To review visual tests for multiple website pages together in Applitools Eyes, add named visual checkpoints to the relevant page states, give related tests the same batch identity, run the suite, then review the grouped tests and their comparisons in the Eyes dashboard. For parallel Playwright runs, explicitly pass one stable batch ID to every worker; separate worker processes do not share ordinary global variables.
How batch testing multiple pages works
Eyes integrates with an existing browser test framework. Your test code navigates to a page and establishes the state to capture; an Eyes checkpoint records that state for visual comparison. A batch groups related test results for review in the dashboard, but does not replace the individual tests or checkpoint comparisons inside it.
Organize tests around meaningful pages or UI states. Each test should navigate and perform any necessary setup, wait until the application is ready for a stable capture, then take a named checkpoint. Configure the tests in the same logical run to use the same batch identity.
Set up a Playwright suite
The current Applitools Playwright fixture documentation describes batch configuration through eyesConfig.batch. Exact fixture and SDK setup depends on your installed integration and version, so use the current official Playwright documentation for the complete project setup and confirm syntax against the version in your project: Applitools Eyes Playwright integration.

At a high level, a page test follows this sequence:
- Use Playwright to open the target URL and perform the actions needed to reach the state under test.
- Wait for the application state required for a reliable capture; avoid relying on an arbitrary delay if a meaningful readiness condition is available.
- Call
eyes.check()with a descriptive checkpoint name and the capture options appropriate to the page. - Configure the suite’s Eyes fixture with the same batch information for tests that belong in one review group.
- Run the suite and open that batch in the Eyes dashboard to inspect each test and checkpoint.
The exact executable test code depends on the current Playwright and Eyes SDK versions; do not transplant older cross-language batch snippets into a modern project without checking the installed SDK’s API.
Choose a useful test boundary
Make each test correspond to a page or important state that you want to assess independently. For example, a product page before and after selecting a variant may be clearer as two named states than as one ambiguous capture. Keep navigation and interaction in the browser automation test, and make the checkpoint name identify what the result depicts.

Give related tests one batch identity
Set the batch at the suite or test configuration level. Tests intended to appear together must receive the same batch configuration or ID. Use a distinct ID for a different run or group when you need that run separated in dashboard review. Applitools’ general batching guidance explains the shared-ID concept, but that page was updated in 2019, so verify its examples against your current SDK: Applitools batching guidance.

Playwright workers can run in separate processes. A global variable set in one worker is not automatically shared with the others. If each worker creates its own batch identity, results from one logical suite can be split into multiple batches.
- Create or obtain a stable batch ID for the logical test run.
- Pass that same ID explicitly to every worker through the suite configuration or another shared run input.
- Ensure each worker’s Eyes configuration uses the same batch identity rather than generating a new one locally.
- After execution, check the dashboard batch list to confirm the tests were grouped as intended.
Applitools’ explanation of split batches in Playwright is dated April 19, 2022; its underlying process-isolation concept remains useful, but validate implementation details against current Playwright and Eyes SDK versions: Applitools: handling Playwright parallelization.

Choose checkpoint capture settings
Use capture controls to make a checkpoint match the question the test is meant to answer. The Playwright integration documents named checkpoints, full-page capture, region capture, match levels, and ignored regions.
- Full-page capture: Use the documented
fully: trueoption when the whole page, including content below the initial viewport, matters. - Region capture: Target an element or region when the assertion is limited to one component and unrelated page content would add noise.
- Match level: Choose the comparison behavior appropriate to the UI and assertion; do not assume every page should use the same match setting.
- Ignored regions: Exclude content that is expected to vary and is not part of the visual behavior being tested. Use this selectively so genuine regressions are not hidden.
- Checkpoint names: Name the page or component and state clearly, so reviewers can identify the result without reconstructing the test flow.
Review the batch and handle differences
Open the batch in the Applitools dashboard to see its tests and statuses. Open an individual test to inspect its checkpoint steps and compare baseline images with new images. The dashboard documentation describes this batch-to-test-to-checkpoint review flow: Applitools dashboard overview.

Review visual differences before changing a baseline. A change may be an intended design update or a regression; accepting a new baseline without that review can normalize an unintended change.

Framework and version considerations
Applitools lists SDK integrations for frameworks including Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, and WebdriverIO. Use the integration that matches your existing browser automation framework and language. Before implementing batch configuration, verify three things in that framework’s current SDK documentation:
- The SDK supports your framework and language combination.
- Its batch configuration can pass one identity consistently through parallel workers.
- Its checkpoint options support the page’s capture needs, including full-page or region capture and handling of dynamic content.
There is not one batching snippet established as unchanged across every SDK. Pin advice to the framework and SDK version actually in use.

Tests appear in several batches after a parallel run
Likely cause: Workers generated separate IDs or relied on process-local global state. Fix: Supply a stable batch ID to every worker and verify the configured value is identical across the run.

A test is missing from the expected batch
Likely cause: The test used a different batch configuration or ID from the other tests. Fix: Check the configuration path used by that test, including worker-specific settings, and align its batch identity with the intended group.
Checkpoints are difficult to identify in review
Likely cause: Names do not describe the page or UI state. Fix: Use a specific checkpoint name for each meaningful page or state rather than a generic label.
Visual differences are dominated by changing content
Likely cause: The capture includes dynamic regions irrelevant to the assertion, or it occurs before the page reaches its intended state. Fix: Wait for the relevant application state, then consider a narrower region, an appropriate match level, or ignored regions for genuinely volatile content.
