Connect a Tally bug-report form to Make’s Watch New Responses trigger, map each submission into a team notification or issue tracker, test the flow with a real response, and then activate it. Tally collects consistent information; Make passes it to another tool. The receiving team’s workflow still determines who triages a report and whether it gets resolved.

Decide what should happen to a report

Choose the destination based on the next step your team needs, not simply on which integrations are available. A Slack message is useful for awareness; creating an issue gives the report a place in a work queue. Neither action by itself assigns an owner, removes duplicates, or guarantees resolution.

Destination Best fit Documented capability
Slack Notify a team or person Tally says submissions can go to a selected channel or direct message, with key details or a fuller response; it also documents sync logs. Tally Slack Integration
Linear Create trackable issues Tally documents mapping form fields to the issue title and description, and including response details in the issue body. Tally Linear integration
Jira or another Make destination Route reports into an existing task workflow Tally’s Make guide names Jira among example destinations. Confirm the connector and action currently available in your Make account before following a destination-specific setup. Tally Make Integration

Before building, check that your destination supports the fields your team needs, decide how it handles file links or attachments, and identify who will triage incoming reports. Tally’s documentation describes integration mechanics; it does not compare destination quality or establish engineering outcomes.

Design a useful Tally bug-report form

Vague messages such as “Something is broken” can leave out reproduction steps, screenshots, or urgency. Use specific prompts so someone receiving the report has enough context to investigate. Tally’s bug-report example highlights the problem of informal reports missing useful details. Tally bug-report example

Ask for the essentials

  • What happened? Ask for a concise description of the problem.
  • Where did it happen? Request the product area, page, or relevant environment.
  • How can someone reproduce it? Give the reporter room to list the steps that led to the issue.
  • What would help explain it? Invite a screenshot, recording, or other relevant supporting file.

Add context when your team needs it

Platform or version, expected versus actual behavior, and severity or impact can help with triage, but they are recommendations rather than a universal required field list. Ask only for details your team will use. Tally supports features such as conditional logic and hidden fields; use them when they make the intake clearer or capture context that reporters should not have to enter manually. See Tally’s form-creation guide.

Build and test the Make scenario

  1. Create the Tally form. Add clear prompts for the report summary, location, reproduction steps, and useful evidence. Make sure any file-upload or context fields fit your team’s needs.
  2. Add the trigger in Make. Create a scenario, add Tally, choose Watch New Responses, and connect the account and form you want to monitor. The exact trigger label is documented in Tally’s Make Integration guide.
  3. Add an action for your destination. Select the notification, issue, or task action that matches your chosen workflow. Tally’s guide uses adding a Google Sheets row as a mapping example and also describes notification and task workflows.
  4. Map the fields deliberately. Put a concise report summary in the destination’s title or subject field. Map the detailed description, reproduction steps, location, and relevant context into its body or corresponding fields. Destination schemas differ; Tally’s Linear integration guide, for example, documents mapping form fields to an issue title and description.
  5. Run a real test. In Make, click Run once, submit a test response through the Tally form, and inspect both the data Make received and the resulting destination record. Check that text landed in the right fields and that any supporting-file information is useful and accessible to your team.
  6. Activate only after checking the result. Correct any mapping or destination issues, then turn the scenario on and choose its schedule. Tally’s Make instructions use this test-and-activate sequence.

Understand what moves between Tally and Make

For direct webhooks, Tally describes sending a new form response to a URL as JSON in an HTTP POST. Its example payload includes an event type and ID, response and form IDs, timestamps, and an array of fields with labels, types, and values. That structure helps explain what downstream mapping can use; your actual destination still determines which fields it can accept. See Tally’s webhook documentation.

Tally’s current API help states a limit of 100 requests per minute and recommends webhooks over polling for continuous synchronization. It also describes date-based API versioning and pagination. Treat the rate limit as Tally’s documented API limit, not a general Make scenario limit, and check Tally’s API documentation before building around a limit or version that may change.

Monitor the live workflow

After activation, inspect Make’s run history and confirm that new reports appear as expected in the destination. Also check the destination’s own behavior: a successful automation run does not necessarily mean the right person saw or triaged the report.

For direct Tally webhooks, Tally documents an events log, request signatures that can be checked, and retries for failed deliveries. Those details apply to Tally’s webhook delivery; they are not a service-level guarantee for a Make scenario. Consult Tally’s webhook documentation when implementing or diagnosing a direct webhook.
