There is no single best audio mixer for every livestream. Choose by counting the microphones, instruments, computer or game audio, call audio, and separate mixes you need—not by fader count alone. The Yamaha AG06MK2 is the most directly streaming-oriented of these options, Yamaha’s MG-XU mixers suit buyers who want a traditional analog console and need to select the exact model carefully, and the RØDECaster Pro II is an integrated creator console for more assignable channels, connections, and recording workflows.
The differences below are based on manufacturer specifications and documentation, not side-by-side testing. A mixer can help manage and route audio, but it does not by itself guarantee better stream sound.
What to consider before choosing a streaming mixer
Start by mapping your whole signal flow. List each source you want to hear on stream—such as a microphone, instrument, game or desktop audio, guests on a call, music, and notifications—then note which sources need to be sent back to the computer and which you need to monitor independently. GamesRadar describes these as common streaming-mixer tasks, but the right arrangement depends on your setup.

- Computer and game routing: Determine whether the computer’s audio needs to return to the mixer and whether the stream needs a different mix from the one you hear.
- Loopback or sub-mixes: Loopback is a particular workflow feature, not a blanket term for all multi-channel routing. Check that the exact routing function you need is documented.
- Hands-on control: Decide whether you prefer physical controls or configurable channels and software-assisted workflows.
- Monitoring and recording: Check headphone outputs and whether you need stereo or multitrack recording, and where recordings can be saved.
- Compatibility: Confirm the operating system and streaming app support the intended input and routing mode. A connection that works in one configuration may not work in another.

Even a streaming equipment accessory will not be dull looking when video production.
The combination of loopback and a mute button makes it worth considering when you want a compact setup for streaming and straightforward access to those controls. Yamaha lists USB-C support for Windows and Mac and connection routes for iOS and Android. It also identifies the AG06MK2 as OBS certified; that statement should not be treated as a guarantee for every computer, configuration, or streaming application.
Yamaha MG-XU: select the exact model, not just the series
The MG-XU range uses a traditional analog mixer layout, but its input, output, monitor, headphone, auxiliary, and group configurations depend on the model. Yamaha’s specification table lists USB Audio Class 2.0 and up to 192 kHz/24-bit digital I/O for specified XU models, including the MG10XU.

Before choosing an MG-XU, compare the specification row for the exact model you intend to buy with your source and routing list. Do not assume that a feature or connection shown on a larger model is present on the MG10XU or another smaller model.
RØDECaster Pro II: an integrated console for flexible channel assignment
RØDE specifies four Neutrik combo inputs and nine individually assignable channels on the Pro II: six physical faders and three virtual faders. Its listed features also include dual USB-C, Bluetooth, programmable SMART pads, APHEX processing, four headphone outputs, and multitrack or stereo recording to microSD, USB storage, or a computer. RØDE positions it for streamers, podcasters, musicians, and creators.

- This sound card is not compatible with 48V dynamic microphones or USB microphones. It only supports XLR microphones. (Note: Connecting an XLR microphone requires a 1/4" TRS to XLR cable, which is available as part of a promotional offer and must be added separately.)
- All-in-One Audio Interface for Streaming – This mixer works as a complete audio hub for live streaming, podcasting, and gaming. - Adjustable Reverb for Professional Vocals – The mixer features a fully adjustable reverb effect, allowing you to dial in exactly the right amount of room ambience for your voice. Whether you want a subtle studio echo or a dramatic live‑stage sound, the dedicated reverb control lets you fine‑tune it on the fly – no software needed.
RØDE says the Pro II can be used for a single-microphone livestream as well as more complex multitrack work. Its additional routing and recording options may be useful if your production needs them; they are not a reason to choose it if your actual setup only needs a simpler input and mix workflow.
Check USB routing and streaming-app compatibility
Do not assume that every USB mode exposed by a mixer will be accepted by every streaming app. RØDE’s USB setup guide warns that a browser-based streaming platform on Windows may not accept the Pro II’s Main Multitrack source. If that source or a particular browser workflow matters to you, check the guide for your operating system and intended connection before buying or building the setup.

Yamaha’s OBS certification for the AG06MK2 is useful product information, but it does not establish compatibility with every configuration or application.

Do you need an audio mixer to stream?
Not necessarily. A mixer is useful when you need to combine or manage multiple sources, control them during a broadcast, or route audio between the streaming computer and other devices. If your setup has one microphone and no separate routing needs, an additional mixer may be unnecessary. First map your sources, listening needs, and stream mix; then choose equipment that covers those specific jobs.

What is the best mixer for live streaming?
There is no universal winner among these models. Choose the AG06MK2 if its streaming-oriented controls and documented loopback fit your setup; compare exact MG-XU models if you want a conventional analog console; consider the RØDECaster Pro II if its assignable channels, dual USB, processing, and recording options match your workflow. These are feature-based distinctions, not comparative test results.
Or let it run in the cloud
A mixer handles audio. If your separate goal is to keep uploaded videos playing as a 24/7 YouTube live stream, StreamNeo is a cloud service for that job—not a replacement for a mixer or a way to broadcast live camera input. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. StreamNeo loops the video from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home. It streams the uploaded video as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card.
