Apple Stores sollen vertrauliche Kartons mit dem Aufkleber „Do Not Open Until October 8“ erhalten haben. Laut MacRumors werden die Läden ab Donnerstag, dem 8. Oktober 2026, ihre Präsentationen aktualisieren. Was in den Kartons steckt und ob die Änderung mit einem bestimmten neuen Apple-Produkt zusammenhängt, ist jedoch nicht bestätigt.

MacRumors berichtete am 1. Oktober 2026, dass vertrauliche Kartons Anfang der Woche bei Apple Stores eingetroffen seien. Die Redaktion erklärte, sie habe den Hinweis erhalten und die Existenz der Kartons unabhängig überprüft. Auf den Aufklebern stehe „Do Not Open Until October 8“ – also, sinngemäß, dass die Kartons nicht vor dem 8. Oktober geöffnet werden sollen. Welche Produkte werden als mögliche Erklärung genannt?
MacRumors führt mehrere unbestätigte Möglichkeiten an: einen Smart-Home-Hub, ein neues Apple TV 4K und einen HomePod mini 2. Als Alternative erwähnt der Bericht ein iPhone Duo. Er schätzt einen Bezug zum Smart-Home-Bereich als wahrscheinlicher ein, doch die Kartons belegen keines dieser Produktgerüchte. Apple hat in den angeführten Berichten weder die Geräte noch einen Zusammenhang mit der Store-Änderung bestätigt.
Warum der 8. und der 13. Oktober nicht verwechselt werden sollten
Der 8. Oktober ist laut MacRumors der Termin, ab dem die Kartons geöffnet und die Store-Präsentationen aktualisiert werden sollen. Daraus folgt kein bestätigtes Datum für eine Produktvorstellung oder einen Verkaufsstart.

Der 13. Oktober 2026 wird im MacRumors-Bericht als möglicher Termin für Apples stärkeren Vorstoß in den Smart-Home-Markt erwähnt; die Aussage wird Mark Gurman zugeschrieben.
