The ASUS ProArt PA32UCDM combines a 31.5-inch 4K QD-OLED panel with a specified 240Hz refresh rate, broad color coverage, hardware calibration support and Thunderbolt 4. Those features make it an unusually versatile option for creators who also want high-refresh gaming or smooth motion. Its main drawbacks are premium pricing, a small built-in USB hub, OLED-care considerations and HDR brightness figures that need context. The specifications below are ASUS’s claims, not independent test results.

Pros of the ASUS ProArt PA32UCDM
4K detail with a high refresh rate
The 3840 × 2160 resolution on a 31.5-inch panel gives creators a detailed workspace for editing images and video, while the maximum specified 240Hz refresh rate is useful for fast-moving content and responsive everyday use. That combination is less common than choosing a display primarily for either creative work or speed. The listed 0.1ms GTG response time is also a manufacturer specification, not a measured result.
Wide color coverage and calibration options
ASUS specifies 99% DCI-P3 and full sRGB coverage, 10-bit color, and factory calibration with Delta E below 1. It also lists multiple color presets and support for ProArt Hardware Calibration, with compatibility for Calman and Light Illusion ColourSpace. These features give color-conscious users tools to build a calibration workflow, but the published figures do not establish how a particular unit performs in independent measurements or after calibration.
#1 Best Overall
- High-Performance Display Panel: 31.5-inch 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) QD-OLED panel with 240 Hz refresh rate and 0.1 ms (GTG) response time for smooth rendering
- Exceptional Brightness and Contrast: 1000 nits peak brightness with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 for exceptional color contrast
- Wide Color Gamut Coverage: True 10-bit color depth and Quantum Dot technology provide 100% sRGB, 99% DCI-P3 and BT. 2020 color gamut
- Industry-Leading Color Accuracy: World-leading E < 1 color performance and ASUS ProArt Hardware Calibration Technology for color-accuracy optimization and color profile write-back
- Comprehensive HDR Format Support: Multiple HDR format support, including Dolby Vision, HLG and HDR10
Thunderbolt can simplify a laptop desk
Two Thunderbolt 4 ports, up to 96W Power Delivery on one port, and daisy-chain support can reduce cable clutter in a compatible laptop setup. The display also has HDMI 2.1, which ASUS says supports 4K at 240Hz. Check that the laptop, graphics hardware, cable and operating system support the connection mode and refresh rate you intend to use.
OLED contrast and multiple HDR formats
QD-OLED provides the panel technology behind the display’s contrast-oriented appeal, and ASUS lists HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision support. The HDR peak brightness specification is 1000 cd/m² for a 3% area, not a claim of sustained full-screen brightness; typical brightness is specified at 250 cd/m². These numbers alone do not establish real-world HDR behavior.
Rank #2
- STUNNING 4K QD-OLED DISPLAY: 31.5-inch 4K UHD (3840x2160) panel with 120Hz refresh rate, 0.1ms response time, and 1000-nit peak brightness for vivid, detailed visuals.
- PROFESSIONAL COLOR ACCURACY: Calman Verified and factory-calibrated with Delta E<1.5, delivering 99% DCI-P3 and 100% sRGB coverage for true-to-life color in critical workflows.
- VERSATILE CONNECTIVITY: USB-C with 96W Power Delivery, HDMI, DisplayPort with daisy-chain support, and a built-in USB hub keep all your devices seamlessly connected.
- AUTO KVM & MAC OPTIMIZED: Built-in Auto KVM enables effortless switching between two PCs or laptops, and M Model-P3 color temperature tuning ensures accurate color on MacBook displays.
- ERGONOMIC & DURABLE DESIGN: Fully adjustable stand with tilt, swivel, pivot, and height settings, plus an anti-scratch film offering up to 2.5x better panel protection than previous-gen OLED.
Adjustable stand and burn-in coverage
The stand supports tilt, pivot and up to 130mm of height adjustment, and the monitor is listed as compatible with 100 × 100mm VESA mounting. ASUS also includes OLED Care and screen-saver features intended to reduce burn-in likelihood, and lists panel burn-in within the three-year warranty. Those protections do not make burn-in impossible.
Cons and tradeoffs to consider
It launched as a premium-priced monitor
ASUS announced a US launch MSRP of US$1,699 on February 11, 2025. That is the launch price, not a current street-price quote. Check current local pricing and stock before deciding whether the combined OLED, color and high-refresh features justify the cost for your workload.

OLED still calls for sensible care
OLED Care features are designed to reduce burn-in risk, and ASUS lists burn-in coverage for three years, but static interface elements and extended fixed-image use remain relevant considerations. Read the warranty terms for your country and verify what is covered before purchase; the policy should not be interpreted as a guarantee against image retention or burn-in.
The USB hub is limited
The built-in hub lists just one USB Type-A and one USB-C port. If your desk uses several wired peripherals, you may need a separate hub or dock, which can reduce the convenience of a one-cable setup.

Brightness and real-world performance need more evidence
The 1000 cd/m² figure applies only to a 3% area, while ASUS lists 250 cd/m² as typical brightness. The manufacturer specifications do not establish measured uniformity, text fringing, coating behavior, input lag, sustained HDR output or unit-to-unit variation, so buyers who depend on those characteristics should seek credible independent measurements before committing.
Check the box contents and firmware for your region
ASUS lists a Thunderbolt 4 cable among optional accessories, so verify the exact package contents before buying an additional cable. ASUS’s US support page provides the PA32UCDM user guide and firmware listings. Its listed MCM109 firmware, dated August 31, 2026, notes changes involving preset switching, OLED screen saver/light sync interaction, and retention of the uniform brightness preference. Firmware availability and notes can differ by region and change over time.

Is the PA32UCDM good for photo and video editing?
On paper, it is well suited to creators who want 4K resolution, wide specified color coverage, a factory calibration claim and the option to use hardware calibration. HDR-format support may also suit workflows that involve HDR content, but the peak-brightness figure is limited to a small screen area and does not tell you how the monitor behaves across a full image. ASUS’s specifications are a useful starting point, not a substitute for measurements or a workflow-specific evaluation.
For critical color work, confirm the color space and luminance targets required by your deliverables, use a compatible calibration workflow, and assess the monitor under your actual viewing conditions. For long sessions with static toolbars or other fixed elements, include OLED care practices in the decision.
Quick Recap
Who should consider it?
- A good fit: creators who value 4K detail, OLED contrast, broad specified color coverage, calibration controls and a high refresh rate in one display.
- Potentially a poor fit: buyers whose budget is constrained, who need several built-in USB ports, or who require independently verified results for HDR, uniformity, text clarity or input lag before choosing a display.
- Worth checking before purchase: your local price, package contents, warranty terms, connection compatibility and whether the monitor’s HDR and OLED characteristics suit your specific work.
