For a self-managed India VPS, Plex Scale’s listed Mumbai 8 GB tier is the lowest apparent-cost candidate in this shortlist, but its 3 TB monthly transfer allowance leaves little headroom for a continuous 720p stream. VyomCloud lists 5 TB at a higher monthly price; Endercloud’s listed 2 TB is below the estimated video-only traffic for the example below. None has been independently tested here for sustained streaming, so verify the current location, quota rules, renewal cost and support terms before ordering.
If you would rather not administer a server, StreamNeo is a managed option for looping uploaded videos to YouTube. It is not a VPS. This guide compares both approaches and shows how to check whether a VPS’s transfer quota can cover your target quality.
Which option fits an always-on prerecorded stream?
Start with the monthly transfer allowance, not the advertised port speed or vCPU count. A continuous stream sends data every second of the month, so even a modest bitrate can consume several terabytes. The figures below are provider listings checked on 2026-10-03, not checkout guarantees or tested performance.
| Option | Listed plan and price | Listed resources and transfer | What it means for a 24/7 stream |
|---|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo, managed service | Per-slot service; see current terms at StreamNeo | Cloud looping of uploaded videos; vendor material says quality up to uploaded 4K 60fps and a free first day | Does not require you to operate a general-purpose VPS. Compare as a managed alternative, not as VPS hardware. |
| Plex Scale | India/Mumbai 8 GB entry tier; listing showed a promotional ₹399/month figure, which must be confirmed at checkout | 2 vCPU, 8 GB RAM, 80 GB NVMe, 3 TB bandwidth | Lowest apparent price among these VPS listings, but a tight transfer fit for the illustrative 720p30 stream. |
| VyomCloud GPC.SMALL | ₹1,600/month listed | 4 vCPU, 8 GB RAM, 80 GB storage, 5 TB traffic, 250 Mbps shown; root access and a stated 99.5% uptime SLA | More listed transfer headroom at a higher cost. The seller’s SLA is not an independent streaming reliability test. |
| Endercloud INDIA-VPS-8GB | Starting ₹999/month listed | 3 vCore, 8 GB ECC RAM, 50 GB NVMe, 2 TB at 1 Gbps; Mumbai | The listed 2 TB is less than the example’s video-only payload, before audio and overhead. |
| NivoHost RDP 3 | ₹1,799/month listed | Seller lists 720p30, 2 stream handles, 20 TB bandwidth, 8 CPU cores, 16 GB RAM, 160 GB SSD | A specialist listing may simplify setup, but verify what “stream handles” means and whether the stated resolution, term and price suit your use. |
Listings: Plex Scale, VyomCloud, Endercloud, NivoHost. NivoHost also lists ₹699/month for a 360p10 tier and ₹999/month for 480p15; those lower-resolution listings are not directly comparable with 720p plans. Prices, quotas, traffic definitions and service claims are provider listings, not independent test results.

Estimate the bandwidth before you buy
YouTube recommends 8 Mbps H.264 ingestion bitrate for both 720p30 and 720p60. At a constant 8 Mbps, the video-only payload for 30 days is approximately 2.59 TB decimal: 8 megabits per second × 2,592,000 seconds ÷ 8 bits per byte. This is a calculation, not a published YouTube statistic; it excludes audio, protocol overhead and any safety margin.
YouTube advises that available upload bandwidth exceed the total bitrate and recommends 20% headroom. Include audio and overhead in your estimate, then leave additional room rather than planning to consume a quota to its limit. A provider’s advertised 1 Gbps or 250 Mbps port speed is not the same thing as a monthly traffic allowance or a guarantee of sustained throughput.

