Short answer: Endercloud lists a Mumbai VPS from ₹999/month with 2 TB of bandwidth, while CloudPe advertises India VPS plans from ₹930/month and zero egress fees. Those are provider listings, not proof that a plan can encode and stream your archive continuously. Compare the full checkout terms, estimate transfer at your chosen bitrate, and test the exact setup unattended before relying on it. If you only need prerecorded episodes looped, a managed cloud service such as StreamNeo can avoid running and maintaining your own encoder server.

Which option fits a podcast archive?

For a self-managed setup, compare VPS cost, included outbound data, CPU and memory, storage, location, and the effort required to install, monitor, and recover your encoder. For a prerecorded archive that simply needs to loop, compare those costs and tasks with a managed cloud looping service. The listed price alone does not establish streaming performance for either a particular VPS workload or a managed service’s actual workflow.

Endercloud India VPS Its INDIA-VPS-8GB listing starts at ₹999/month and includes 3 vCores, 8 GB DDR4 ECC RAM, 50 GB NVMe, 2 TB bandwidth, and a stated 1 Gbps port. Endercloud India VPS Checkout price, operating system, included transfer period, overage policy, and sustained performance for your encoder. The listed resources and port rate do not demonstrate continuous encoding capacity.
CloudPe India VPS CloudPe advertises plans from ₹930/month, infrastructure in Mumbai, Delhi, and Chennai, and zero egress fees. CloudPe VPS Chosen region availability, what zero egress covers, any transfer limits, checkout total, and workload performance. These are vendor claims; no encoder benchmark is stated.
StreamSetu managed cloud loop Its page describes 24/7 cloud streaming and playlist scheduling/looping. It shows ₹649 per channel monthly plus ₹49 per 10 GB storage, with 18% GST stated separately. Estimate the bandwidth before choosing a VPS

Continuous outbound transfer can matter as much as CPU and RAM. Estimate data from the encoded bitrate and hours streamed, then allow extra room for protocol overhead and reconnects. YouTube recommends 5 Mbps for H.264 at 1080p30; at that sustained bitrate, 30 days is approximately 1.62 TB using decimal units (5 megabits/second × 2,592,000 seconds ÷ 8). This is a calculation from YouTube’s bitrate recommendation, not a published monthly data figure. Endercloud’s listed 2 TB therefore leaves limited margin at that bitrate. Confirm how the provider measures included bandwidth and what happens if you exceed it. YouTube encoder settings

A 1 Gbps port is a rate, not a monthly transfer allowance. Do not treat it as equivalent to 1 TB or 2 TB of included data. CloudPe’s “zero egress fees” wording also does not by itself establish the absence of bandwidth limits; verify the chosen plan’s exact terms.

Configure a YouTube encoder for a prerecorded loop

YouTube accepts RTMP/RTMPS and lists H.264, H.265 (HEVC), and AV1 among video codec options; it allows frame rates up to 60 fps. For RTMP/RTMPS, YouTube recommends constant bitrate (CBR), a two-second keyframe interval, and says not to exceed four seconds. Its H.264 recommendations include 5 Mbps for 1080p30 and 3 Mbps for 720p30; its recommended AV1/H.265 values for those formats are 10 Mbps and 6 Mbps respectively. Select a bitrate appropriate to the actual video and the VPS’s available sustained upload capacity; the highest value is not automatically the right target. YouTube’s encoder settings

  1. Enable live streaming on the channel. First-time activation may take up to 24 hours, according to YouTube. YouTube: Get started with live streaming
  2. Create the live event in YouTube Studio and obtain the stream URL and stream key shown for that event. Treat the key like a password: keep it out of public logs and do not share it. Paste it into the encoder’s YouTube destination settings.
  3. Choose the ingest protocol and video settings. Use RTMPS where supported; YouTube recommends RTMPS for encrypted delivery. Set the codec, resolution, and frame rate to match your source and encoder capacity. Set CBR and a two-second keyframe interval for RTMP/RTMPS.
  4. Set audio deliberately. Use the audio stream embedded in the episode or a correctly configured encoder input. Make sure the source actually has sound and that levels are not clipping; test the same audio and motion that will be present during the loop.
  5. Build the playback loop. Configure the encoder or playback software to move from one episode to the next and repeat the playlist. Confirm behavior at file boundaries, including whether silence, a slate, or a brief interruption appears. Exact controls depend on the encoder software, which is not specified by the VPS listings.
  6. Test before depending on it. YouTube recommends a test with similar audio and motion and monitoring stream health. Run your intended resolution, frame rate, bitrate, and playlist unattended long enough to expose resource, network, and file-transition problems. Check both the VPS’s resource use and YouTube’s stream-health feedback.

YouTube’s live setup can use encoder software or standalone encoder hardware. RTMPS is RTMP over TLS/SSL and is YouTube’s recommended encrypted option for RTMP workflows. Encoder guidance · About RTMPS

Check rights and live-stream suitability

Having an episode file does not establish that you have permission to retransmit every element in it. Check rights for the spoken recording, guest contributions, music, clips, artwork, and any other material, and review YouTube’s rules before scheduling a continuous public stream. A loop is still a live broadcast for platform and rights purposes. This article does not establish whether a particular archive qualifies for monetization; YouTube’s channel policies and review apply independently of the VPS or looping service.

Run a real cost and reliability comparison

  • Calculate total cost: include the VPS billing period, required storage, backups if needed, transfer overages, and any managed-service storage or taxes shown at checkout.
  • Measure transfer: calculate expected data for the selected bitrate and schedule, then compare it with the plan’s stated allowance and billing window.
  • Budget administration: a self-managed VPS requires you to configure the encoder and playback, keep credentials secure, monitor the process, and recover from a stopped stream or server issue.
  • Test the exact workload: use your actual episodes, overlays, codec, resolution, frame rate, and playlist. No listing cited here verifies continuous performance for that configuration.
  • Confirm recovery behavior: find out what happens after a network interruption, encoder crash, host reboot, or YouTube disconnect, and test the recovery path rather than assuming it.

Or let it run in the cloud

For an archive-only loop, StreamNeo avoids keeping an encoder computer or VPS running at home: upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It loops uploaded videos to YouTube from the cloud; it does not stream a camera feed. Your computer can be off, and the stream uses the video as uploaded up to 4K/60fps at one price per slot, without re-encoding or quality tiers. StreamNeo says it automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, one free day per account. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month. See StreamNeo for current details, then start the free day.

Common problems and fixes

Symptom Likely cause What to check
YouTube does not receive the stream Live streaming is not enabled yet, or the event’s ingest URL/key is incorrect. Allow for first-time activation, confirm the event and key in YouTube Studio, and re-enter the credentials in the encoder.
Stream health warns of instability Available upload capacity or transfer assumptions do not match the chosen bitrate; encoder or VPS load may also be a factor. Check YouTube stream health, VPS CPU and memory use, and actual outbound capacity; test a lower suitable bitrate.
Video stutters or the encoder stops The machine may not sustain the chosen codec/settings or another process may compete for resources. Run an unattended test using the real workload, inspect resource use, and reduce encoding demands if necessary. A listed vCore count is not a performance guarantee.
Episodes stop at the end of a file The playback setup may not advance or repeat the playlist as expected. Test transitions between every file and verify loop/restart settings in the playback software.
Unexpected bandwidth charges or exhausted allowance The provider’s measured transfer or billing period differs from your estimate. Check the provider’s allowance definition, usage records, overage terms, and current checkout plan.
