You may still find Apple’s Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter from a retailer, but Apple no longer shows it in the current accessory listings checked, and retailer availability is inconsistent. Search for Apple model MMX62AM/A, then confirm the seller, condition, stock, price and return policy before buying.
Where to look for Apple’s Lightning headphone adapter
Start with retailer listings for the exact model number, MMX62AM/A. A Best Buy product page showed an add-to-cart offer at $19.97 in a 2026 search observation, but that is a time-sensitive listing—not a guarantee of current stock, price, condition or who fulfills the order. Check the current Best Buy product page for its live details.
Other listings point in different directions: Micro Center says it is no longer carried, while a legacy Best Buy listing says it is no longer available in new condition. Treat retailer pages as leads, not proof that the adapter is broadly available.

Check a listing before checkout
- Match the model number: MMX62AM/A identifies the original Apple adapter.
- Check whether the item is new, open-box or used, and whether the named seller is Apple, the retailer or a marketplace seller.
- Review the delivered price and return terms, not just the headline price.
- For a third-party Lightning adapter, search the specific product in Apple’s MFi Licensed Accessories directory. Apple says searchable accessories have completed its MFi certification requirements and been made searchable through the manufacturer’s opt-in or sales reporting. Directory information is not an Apple recommendation or endorsement; verify the actual product and seller.
Make sure you need the Lightning version
The Lightning adapter is for a Lightning-equipped Apple device and wired headphones or another audio device with a standard 3.5 mm plug. Apple says the device also needs iOS 10 or later. Its wired-headphones support page describes the adapter’s function and software requirement.

Apple’s US product page listed its USB-C to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter for $9 in a 2026 search observation. That is a time-sensitive US price, and the USB-C adapter is not a substitute for a Lightning adapter.

If you cannot find the original Apple adapter
Check the MFi directory for a specific third-party Lightning accessory and read the listing carefully. The directory can help you verify whether a product is searchable as an MFi accessory, but its presence is not an Apple endorsement, and the evidence here does not establish a particular third-party replacement as a tested recommendation. Do not assume a marketplace listing is certified based on its wording alone.

If you already own Lightning EarPods, they connect directly to a compatible Lightning device, so you do not need a 3.5 mm adapter. If your headphones have a 3.5 mm plug and your device has USB-C rather than Lightning, choose a USB-C adapter instead.
