If you want camera glasses in 2026, the strongest documented choices are Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 for its published camera and battery claims, Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 for a previous-generation option, and Oakley Meta HSTN for its specified video modes and storage. The available evidence does not support a trustworthy five-product ranking: HTC VIVE Eagle is a possible alternative, but its full specifications and buying availability are not confirmed here, and a fifth verified model is not established.
Camera glasses compared: what is documented
| Model | Published camera and video details | Battery claim | What to know |

These figures are manufacturer specifications and claims, not results from a controlled independent comparison. They do not establish that one model produces better real-world footage or lasts longer under the same recording pattern. Digital Camera World’s 2026 buying guide also identifies battery, stabilization, and connectivity as useful factors to compare.
Which camera glasses should you buy?
Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3: the latest documented option
Consider Gen 3 if you want the newest of the verified choices and the highest stated battery ceiling in this group. Meta announced it on September 23, 2026, listing a 12 MP camera, 3K Ultra HD video, and up to nine hours of battery life. Those are Meta’s claims; they are not independently measured here. Check local availability before choosing it, since launch access may differ by country and retailer.
Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2: a previous-generation alternative
Gen 2 is worth considering if you find it available and its features suit your needs. Meta’s September 17, 2025 announcement specifies 3K Ultra HD video and up to eight hours of typical use. The company also describes hands-free photo and video capture, AI assistance, translation, and open-ear audio, though those extras are secondary if your main priority is recording.

Oakley Meta HSTN: a clearly specified recording format
HSTN is a useful option to assess if its frame and lens choices fit you. Oakley lists a 12 MP still camera, video up to 2203 × 2938 pixels at 30 fps, 32 GB of flash storage, Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 6E, and an eight-hour rechargeable battery claim. Oakley says actual runtime varies with use. Its FAQ describes video capture settings of 30 seconds, 60 seconds, or up to three minutes through the app.
HTC VIVE Eagle: an alternative, not a fully verified pick
A September 30, 2026 Digital Camera World hands-on report describes VIVE Eagle as camera-equipped AI glasses and reports a 3 MP camera. A complete official specification set and purchase availability are not established, so that report alone is not enough to rank it alongside products with primary product documentation.

Why this is not a complete top-five ranking
A five-item list would imply that five products had been verified and compared on similar terms. The currently documented material supports three named products with useful primary specifications, plus one emerging alternative supported here by secondary reporting. It does not establish a fifth camera-glasses model with comparable, confirmed details. Treat a longer list without those checks cautiously rather than assuming its rankings reflect equivalent evidence or testing.
What to check before choosing
- Video needs: Compare the stated resolution and frame rate, but remember that these specifications alone do not establish stabilization, image quality, or performance in difficult light.
- Recording length: Check the available clip-duration settings and whether the device suits short hands-free clips or longer recordings. HSTN’s listed settings include 30 seconds, 60 seconds, and up to three minutes.
- Battery expectations: Treat “up to” and typical-use figures as maker estimates, not a promise for continuous recording. Your use pattern affects runtime.
- Frame, lenses, and prescription: Try the fit where possible and confirm whether the chosen frame and lens options meet your prescription and comfort needs. Do not assume every frame is available with every lens type.
- Phone, app, and region: Confirm operating-system compatibility, required companion app, account requirements, and regional feature availability. Oakley says HSTN requires the Meta AI app and that functionality can vary by region.
- Storage and transfer: Check capacity and how recordings move to your phone or other devices. Oakley publishes 32 GB of flash storage for HSTN; transfer details can depend on the app and connection.
- Outdoor use: If you plan to use the glasses for sports or in changing weather, verify the product’s fit, durability, and weather-resistance rating from its official documentation. The specifications cited here do not establish a comparative sports or weather test.
Recording indicators and privacy
Meta says its capture LED blinks during image or video capture and cannot be disabled. Its July 2026 FAQ says, in context, “The camera is disabled when people try to do this,” referring to attempts to block or disable the capture LED. This is Meta’s description of its product design, not independent verification and not permission to record. Respect people’s consent and applicable recording laws, especially in private settings.

How to choose confidently
- Start with fit and lenses. Narrow the options to frames you can wear comfortably and lens configurations that meet your needs.
- Match recording behavior to your use. Decide whether your priority is quick everyday clips, still photos, or selectable longer video, then check the published settings rather than relying on a headline resolution.
- Check the phone and service requirements. Verify app availability, operating-system support, account setup, and features in your country before purchase.
- Confirm the exact model and local stock. Gen 2 and Gen 3 are separate generations; check the model name and retailer listing, and verify current availability rather than assuming a launch announcement means local stock.
- Read specifications as claims, not a shared test. The figures above come from manufacturers or, for VIVE Eagle, secondary reporting. They are not a like-for-like independent benchmark.
