  6. Confirm limits and support. Ask about file duration and size, storage, resolution, stream concurrency, destinations, support availability, and any additional charges.

These are checks to perform against the provider’s advertised plan differences, not a claim that each provider has been independently tested for reliability. The reviewed material does not establish an independent, like-for-like uptime or audience-outcome comparison.

Copyright and YouTube considerations

Recorded services can include music, readings, images, or other material with rights restrictions. Castr’s church guidance says streaming worship music generally requires a streaming license, gives CCLI as an example, and notes that Castr does not clear music rights. Confirm directly with the church’s licensing provider that its coverage applies to the intended online stream, recordings, territory, and use. A cloud service does not grant rights to the content you upload.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Also verify the church’s current YouTube requirements for livestreaming and the settings that apply to its channel before scheduling a broadcast. Do not treat continuous playback as a substitute for checking platform rules or rights for each item in the playlist.

  • Daily $0.99 per day
  • Weekly $2.99 per week
  • Monthly $9.99 per month

Compare other providers at checkout

Gyre and Castr display mutable plan details, and prices or included limits can change. For Gyre, check the billing duration selected and current storage, stream, resolution, and playlist limits. For Castr, compare the current price and plan limits for bandwidth, storage, concurrent streams, file duration, and destinations; in the reviewed pricing page, infinite looping is stated to require Premium or higher. Do not choose on the headline price alone: calculate the tier needed for the number of streams and destinations the church will actually use.

Common problems and what to check

The stream does not start on time

  • Check that the scheduled time and time zone are correct.
  • Confirm that the YouTube channel connection or stream key is current and assigned to the intended channel.
  • Check that the recording uploaded successfully and meets the provider’s file limits.

The recording plays once but does not loop

  • Confirm that you created a playlist loop rather than a single scheduled simulive broadcast.
  • Check that continuous or infinite looping is included in the selected plan; Castr places infinite looping on Premium and higher.
  • Ask the provider what its end-of-file behavior should look like and test a full cycle before relying on it.

The stream stops or the archive is missing

  • Check the provider’s stream status and YouTube’s live control room for a dropped connection or channel-side issue.
  • Confirm the provider’s documented recovery behavior and whether the YouTube archive is expected to be retained for that broadcast.
  • Contact provider support with the stream time, channel, and file involved; do not assume any service guarantees uninterrupted operation.

Viewers cannot hear or see the service as expected

  • Play the uploaded file locally first and verify its audio mix and picture.
  • Check the broadcast on a separate device and network, not only through the operator’s logged-in view.
  • If the file contains copyrighted music or images, investigate a rights block or restriction with YouTube and the church’s licensing provider.

Or let it run in the cloud

With StreamNeo, upload a recording or build a playlist, add the YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; your uploaded quality streams up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot; and automatic recovery is included if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, and the monthly option is $9.99 per month. It is for uploaded-video playback to YouTube, not a live camera feed. Start your free StreamNeo day.