Use a simple quota check
- Choose the total stream bitrate, including audio, in Mbps.
- Multiply by 2,592,000 seconds for a 30-day month, then divide by 8 to get decimal megabytes.
- Convert that amount to the unit and accounting convention used by the VPS provider. Confirm whether its stated TB is decimal or another convention.
- Add room for overhead, bitrate variation and the provider’s recommended headroom. Check overage charges or what happens at the quota limit.
For the 8 Mbps video-only example, Plex Scale’s listed 3 TB is close enough that audio and overhead matter; VyomCloud’s listed 5 TB provides more nominal room; Endercloud’s listed 2 TB falls below the video payload estimate. These comparisons are based on listed quotas, not observed throughput or actual account metering.
How to choose between the VPS listings
- Confirm the actual India location. The cited listing pages identify Mumbai for the plans noted above, but check the region offered at checkout and any location restrictions.
- Check recurring all-in cost. Confirm renewal price, billing term, tax, promotional conditions, transfer overages and whether the quota resets monthly. The Plex Scale figure is explicitly promotional in the listing.
- Decide whether you will relay or transcode. A relay forwards an already encoded stream; it does not make a listed vCPU count an encoding benchmark. Continuous transcoding or re-encoding can require substantially more compute. No provider in this shortlist has an independent FFmpeg workload benchmark established here.
- Understand support and recovery responsibilities. Ask how the provider handles network interruptions, quota exhaustion, instance reboot and support requests. A seller-stated SLA is not proof that a YouTube broadcast will remain uninterrupted.
Configure a VPS stream to meet YouTube’s requirements
A VPS is only the always-on computer. You still need an encoder or relay process, the media file, a YouTube live stream setup, monitoring and a restart plan. For a relay-only workflow, use an already encoded file or stream path so the server is not needlessly re-encoding it. For transcoding, validate CPU capacity with your actual codec, resolution and frame rate before committing to a plan.

Set up and connect the YouTube stream
- Create or schedule the stream in YouTube Live Control Room. Copy the server URL and stream key shown for the stream. YouTube’s setup guidance describes entering these in the encoder: YouTube encoder setup.
- Keep the stream key private. Do not publish it in a public script, log, screenshot or support post. Rotate it if it is exposed.
- Use RTMPS where supported. YouTube recommends RTMPS, which encrypts data in transit to and through Google’s servers. YouTube’s encoder guidance lists RTMP/RTMPS protocols and H.264, H.265 and AV1 codec support; the chosen encoder and workflow must also support the combination you use.
- Match encoder settings to the intended stream. YouTube lists constant bitrate (CBR), up to 60 fps, a recommended two-second keyframe interval (no more than four seconds), and 128 kbps recommended stereo audio bitrate. Its recommended H.264 bitrate for 720p30 and 720p60 is 8 Mbps. See YouTube’s encoder settings for other resolutions and current guidance.
- Test before relying on the loop. YouTube recommends a test with audio and movement similar to the real stream. Check stream health and make sure the VPS can sustain the total bitrate with room to spare. See YouTube’s streaming tips.
Plan for session limits and interruptions
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; do not assume a single live session is guaranteed to run forever. Decide how an operator will monitor session status and start a replacement session when needed. Supervise the encoder process, confirm its reconnect behavior, keep enough storage available, and check YouTube stream health. A VPS listing by itself does not establish continuous uptime.
Common problems and fixes
- The stream stops when the monthly quota runs out: Compare the provider’s traffic accounting with your total bitrate and expected monthly hours. Check the overage or throttling policy, then choose more quota or reduce the stream bitrate if that remains acceptable.
- YouTube reports unstable stream health: Check outbound capacity against total video and audio bitrate, use the recommended headroom, and inspect the VPS network and encoder logs. A port-speed headline does not confirm sustained usable throughput.
- The VPS CPU stays busy or frames are dropped: Determine whether the workflow is transcoding instead of relaying. Test the actual encoding workload before choosing a CPU plan; listed core counts alone do not show real-world FFmpeg capacity.
- The live broadcast does not reconnect after a disconnect: Check the encoder’s reconnect settings and process supervision, verify the stream key and server URL, and make sure the scheduled YouTube session is still active. Arrange an alert or operator check rather than assuming recovery.
- The stream ends or is archived: YouTube’s stated automatic archive behavior applies to streams under 12 hours. Plan how to start and monitor subsequent sessions instead of treating one session as unlimited.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a managed service for uploaded videos looped to YouTube, rather than a VPS you administer. Upload the recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; it streams the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one price per slot, with no re-encode or quality tiers, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, one free day per account. A slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB storage per slot pooled across active slots, looping and playlists, recovery, and StreamNeo team support; shorter and longer billing terms are available.
