The Aqara Camera Hub G350 combines a dual-lens pan-and-tilt camera with an Aqara Zigbee hub, Matter controller, and bridge. Its wide-angle lens is rated at 4K, and it adds a telephoto view, tracking, and local recording. The key caveat is that those specifications do not translate equally to every smart-home app: Aqara says Apple Home video is limited to 1080p, while Matter camera features depend on each platform’s support.
What the G350 is—and what its two lenses do
The G350 is an indoor camera designed to cover a room broadly, then turn toward activity and bring distant details closer. Aqara lists two sensors/views in one housing:
| View | Resolution | Diagonal field of view | Focal length |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wide-angle | 3840 × 2160 (4K) | 133° | 2.8 mm |
| Telephoto | 2560 × 1440 | 43° | 8 mm |
Aqara specifies 20 fps and H.264 video, and advertises up to 9x hybrid zoom. These are product specifications, not a guarantee that every app or viewing mode will show the same resolution or detail. The lens views and zoom claim are listed on Aqara’s G350 product page.
Pan, tilt, and tracking
The camera can pan and tilt and is designed to track people and pets. That can help keep moving activity in view, but it is not a substitute for positioning the camera to cover important areas. MacRumors notes that movement during pans or zooms can affect image clarity; the camera may need to move before a subject is centered or enlarged.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Smart-home support: Aqara, Matter, and Apple Home
Beyond video, Aqara describes the G350 as a Zigbee hub, Matter controller, and Matter bridge. Those roles may make it useful in an Aqara setup that also uses sensors or other compatible devices. Aqara announced the product on March 17, 2026, as its first Matter-certified camera and said it supports live view, two-way audio, and alerts in Matter-enabled ecosystems. The company also cautions that camera integration depends on each platform’s development, so Matter support should not be read as a promise of identical camera controls everywhere (Aqara’s launch announcement).
Apple Home and HomeKit Secure Video
Aqara lists HomeKit Secure Video support, but says Apple Home resolution is limited to 1080p and may fall further on a poor network. That is below the wide lens’s advertised 4K resolution. Aqara also says HomeKit Secure Video requires an iCloud+ plan and an Apple Home hub. Some camera functions are reduced in Apple Home compared with the Aqara app, according to MacRumors and TechRadar, so Apple-only households should judge it by the Apple Home experience rather than the full feature list.

In a May 2026 review, 9to5Mac reported that adding the device through Matter exposed it in Apple Home as a bridge rather than as a camera; HomeKit Secure Video remained the camera video route at that time. This is a time-specific account, and platform software can change. Do not assume Matter pairing alone will make the camera’s video and controls appear in Apple Home.
Home Assistant
Aqara lists Home Assistant integration through RTSP streaming. That establishes a video-streaming path, not full parity with Aqara’s app or its tracking, alerts, and hub controls.

Recording, storage, and privacy
The G350 can record continuously to a microSD card, but the card is sold separately. Aqara specifies Class 10 or faster cards up to 512 GB and also describes NAS backup and encrypted Aqara cloud storage. Optional cloud and AI services may have subscription terms; a stable, current price schedule is not established here, so check the service terms for your region before subscribing.
Aqara describes a physical privacy mode that retracts the lens when the camera is turned off. This is a visible mechanical privacy measure; it should not be confused with a guarantee about account, network, or cloud security. For HomeKit Secure Video, Apple’s separate iCloud+ and Apple Home hub requirements apply.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
Setup requirements and placement
The camera is for indoor use only. Aqara’s manual specifies a minimum 5V/2A power adapter and recommends locating the camera at least 10 feet (3 m) from the monitored area for best telephoto focus. A compatible 1/4-inch threaded wall or ceiling mount is separate. The box includes the camera, power cable, and two user manuals; confirm whether you already have a suitable adapter before installation. See the product specifications and Aqara downloads and manual.
What works in its favor—and what to weigh
Reasons to consider it
- Two focal lengths combine a broad room view with a narrower telephoto view.
- Pan-and-tilt movement and person/pet tracking can follow activity across a room.
- Local continuous recording is available without relying on a cloud plan, if you supply a compatible microSD card.
- Its Zigbee and Matter hub roles may consolidate equipment in an Aqara-centered smart home.
- The retracting-lens privacy mode offers a physical indication that the camera is off.
Reasons to hesitate
- Apple Home is limited to 1080p, with fewer controls than the Aqara app.
- Matter camera features vary by platform; certification alone does not establish identical support in every ecosystem.
- A microSD card, power adapter, and compatible mount may be additional setup costs.
- It is an indoor-only model, not a camera for an exposed outdoor location.
- TechRadar described the interface as complex and the camera as relatively expensive compared with basic indoor models in its April 2026 UK review; that price observation is not a current global price comparison.
Who should buy the Aqara G350?
The G350 makes the most sense for someone who wants a feature-rich indoor camera and can use its capabilities through Aqara’s app or a well-supported Matter platform. It is especially worth considering if dual focal lengths, tracking, local storage, or Aqara hub functions solve a specific need in your setup.

- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
For an Apple Home-first buyer, the 1080p ceiling and reduced controls are central trade-offs, not footnotes. Compare the camera’s effective resolution and available controls in the app you actually plan to use. Also check current regional pricing and subscription terms: both can change, and TechRadar’s UK review price is not a reliable substitute for today’s local offer.
How to compare it with another indoor camera
- App experience: Check resolution, playback, alerts, and controls in your chosen ecosystem—not only the camera’s maximum specification.
- Coverage: Compare field of view, zoom, pan/tilt behavior, and tracking for the room layout you need to monitor.
- Recording: Decide whether local card storage, NAS backup, or cloud services suit your needs and budget.
- Smart-home role: Verify which Matter camera functions your specific platform exposes, and whether a separate hub is useful to you.
- Installation and privacy: Account for indoor placement, power, storage, mounting needs, and the kind of privacy control you want.
MacRumors reviewer Juli Clover called the G350 her favorite indoor home security camera tested to that point, while disclosing that Aqara supplied the review unit and that she received no other compensation. That is one reviewer’s assessment, not an objective ranking.
