The “lowest prices ever” headline referred to Amazon deals reported on November 9, 2025—not prices available today. HotHardware listed a 42mm Apple Watch Series 10 for $279.99, a 13.6-inch M4 MacBook Air for $749.99, and a 15.3-inch M4 MacBook Air for $949.99. Those figures are historical; they should not be treated as current offers or independently verified all-time lows.
Which deals did the headline refer to?
HotHardware’s November 9, 2025 report described these Amazon offers:
| Product | Reported price | Claim in the 2025 report |
|---|---|---|
| Apple Watch Series 10, 42mm | $279.99 | 30% off and $119.01 below the stated MSRP |
| 13.6-inch M4 MacBook Air | $749.99 | 25% off; the report said the model had briefly reached $742.49 a few days earlier |
| 15.3-inch M4 MacBook Air | $949.99 | 21% off; the report called it the lowest price it had seen for the model |
These prices and markdowns are HotHardware’s dated retailer-price reporting, not current quotes. Its article does not include a complete independent price-history dataset, so “lowest ever” is best understood as the publisher’s claim at that time, not a market-wide, audited record. What configurations were on sale?
M4 MacBook Air models
HotHardware described both discounted Airs as M4 configurations with 16GB of memory, a 256GB SSD, a 10-core CPU, an 8-core GPU, a 16-core Neural Engine, and two Thunderbolt 4 ports. The report listed resolutions of 2560 × 1664 for the 13.6-inch model and 2580 × 1864 for the 15.3-inch model. It cited Apple-rated battery life of up to 15 hours of web use or up to 18 hours of video streaming. These are specifications and battery estimates as reported in 2025, not a guide to current Air configurations. HotHardware’s article.

Apple Watch Series 10
The deal covered a 42mm Series 10. It also reported fast charging from 0% to 80% in about 30 minutes. Its brief comparisons with Series 11 and SE 3 were made in 2025; they are not a current buying comparison.

Before treating a sale as exceptional, compare like with like and confirm that the advertised offer still applies at checkout. A lower price can reflect a smaller screen, an older generation, or less memory or storage rather than a comparable discount.

- For a MacBook Air: match screen size, chip generation, memory, and storage. Compare equivalent configurations and note whether a price difference comes from an upgrade.
- For an Apple Watch: match the generation and case size, and check whether the model is GPS or cellular. Do not assume a discount on one configuration applies to another.
- For the deal claim: verify the current checkout price and stock. Treat “lowest we found” or a named tracker’s record as that source’s result, not proof of a universal all-time low.
A laptop and a smartwatch also serve different purposes: a favorable price on one does not make it a substitute for the other. Decide which device meets your needs first, then assess whether the price is good for that particular model and configuration.
